• An Agency of the Ministry of Science, Energy and Technology
• Primarily implementing technology driven projects on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information
• Vision - To transform national learning outcomes using Information and Communication Technologies
• Mission - To facilitate the development of a knowledge-based society by using ICT methodologies
• Mandate - To promote the integration and infusion of technology in the education system
Current Projects
Completing the distribution process of the 25,000 tablets for teachers island-wide.
Distribution of 33.5k tablets to schools island-wide, to be completed this week.Further 6.5k by the end of Nov. Total of 40k tablets

Each student receiving $20,000 towards a device - Laptop or Tablets 36,000 students will benefit
The Government has provided $720 million As an Incentive for Non-PATH Students to acquire devices

How will this program work…
Students will apply for the incentive via an online portal
– Parent/Guardian TRN information will be required
for validation
MoEYI will implement a point rubric to ensure that the most needy will benefit
Once approved – an electronic voucher will be issued to the successful
student
e-Voucher will be redeemed at Certified OYOD Partners.
Vendors will have access to the application to allow for
redeeming the e-Voucher and access reports and submit
invoices for payments.
Vendor Onboarding Process
• e-LJam recently placed an Ad in the newspapers and online inviting vendors to express their interest by submitting an email to our procurement team at [email protected]
• Vendors will be required to meet specific eligibility criteria that eLearning Jamaica will establish.
• Vendors interested in participating will be required to apply providing the required documents. (Application form will be available on the e-Learning Jamaica website )
• A Legal framework has been developed that will guide the onboarding of vendors.

Commitment of credit terms / financing options to
be made available for parental contribution.
Failure to comply with the eligibility requirements will
result in automatic disqualification.
Legal Framework
• Only the selected vendors that have been shortlisted based on the satisfaction of the relevant eligibility criteria, will be contacted for participation in the programme.
• These selected vendors / resellers will be invited to confirm participation in the programme by agreeing to the terms and conditions set out in an OYOD Vendor Participation Agreement.
• The OYOD Vendor Participation Agreement contains all the terms and conditions relating to participation in the programme. This will be available on our website, www.elearningja.gov.jm
• A vendor is not considered a participant in the OYOD programme or a ‘Certified OYOD Partner’ until there is a valid, duly executed OYOD Vendor Participation Agreement in place between the vendor and e-Learning Jamaica.
