Versatile New Fendt 800 Series Tractors Designed to Accomplish Nearly Any Job on the Farm

Fendt unveils next generation of technology firsts at AGCONNECT Expo, setting new standard for

power, maneuverability, versatility and comfort to make any job easier and more efficient

ATLANTA, Ga. (January 7, 2011) ― Unveiled during AGCONNECT Expo 2011, the new Fendt®

(http://www.fendt.com) 800 Series high horsepower tractors continue the Fendt tradition of

combining technology and precise engineering in machines equipped to help innovative

farmers get any job done faster, better and more efficiently. Five completely new models

have maximum engine output of 280 hp, a top speed of 32 mph, versatile front and rear

implement mounting with powerful hydraulics, the all-new Variotronic consolidated

electronic control system, Tier IV-interim emissions compliance, as well as a fully redesigned

x5 cab for the ultimate in comfort and operator convenience. An optional reversing driver’s

station adds to the machine’s ability to accomplish nearly any job.

“These new models of the Fendt 800 Series offer increased power and weight coupled

with engineering features and versatility that allow operators to do more types of work with

just one tractor,” says Mike Alvin, product marketing manager for high horsepower tractors.

“Their innovative design and advanced engineering reinforce the Fendt position as the

marketplace leader for technology.”

The Fendt 800 Series includes five new models ranging from 200 to 280 hp, each

equipped with the 6.06 l Deutz four-valve, six-cylinder engine. The engines’ common rail high-

pressure injection system delivers high fuel efficiency while AGCO’s first-to-the-market e3

selective catalytic reduction (SCR) clean-air technology (http://www.agcocorp.com/E3/)

cuts NOx emissions and particulate matter by 95 percent to meet Tier IV-interim emissions

compliance. The 800 Series’ engine technology coupled with the continuously variable Vario

transmission (CVT) provides fuel savings up to 5 percent greater than previous models.

Powerful, yet fast and agile

The Fendt 800 Series tractors’ new rear drive train and front axle suspension combine

to handle both heavy field and on-road transport work quickly, safely and efficiently. Body

roll is kept at a minimum and improved handling around curves makes the 800 Series well

suited for heavy on-road transport jobs. The completely new rear drive train features wet

slow-rotating multi-disc brakes that are engineered to resist dirt and wear for long life. The

brakes’ superior deceleration also improves efficiency for reduced fuel consumption,

particularly at high transport speeds.

The new front-axle suspension system has exterior spring cylinders and dual-circuit

braking to permit maximum transport speed of up to 32 miles per hour (40 km/h). To enhance

steering precision, driving and braking stability Fendt Stability Control (FSC) locks the

compensation between the right and left sides at speeds above 12 mph. When the driving

speed drops below 9 mph, compensation between the left and right sides resumes and

enhances ground contact for machine stability.

Front-axle suspension with leveling control and a mechanical three-point cab

suspension ensure an exceptional driving experience. For the highest level of comfort, the

tractor can be equipped with pneumatic cab suspension and active seat suspension.

Versatility allows a broad spectrum of tasks

The Fendt 800 Series is built to work and offers 22 equipment connections, more than

any other tractor in its power class. From six rear and two front hydraulic valves to PTO both

front and rear as well as factory-installed front and rear three-point hitches plus full ISOBUS

connection, the 800 Series tractors help ensure versatile operation and trouble-free

implement connection. The optional reversing driver station allows 180-degree rotation of the

entire front console, driver station and dash. This option provides the same ride and

operating comfort in reverse as in forward drive and makes the tractors very popular for

chores such as mowing and snow blowing.

Maximum rear lift capacity is now 18,300 pounds, ensuring that even the heaviest rear-

mounted implements may be lifted to the fullest height without difficulty. Front lift maximum

capacity of 11,089 pounds allows the use of heavy front-mounted implements.

The powerful hydraulic system of the Fendt 800 Series features a load-sensing pump

with a delivery capacity of up to 50 gallons per minute for rapid and efficient response.

New electronic control unites all functions in one terminal

Available only from Fendt, the all-new Variotronic electronic control unites

management of all tractor functions in a single terminal. This advancement allows the

Page 3: Versatile New Fendt 800 Series Tractors Introduced to North America

operator to direct all tractor and implement controls, camera functions, operation

documentation and the automatic steering system using the single Varioterminal 10.4-inch

terminal. It can display up to four applications simultaneously. For standard farming needs,

Fendt offers a 7-inch terminal that also has an intuitive menu with a flat hierarchy and

practical touch-screen technology.

Equipped with a headland management system as a standard feature, these tractors

help ensure the last turn is as precise as the first while reducing operator fatigue and possible

operating errors during a long day. Automatic steering reduces overlap, saving fuel and crop

inputs. And the documentation system records relevant data with a minimum of effort. Data

transfers wirelessly from tractor to office computer and from computer to tractor as well.

The conveniently organized right-hand armrest allows the operator to make all settings

and adjustments from this single operating unit, controlling the tractor and implements with a

multi-function joystick, significantly reducing operator hand movement and stress. An

ergonomically designed crossgate lever manages the first and second hydraulic control

units, while third and fourth auxiliary hydraulic control is located on the joystick. The rear

linkage power lift control module operates the quick lift switch, depth control and PTO

engagement. The location and function of armrest controls are designed to minimize hand

movement, improve performance and reduce operator fatigue.

Big x5 cab for comfort and exceptional visibility

The newly designed x5, five-post cab provides a ground-breaking new dimension in

driving comfort. Exceptional all-around visibility includes low lines of sight, plus tinted front and

side windows offer a relaxed working environment. Automatic air conditioning ensures

operator comfort in the summer, and on cold days, the seat heater is a comfort you wouldn’t

want to be without. Spacious, quiet and equipped with a wide range of conveniences, the

comfort features of the cabs of the Fendt 800 Series tractors are second to none.
