Karun means “to be nature” in native Chilean language (Mapudungun) and comes from the wilderness of Patagonia, a remote and virgin region where
nature blossoms and inspires our designs, values and way of working.

We have caused our planet harm. It is our role to bring solutions to climate change, ocean plastic pollution and other natural issues that are outcomes
of our unsustainable lifestyle.Around the world, people are showing a global movement of environmental
and social conscience is growing. Karun’s sunglasses are a symbol of this movement and we invite people to join the community!

We believe humans are closely related to nature, but over time, we have lost sight of this essential aspect of our existence.
By looking through our eyewear, we invite people to share a point of view on life, one in harmony with our planet.

THE OCEAN COLLECTION
The Newen design is influenced by the native Fin Whale. Found in the depths of the Chilean ocean displaying speed and size, the Fin Whale’s morphology is found in the design of Newen. Named after the Mapudungun
word for “strenght” and energy, the Newen is characterized by grater coverage and a strong frame.

The Yuco is inspired by the Minke Whale which inhabits the depths of our ocean. Characterized by a short extension, the side of the frames follows the whales morphology through the small scale and shape. Derived
from the Mapudungun name for “sharp”, Yuco represents the Minke whales’ sharp features.

The Kayu design is inspired by the Right whale, a cetacean that lives deep in the chilean ocean. The Right whale is de-fined by a heavy mass through the center of the body, which is translated into the lens shapa of the Kayu style. The
name Kayu was selected as an analogy to the key feature of this whales.

Why Italy? Our frames are made in Italy with the latest technologiesthat ensure we meet the best quality standards of the industry.

All our model are paired with official Carl Zeiss lenses, which offers 100% UVA/UVB protection, good for summer and winter.

Each of our frames have a direct impact on theenvironment and on social communities.
We work closely together with local fishing communities in Patagonia that are rewarded in return of handing us over their
broken fishing nets. By participating to the program, local fishermen not only help to prevent ocean pollution, but empower
the development of their entire community.

Our cotton folder is organic.Our box use no glue and only 100% recycled paper.

The fit of the Ocean Collection sunglasses can be adjusted by applying warmth to bend the frame. We advise clients to perform this at a
recognized optician using the appropriate techniques and material.

We close the loop.
Clients are invited to contact Karun via the webpage or social media if their sunglasses meet their end of life.
Karun will recycle the broken frames again and offer the clients a 25% discount on a new purchase for their contribution.
THEWARRANTY
We don’t use any chemical in or on our products. There is no coating applied which leaves a rough aspect – with a grey
tint. With a frequent usage, this tint fades away leaving the frame black. Like a wooden house, or wooden floor, the glasses live with their owner.
