WarrantyCrustBuster/Speed King, Inc. of Dodge City, Kansas, warrants consumer products, sofar as the same is of our own manufacture, against defects in material andworkmanship under normal and reasonable use for a period of one (1) year after dateof delivery to the original purchaser. Our obligation under this warranty is limited,however, to furnishing a replacement part for a defective part, or at our option to repairthe defective parts without charge, either method F.O.B. our works, provided theconsumer gives CrustBuster/Speed King,Inc. written notice within ten (10) days aftersaid part appears to be defective and affords CrustBuster/Speed King,Inc. anopportunity to inspect. Unless otherwise expressly agreed to by CrustBuster/SpeedKing,Inc., the consumer shall bear the expense of installation.

CrustBuster/Speed King, Inc. will not be liable for consequential damages where theloss is commercial, including but not limited to loss of profit, delays or expenses.

This warranty sets forth the extent of our liability. The foregoing is in lieu of all otherwarranties, expressed or implied, including any warranties that extend beyond thedescription of the product.

ALL GEAR DRIVES ARE SHIPPED WITHOUT OIL. DO NOT OPERATEBLENDER BEFORE PROPERLY LUBRICATING WITH THE PROPER TYPE,GRADE, AND AMOUNT OF OIL REQUIRED. REFER TO THE LUBRICATIONGUIDE IN THIS MANUAL.

I understand this vertical screw blender is a heavy, powerful, and bulky unit ofequipment capable of causing injury or death when used improperly. I acceptthe responsibility associated therewith.

I understand the danger of high voltage power lines in relation to high profile equipment and accept responsibility for its safe use in dangerous surroundings.

I understand that neither I, any of my workers, nor anyone else should beallowed to work in or under the vertical screw blender area while it is inoperation, or unstabilized for any reason.

I understand the blending screw can cause serious injury or death instantly.Therefore, I accept responsibility to avoid, and to cause my workers to avoid,working in an area or manner that would cause unnecessary risk of injury ordeath.

Safety Precautions

1. Operator should read and understand operator's manual beforeoperating blender.

2. Never crawl under, stand or climb on blender beforedisconnecting and locking out power source.

3. Disconnect and lock out power source before adjusting andservicing blender.

4. Do not operate without guards and shields in place.

5. Stay away from hopper inlet when operating.

6. Stay away from blender outlet when operating.

7. Keep area clean.

8. Operator should be familiar with controls and operationsequence prior to start up.

9. Read and understand all material safety data sheets (MSDS) forany chemical or material you are handling or blending.

10. All electrical components should be wired by a qualifiedelectrician. All federal, state, and local codes should befollowed.

CAUTION: STOP ALL MOTORS AND LOCK OUT POWER SOURCE BEFORESERVICING BLENDER.

CAUTION: IF GUARDS OR SHIELDS ARE REMOVED TO SERVICE UNIT,REPLACE IMMEDIATELY AFTER COMPLETION OF WORK.

IMPORTANT: THE LUBRICATION PERIODS RECOMMENDED ARE BASED ONNORMAL USAGE. SEVERE OR UNUSUAL CONDITIONS MAYREQUIRE MORE FREQUENT LUBRICATION.

IMPORTANT: ALL GEAR DRIVES ARE SHIPPED .WITHOUT OIL DO NOTOPERATE BLENDER BEFORE PROPERLY LUBRICATING WITHTHE PROPER TYPE, GRADE, AND AMOUNT OF OIL REQUIRED.

Lubrication

Lubricate the gear drive by filling the unit to the proper level, per these instructions. Select the propertype and grade of oil based on the ambient air temperature range around the gear drive. Choose anoil that meets the requirements of the following table.

IMPORTANT:MAKE SURE THAT THE COOLEST AMBIENTTEMPERATURE IS AT LEAST 10E F GREATER THANTHE POUR POINT OF THE OIL CHOSEN.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE BREATHER PLUG IS INSTALLED IN THE TOP SIDEOF GEAR DRIVE.

Maintenance

Change the oil after an initial period of 500 hours of operation or one (1) month, whichever occurs first.

Thereafter, for a petroleum-based gear oil with or without EP additives, change the oil every 2500hours of operation or every six (6) months, whichever occurs first. If a synthetic, hydrocarbon-typegear oil without EP additives is used, the recommended oil change interval is doubled to 5000 hoursor twelve (12) months, whichever occurs first.

For better drainage, drain the oil when the unit is warm.

For units that see a significant seasonal swing in ambient temperatures, you should change the gradeof oil as needed (thinner oil in the winter, thicker oil in the summer).

Storage

If the unit will not be operated for an extended period of time (greater than two (2) months), you havetwo options. Either fill the unit completely with the proper oil for long term storage, or fill it to theoperating level and run it for a minimum of one-half hour per week to coat the internal parts with oil. Before resuming use, insure that the oil is of the proper type and at the proper level.

Blender MaintenanceDue to the characteristics of certain materials, a residue may build up. If this is a problem or getsexcessive, wash out the blender and around the gate. Allow to dry before using.

Scale MaintenanceProper scale maintenance begins with a good supporting structure and installation. The floor standscales used with CrustBuster/Speed King equipment are constructed from quality material and builtto exact standards by experienced workmen. If the scale is installed properly and receives periodicpreventive maintenance, it will give years of satisfactory and dependable service. All operators shouldread and understand the owner's manual.

All steel parts of the floor stand scale should be cleaned and kept free of corrosion. Cleaning with awire brush, scraping, and painting will prolong the life of the scale and contribute to its accuracy anddependability. The pivot and bearing surfaces should be cleaned with a wire brush and packed lightlywith grease at least once each season. The grease should be of the type that neither freezes normelts under varying temperature changes.

The dial head should be kept free of dust and moisture. The dashpot should be kept 1/2" of the top. It should be kept in adjustment so the pointer has the desired action. The lower seal should be kept3/8" of the top so dust cannot enter the dial mechanism. The scale should be tested at regularintervals by a qualified scale mechanic to insure that the proper accuracy is maintained. Regulartesting and maintenance will help prevent costly inaccurate weights and expensive down time. It isrecommended that a service contract be made with your nearest authorized scale distributer for regularservice.
