He served aboard the USS Pensacola and USS Columbus.He died in 2001 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville. Bill served during World War II in northern France, Ardennes,Rhineland and Central Europe, driving officers around in a Jeep. He also acted as a cook and was a part of the infantry. He died in1977 and is buried in Michigan. Carson served in World War II in France and Germany in the combat infantry. He received thePurple Heart. He died in 2004 and is buried in Joe White Cemetery. He fought atChickamauga and was captured Nov. 25, 1863, after the battle of Missionary Ridge while riding courier. He spent the remainder of the war asa prisoner at Rock Island, IL. He was the son of Larkin "Lark" MaynardSr.(18901972) & Amanda "Mandy" Catherine Jernigan (18961977).
