The goal of this project was to develop a hair removal tool for the opposite sex and a brand of your own choice.I chose pharmacy brand Apoliva. As well as being an interesting “no-nonsense“ brand Apoliva was in a very expansive phase thanks to the privatisation of the pharma-cies.

The cutting head is at-tached to a rubber ball which can rotate.The ball is fixed in the han-dle with a pin of the same material. This allows the ball to rotate just as much as the material flexes.

I have created a product with a strong focus on ergo-nomics and function. I have done this without compro-mising the aesthetics, right in line with existing Apoliva products and philosophy.

Large ergonomic grip. Exchangeable cutting heads with five blades for a closer, more gentle shave. Rotating head helps you reach every curve.

Great effort was put in to make the product fit in with the exist-ing product range. This was an interesting challenge because most of the products consisted of only packages.

I studied how women hold the razor when shaving their legs.It quickly became obvious that the grip could be improved over existing products. Using clay mod-els, I developed a grip that gave more support and better grip for the user.

The project was assigned around the concept of the meal in the broadest sense. Other than that there were no guidelines. I chose to limit my work to the cold stor-age of food.

A large part of the project was spent on an anthropological study to see how people interact with their refrigerators.

In the first part of the background study I was filming my three focus group families refrigerators. I did this for one day to see how they interacted with their refrigerators. This enabled me to closely observe without interfering with the experiment.

Next, I interviewed all persons involved. The material from the first study was by then already collected. This meant that I had most of the correct answers in many of the questions I posed, which showed how much of people’s conduct was unconscious.

The study showed, among other things, that milk is by far going in and out the most. In sec-ond place, cheese, butter and other toppings. The study also showed how people were unaware of their behaviour. For example, people who thought they were very careful to close the refrigerator door could have it open for several minutes without thinking about it.

The Result

After my preliminary study was done and my problem defined, I began the sketching process. I looked for solutions for every problem that emerged in the preliminary study. Then I tried to draw it all together into an overall concept that would solve as many problems as possible, in the best possible way.

The end result was Electrolux DUO, a fridge with an extra hatch in the door. This hatch leads to a compart-ment where you can store the things you take in and out most. That way, you do not open the fridge as often. In addition the location of food in the refrigerator becomes more static, which means that it is easier to find.

Industrial Project

The project was to find a company or business and work on a real case for them. The case would focus on tech-nological development. Me and three of my classmates got in touch with the city management office in the city of Malmö. They told us they long wanted to develop new public litter bins that could be emptied by suction trucks instead of manual labour. Because their vision was about install-ing about 10 000 litter bins, the cost was a major factor. The project went so well that we con-tinued to work with Malmö City after the project was finished in school. We also won Drivhuset Startup academy and started the company Treett De-sign Group.

To really see how the litter bins looked and functioned in reality all the prototypes was made at full scale. Here is prototype number three and four (three at the front).

Since the bins only were allowed to cost a fraction of today’s bins (<100 € Instead of about 1000 € ) the project consisted largely of efforts to strip away materials and finding cheaper manufacturing processes. Every detail has been revised sev-eral times to cut the price.

Mobile phone design

The brand was LG and the target group “independent pensioners aged 70-80 years. “ With this target group the project came to be much about simplicity and ease of use.

Since the target group was aged 70-80 years, I focused on developing phones with very simple functions. I stripped away everything but the essentials.

The inspiration from the pat-terned keypad comes from crossword puzzles. Every other button is colored to make it easier not to mix up the numbers.

The end result was a simple concept which has an outer shell of rubber making the phone shockproof. The rubber is grooved so that it also offers very good grip. The phone has a traditional 12 +2 keypad.

To turn off and on the phone you use the slider on the top.The switch eliminates all the “long press” functions. It’s also very easy to see if the phone is off or on.

The assignment in this project was to develop a perfume bottle and pack-aging for a brand of your choice.

I chose to develop a perfume for O’Neill and specifically their women’s section. This is because I wanted a brand that was outside“Mainstream fashion” and had a strong personality. It would also be realistic for the label in the near future to launch a product like this. The reason I chose the wom-en’s section was because I wanted to use my own references as little as possible.

The target group is women 15-35 years old. They live for the summer and the sea. Their greatest passion is surfing of all kinds. All summer days are spent outdoors by the sea. When winter comes, it is either time for the dirty work (to afford next summer) or snow-boarding in the mountains.

The end result with it’s packaging.

Since the pendant hangs on the outside of the packaging it allows the consumer to choose the jewellry (and bottle) of your own taste. The pendant is also used as a handle to pull apart the package.

The end result became a product the user will experience as a personal pos-session rather than a consumer product. The pendant the user has chosen and the natural pleasant feeling of the wood makes it easy to develop a relationship with the product. These factors, together with the summery scent allows the user to connect the product to summer, sea and surfing. Or in other words; O´Neill.

Mini computer

This project was born from my own need for a media computer in the stereo bench. I also wanted to ex-plore how compact you could build this type of computer while only us-ing standard components. I’ve done the development of the product and installation myself while some parts of the manufacturing was done in a sheet metal workshop.

Most components of the mini-ITX standard fit without the need of modifications.

The end result is a computer chassis of laser-cut aluminum and acrylic. The outer dimensions are only 250x250x60 mm. Because of the aluminum’s excellent thermal conductivity and the many ventilation holes the computer only needs one silent going fan.

Both the top and bottom consists of well-perforated acrylic panels for optimal cooling. The bottom also has a variety of mounting holes to fit most motherboards.

A large on / off button is all that stands out from the otherwise smooth aluminum front.

The acrylic window on the front can accommodate a 1x20 line display and two LEDs.

This project is done on my own initia-tive. The goal of this project was to create a product for Sony Ericsson with a strong focus on music experience. The phone’s design was supposed to correlate with the previous models in the Walkman series. At the same time it was supposed to blend in with other recent models in the Sony Ericsson range such as the Satio and Aino.

The end result was the Sony Ericsson W998 Akira. A Walkman phone that form wise connects the Walkman series with news Satio and Anio.

Among other things the phone includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the cor-rect side! Try it yourself, pick up your phone from your pocket, upside down, right?

W998 is equipped with a 3.5 mm headphone jack that delivers crystal clear sound. Want to share your music?Use the stereo speakers!

The 6 mega pixel camera with excellent lighting characteristics and Vario Elmart optics from Sony with f/2.0 aperture ensures that you can always capture the image, day and night.

The new combined USB and power connector has a magnetic lock and lets you charge while you transfer files at lightspeed.
