Factors affecting the operating environment for government supported VET places 2010 - ….
• Impact of VET eligibility criteria and greater availability of higher education places on decisions of prospective students and therefore on overall demand for VET places
• Downward price and upward cost pressures (including unfunded components of the MBA) on program profitability – particularly for diplomas and advanced diplomas
• Shift of commercial business to government supported places which may affect level of commercial revenue gained
• Requirement to fund backlog infrastructure maintenance, building refurbishments and ICT systems upgrades
Significant efficiency improvements required to mitigate these factors
