    If you believe that your vehicle has a defect, which could cause a crash or could causeinjury or death, you should immediately inform the National Highway Traffic SafetyAdministration in addition to notifying Vento North America.

    If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration receives similar complaints, it mayopen an investigation, and if it finds that a safety defect exists in a group of vehicles, it may

    order a recall and remedy campaign. However, the National Highway Traffic SafetyAdministration cannot become involved in any problems between you, your dealer or VentoMotorcycles, Inc.

    VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION

    VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (VIN)

    This number identifies your entire vehicle. This number is used by federal and state entities for regulation, safety, pollutionand registration purposes. Our warranty system is based on the VIN and engine numbers as well. Your motorcycle wasdelivered to you with a metal plate permanently attached to its frame with this number engraved. A federal label attachedto the surface under the seat includes safety, tire pressure information, model year and the VIN.

    ENGINE NUMBER

    Your engine number will only be used by Authorized Vento Dealers and Service Centers for identification. This number isengraved on the engine cover.

    Removing or tampering with any of these numbers is a federal crime. Avoid scratching or damaging this number whileservicing or repairing your motorcycle.

    Should you have an issue with any of these numbers, contact your State s Motor Vehicle Department in addition tonotifying Vento North America.

    You may need to know this number for vehicle registration, warranty claims, theft or in case of a recall.

    EMISSION INFORMATION

    U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY STANDARDS

    This vehicle has been designed, manufactured, equipped and certified to conform to all applicable U.S. Environment Protection Agencyfederal regulations and so that it is free from defects in material and workmanship which could cause the vehicle to fail conforming toFederal Environmental Protection Agency regulations during the time period under Federal Emission Control Systems Warranty.

    CALIFORNIA E.P.A. (C.A.R.B.)

    This vehicle and its engine are certified to meet the California Air Resources Board (CARB) emission and evaporative standards.

    The emissions label located on the bottom surface of the seat on your motorcycle contains statements, specifications, basic tune- up, andcertified family names required by the regulations mentioned above. The evaporative emissions diagram can also be found there.

    See your warranty booklet for further information regarding the Emissions Warranty.

    CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS

    LEFT HAND CONTROLS

    Horn button - Press the switch to sound the horn

    Turn signal switch - Slide switch left when turning left, slide switch right when turning right and push in to cancel.

    Low beam / High beam Switch For High beam Turn upwards / For Low beam Turn downwards.

    Engine Kill Switch Turn into the X position to shut off. Turn into the O position to start the engine.

    RIGHT HAND CONTROLS

    Headlights / Running Lights - Slide switch towards the left up to first level and running lights will come on; slide once again to the

    next level the head lights will turn on.

    Electric Starter button - Press the electric starter button for a maximum of 5 seconds. NOTICE:

    If the engine does not start the first time, try again after 30 seconds.

    DO NOT use the electric starter after long periods of inactivity, doing so can drain the battery.

    IGNITION SWITCH

    1. ON Position (Engine Ignition)

    Engine can be started

    Electrical devices such as horn, lights, etc. can be activated .

    Key cannot be removed.

    2. OFF (Engine Shut-off)

    Engine cannot be started.

    Electrical devices such as horn, lights, etc. are inoperable

    Keys can be removed

    3. LOCK Position

    Steering lock is engaged

    Engine cannot be started.

    Electrical devices such as horn, lights, etc. are inoperable

    Keys can be removed

    NOTES:

    Rotating the key switches the electrical circuitry ON and OFF

    WARNING:

    Do Not Turn the ignition key when the engine is running. Use thekill switch to shut-off, then rotate the key counter-clockwisetowards the OFF position.

    NOTICE:

    If the engine is shut-off, please turn the ignition switch to the

    OFF or LOCK position. Failure to do so can cause batterydrain or damage on the electrical system.

    STEERING LOCK OPERATION

    For your protection, activate the steering lock when leaving yourvehicle parked or unattended.

    1. Turn handle bar to the left or right limit.

    2. Turn the key from OFF towards the LOCK position.

    3. Remove the key.

    To unlock:

    Insert the key and rotate it to the OFF or ON position.

    COMPARTMENTS

    SEAT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT

    When the seat is open you will find the luggage box, which canhold up to 20 Lbs. (10 KG)

    (Operating manual and other documents can be stored here.)

    ATTENTION:

    Food easily affected by temperature and combustible materialsshouldn t be stored in the luggage box.

    Opening and closing seat compartment lock:

    1. Insert key and turn to left to open.

    2. Lift the seat from the rear to open it.

    3. Drop seat and press it firmly to close.

    The seat is locked automatically.

    FRONT GLOVECOMPARTMENT

    The front compartment can hold goods weighing up to about3Lbs. (1.5 kg.)

    How to use the front compartment:

    1. Insert key and turn towards the left to open lock buckle.

    2. Open the cover by pulling outwards.

    3. Please use the rubber strip or a rope to fasten luggage.

    FUEL TANK

    1. Insert key and turn the key left to open lock.

    2. Turn fuel tank cap to the left and pull out to remove.

    3. Add fuel to the tank.

    4. To lock, press firmly into place and remove the key.

    FUEL TANK CAPACITY IS 1.6 GALLONS (6 LITERS).

    TURN OFF ENGINE BEFORE FUELING

    USE UNLEADED FUEL ONLY (87 OCTANE)

    WARNING:

    Fuel is combustible and can cause fire under certain conditions

    When fueling vehicle, do so in an open, ventilated area.

    Avoid skin contact with, and inhalation or ingestion of fuel.

    Do not overfill. Doing so can deteriorate body panels.

    RIDING

    STARTING THE ENGINE

    Make sure that fuel and oil levels are adequate.

    DANGER:

    DO NOT START THE ENGINE IN AIRLESS OR AIRTIGHTCONDITIONS SINCE EXHAUST FUMES CONTAINPOISONOUS SUBSTANCES THAT CAN CAUSE DEATH.

    1. Set the kick lever (main stand)

    2. Driver must stand to the left of the vehicle.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

    4. Hold the steering handle firmly.

    5. Kick start the engineor press the electric starter button (fornot more than 5 secondswhile applying the rear brake.

    DO NOT USE THE ELECTRIC STARTER ON FIRST USEAFTER LONG PERIODS OF INACTIVITY.

    NOTICE:

    It is recommended to warm-up the engine by driving slowly

    during the first few minutes or miles of the trip.

    DRIVING TIPS

    Before starting your motorcycle, squeeze the rear brake with theleft hand and grasp the handle with the right hand and then pushthe vehicle forward so as to turn main support back up.

    Do not grasp the seat to turn the main stand up / down.

    Climb astride the vehicle. Hold the handle bar with both handsand stride the vehicle from the left side. Keeping your left foot onthe ground for support, climb over the vehicle with your right leguntil you are seated firmly

    If driving with passenger, flip open the rear foot pegs ; otherwise,keep them closed.

    CAUTION:

    In order to prevent the vehicle from rushing out please squeezethe rear brake leveruntil the engine is running and then release itslowly.

    When pulling out of park, loosen the rear brake, rotate thesteering handle slowly and the vehicle will begin to move.

    SPEED ADJUSTMENT

    Use the throttle grip on the steering handle to adjust speed

    Towards the driver to increase speed.

    Release to reduce speed.

    BRAKE SYSTEM

    To brake, first slow the vehicle by turning the throttle grip awayfrom you. Next, grasp the front and rear brake bars

    simultaneously and squeeze them until the brakes apply.

    Remember to apply the brakes gradually and steadily.

    If you need to stop while going uphill, always use both brakes.Don t try to maintain position with the throttle alone, as this willdamage the engine.

    WARNING:

    Always brake early on damp, snowy or frozen ground, since thebrakes will need more time to take effect than on a normal roadsurface.

    Don t brake repeatedly during long downhill rides since this can

    damage the vehicle.

    Check brake oil level regularly.

    PARKING

    Do not lean your motorcycle against walls.

    Stand your motorcycle on a flat, even surface.

    Do not leave your motorcycle unattended, especially if theengine is running or the key inserted.

    Do not sit on your vehicle while it is resting on the mainstand.

    Avoid touching any parts that may be hot such as the

    engine, chassis, wheels or brakes.

    STORAGE

    CAUTION:

    SHIELD THE ENGINE AND MUFFLER WITH A DUST COVERAFTER THE SURFACE HAS COOLED DOWN.

    NOTICE:

    Please pay utmost attention to the following for long periods ofstorage.

    It is of great importance to wax all parts to prevent rust.

    To preserve the battery and reduce leakage, please take thebattery out and put it in a ventilated place away fromexposure to light. If you don t plan to remove it for storage,please disconnect the negative electrode.

    Drain off all the fuel in the carburetor to prevent rusting.

    AFTER INACTIVITY

    Rinse your motorcycle

    Check battery charge and recharge if needed

    Check oil and fuel levels

    Do a thorough check of all parts and processes before

    using

    ON FIRST USE

    Proper running of the engine to ensure a long life for your vehiclerequires that you take the following precautions:

    For the first 100 Miles (160 KM), drive slowly and use the brakesgently. Avoid sudden or prolonged use of the brakes. This willensure optimum performance and extend the life of the vehicle.

    After the first 500 Miles (160-800 KM) do not drive yourmotorcycle at speeds greater than 80% of the maximum speed.

    Gradually start driving your motorcycle at higher speeds (subjectto the local speed limits) until complete break-in or maximumperformance has been reached.

    REGULAR CHECK-UPS

    CHECKING YOUR MOTORCYCLE

    Regular checks are necessary in order to maintain yourvehicle in optimum condition and to help prevent accidents

    Always remember to check your vehicle carefully beforedaily use.

    An overall check every six months ensures optimumperformance.

    WARNING:

    Breakdowns or accidents may happen if these checks areneglected.

    Regular checks are required even if the vehicle has been lyingidle. In fact, it is of particular importance to check your vehiclethoroughly after long periods of disuse.

    Check more frequently if vehicle is being used under extremeweather, rainy or dusty conditions.

    We recommend that difficult checks be done at your local(or the nearest) service center.

    DAILY CHECK

    Brake System

    Check for smooth functioning and sensitivity of response.

    Make sure that brake fluid level is proper

    Tires

    Check for cracks or other damage.

    Ensure no abnormal abrasion.

    Check for depth of tire thread.

    Engine

    Adequate engine oil. See Engine Oil for details.

    Check for unusual noises or rattles.

    Check for appropriate acceleration/deceleration response.

    BRAKE SYSTEM

    Lookat the fluid level indicator.

    Squeeze the brake lever tightly to check if the displacement ofthe fluid indicator line falls below the indicated brake fluid limit, ifit falls below minimum, replenish brake fluid.

    Through the rear of the brake fixture. If the disc appearsabraded, indicates that it needs to be replaced. Check the traveldistance of the grip again after adjustment.

    If brake system oil level is below minimum, replenish with brakefluids DOT3 or DOT4 only. Do not use inferior quality orrecycled brake fluid.

    Squeeze rear brake handle until resistance increases andmeasure if the further stroke is in this range.Adjust the gap byturning the regulating nut. Turn clockwise increase the traveldistance, Counter-clockwise to decrease.

    CAUTION:

    When replenishing, prevent the brake fluid from getting in contact with the paintwork to avoid fading or chapping of body panels.

    Be sure to keep the surface of the adjusting nut in perfect contact

    with the pillar surface of the pin.

    ENGINE OIL

    Checking Oil Level

    1. Keep the motorcycle on its main support on level ground.

    2. Remove oil level gauge. Oil should be between maximum

    and minimum levels.

    3. Add oil if required.

    USE SG IN API CLASSIFICATION OR SAE 10W-40

    Engine Oil Replacement

    1. Remove drain screw of oil cap

    2. Drain engine oil (It is easier to drain the engine oil when the

    engine is warm)

    3. Pour proper quantity of oil slowly into the gear box using a

    plastic cone or a funnel.

    4. Tighten back drain screw.

    5. Tighten the oil plug after completion.

    CHECK OIL LEVEL PERIODICALLY.

    AIR FILTER

    The air filter should be cleaned after approximately every 1000Miles (1600 KM), depending on usage and conditions.

    If the vehicle is being used often in rainy or dusty conditions, theair filter should be cleaned more frequently.

    Cleaning

    1. Set the motorcycle on its main support. 2. Loosen the five screws that fasten the air filter cover in

    place to remove the cover.3. Remove the filter and cover the intake manifold to avoid

    foreign objects entering the engine.4. Clean the filter with solvent and let it dry5. Submerge wick into clean filter oil.6. Reinstall air filter.7. Put cover back on. Tighten.

    Remember to replace the air filter if it is worn out, dirty orclogged up.

    Improper fixing of the air filter may cause dust to enter theengine and affect performance or damage the pistonchamber.

    BATTERY

    Check the electrolyte of the battery every 1000 Miles (1600 KM).

    Battery check

    1. Make sure the key ignition switch on OFF2. Open the battery cover using a Phillips head screwdriver.3. Replenish the battery electrolyte except for the contents of

    the sealed container which needs no inspection.

    FUSES AND WIRING

    If any electrical component is not working or is workingimproperly or the engine does not start, check your motorcyclefuses and wiring.

    Fuse Checking

    To check, remove fuse from casing; replace if damaged. You candetermine whether a fuse is damaged by looking through at thecenter of the fuse and examine if the connector is burnt or cut.Should the latter be the case, replace the fuse.

    All electrical components should be replaced only withoriginal Ventoparts. Do not use non-standard fuses orwith improper capacity. See the Technical Data .

    WASHING YOUR MOTORCYCLE

    DO NOT USE SOLVENTS OR STRONG DETERGENTS; THEYCAN DAMAGE THE FINISH OF YOUR MOTORCYCLE.

    1. Mop the dirt with a soft cloth while rinsing with warm water.

    2. Use a neutral detergent and wash the motorcycle with waterto get rid of stubborn dirt or grime.

    3. Dry any residual water with a clean and soft cloth.

    We recommend that our users apply mixed wax . It is important tobe careful with the paintwork and plastic parts gently to prevent

    scratches and chipping.

    CAUTION:

    Clean the motorcycle only after the engine has cooledKeep water out of the muffler, air cleaner and electricalappliances to prevent rusting and short-circuitingPlease ride slowly and carefully after washing your motorcyclesince brake performance may be affected by residual water

    It is recommended that the motorcycle is dry before riding it.
