The heart of CASMI is to train and equip the women of the church of Russia to do outreach, so when Neva Church women came to us in the spring of 2006 asking for our help, we were ready to listen to their vision. This group of women

had started doing scrapbooking classes with supplies they had been given by missionaries from the US. They used scrap-booking to build a women's ministry and for fellowship. When they heard about the pos-sibility of being able to sew with other women and help the children they got even more excited. CASMI provided them with three new sewing machines and access to a serger when needed. The first project was to sew bedding for baby cribs for an intake hospital in St. Peters-burg. The hospital was thrilled with this gift and very touched that la-dies from a Russian church cared this much to sew such a needed and practical gift. Above are Natasha (l) and Julia(r),two of the preachers’ wives sharing their work with us.

The Master’s Seminars CASMI offers for equipping the women of the church have brought new growth in Russia. Nadya, our Russian Direc-tor, would like to begin mini seminars throughout the year.

Funding for orphan sewing Immediate

This group of ladies helped to host the first ci ty wide Master’s Seminar in 2007. Over 80 women from 14 dif-ferent churches as well as care givers and teachers from orphan-ages were in atten-dance. The US mission team prepared testimo-nies of God’s faithful-ness and taught quilting and new scrapbook projects. The ladies of Ru s s i a we re ve r y touched to have an en-tire day designed to encourage them!
