Here are a few more ways to use the verb card for extrapractice. Reinforce with one of these in a couple of days!

• Translate each sentence into your native language. Translating in your head isgreat for making sure you have a general understanding, but translating in writingwill help you focus on the details and get a deep learning experience.

•  On a separate page, scramble the words for each sentence. Then, set that pageaside. Come back in a couple of days and try to unscramble them.

•  Ask a friend to record a few of the sentences in separate audios. In WhatsApp,this is as simple as making a voice recording and texting it. Use the recordings asmini-dictations in a couple of days.

•  Choose one sentence, and use it as the first line in a short story. This is a greatway to grow your vocab!

•  Record your own voice reading the sentences. In doing that, do you become awareof any areas where you have uncertainty about pronunciation?

• Drill the mind and body! Print the verb card and find a set of stairs. Walk up anddown the stairs once, repeating one sentence over and over as quickly as you can. Then repeat the exercise for the next sentence, until you've done 12 sets of stairs. Not a fan of stairs? Set a kitchen timer to 30 seconds, and do the same exercise, then repeat 12 times. In this drill, don't think, just focus on reading out loud asquickly as you can. Without much mental effort, you are helping these structures feelmore natural and automatic.

• Channel your inner actor. Read each sentence as if you are a famous actor from400 years ago. Be overly dramatic, and read each sentence as if it were the climax ofa Shakespearean play!
