1/2
The combination Line Strainer cum Air Eliminatorensures removal of solid impurities, air or vapour fromthe liquid before they enter the bulk meter. It is essentialaccessory for a trouble free and accurate bulk meteroperation.
DESIGN FEATURES
Low pressure drop due to large filter element area Compact dimensions for minimum installation
space Quick release lid facilitates regular inspection Threaded ports for connecting differential pressure
gauge or temperature probe High venting capacity air eliminator
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The Line Strainer cum Air Eliminator is fitted on the bulkmeter inlet. The strainer consists of a fabricated bodywith flanged inlet and outlet connections. The wiremesh filter element is positively clamped by the quickrelease lid and lid screw. A drain plug is provided tofacilitate servicing. Liquid impurities get filtered onpassing through the filter element and the clean liquid
flows through to the bulk meter. For new installations, itis advisable to first thoroughly flush lines beforeinstalling the bulk meter. Periodic filter elementinspection and cleaning is necessary to prolong the lifeof the bulk meter.
The air eliminator is mounted on the side of the strainerbody. It consists of a stainless steel float connected to apilot valve via multiple linkages. When air collects in theair eliminator, the buoyant force acting on the floatreduces, the float drops down along with the pilot valve
connected to the linkage and the air escapes throughthe main valve. As the liquid rises in the air eliminator,
the float rises to lift the pilot valve, thereby closing the airrelease opening of the main valve.
