What is a verb? Ntbk p. 140
Verb: a word that shows action or a state of being.
Action Verb: shows an action that can be seen, felt, heard, or thought.
Ex. The wagon flipped over.
Linking Verb: tells about/describes the subjectEx. Squirmy is tired.
Helping Verb: helps the main verbMolly must escape.

Examples:1. The waiter cut the cake into four slices.

Ex: Taylor is witty.
