Being a kingdom community we must uphold the kingdom values. In a world of hatred and resentment we are called to cultivate, love, fellowship and forgiveness. It is forgiveness that adds beauty to our life.
Lew smeds “Forgiveness is Gods intention for coming to terms with the word in which despite their best intentions, peoples are unfair to each other and hurt other deeply. He began by forgiving us and he invites us to forgive each other. God has taught us to never forget that the ultimate forgiveness for our sins come from the cross. If we in all our imperfections and disobedience can been forgiven, we must forgive others. Forgiveness is not optional but mandatory.
Forgiving is a supernatural act. When we forgive we will be God like. The word forgiveness means to yield one of their trespasses to ensure a person from the things they have done against us to absolve them from any punishment. It means to renounce your anger against that person and not to hold it against them. As long as we live in our human �esh, we will be hurt and hurt others and sometimes we may not even realize that we have hurt someone else. Forgiveness is responding to evil with good. Forgiveness is the key to healing; we won’t to be able to enjoy inner peace until we have forgiven. Un forgiving attitude destroys and takes away our joy and inner peace in life. Care or forgiveness is a matter of life. We should forgive and live rather than not forgiving and dying every day.
Mathew 6: 4-15 “For if you forgive men when they sin against you your heavenly father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your father will not forgive their sins” Forgiveness is for our bene�t. We experience forgiveness in desired proportion to our willingness to forgive others.
Forgiveness is a repeating process as long as it’s necessary. Christ answers Peter by saying that Seven Seventy times we have to forgive. The work of forgiveness has to be done over and over again we have not only to forgive, but also to forget. Let us imitate Christ in our forgiving nature.
