On boardPont-Aven offers all the dining options you would expect on a cruise ship, from the à la carte Flora restaurant to the self-service restaurants, La Belle Angèle and Le Café du Festival, with food freshly prepared by our skilled French chefs. We also offer a choice of bars - Le Grand Pavois, is the largest main bar and live entertainment venue, where we serve a range of cocktails as well as beers and wines, hot and cold drinks plus snacks and has a real cruise ship feel. Our piano bar “Le Fastnet” is a stylish cocktail bar, and a perfect place for an aperitif or a post-dinner digestif and the relaxed mood is enhanced by the pianist. Les Finisteres is Pont-Aven’s pool bar, serving wines, beers and soft drinks.

Car parkingCharged car parking is available at the Portsmouth Terminal at approximately £12.00 per day payable at the car park. For your convenience you can park your car on board for just £35.00. This is for parking only and vehicles cannot get off in France. This must be prebooked.

The Special New Year’s eve meal will be served in 2 sittings the first commencing at 18.00hrs UK/shipboard time and the second at approximately 22.00hrs (places on the 2nd sitting will be limited). If you wish to dine with other passengers/family/friends you will need to make one booking for all. It should be noted that tables in ships are ‘fixed’ and cannot be adjusted. Large groups may be allocated multiple tables but in the same area.

Cruise to Rouen this New Year

Day 1 - Thursday 29th DecemberCheck-in at Portsmouth from 15.00hrs (3.00pm) for the early evening departure of Pont Aven to Rouen at 18.00hrs (6.00pm). You’ll have plenty of time to settle in to your cabin before enjoying a meal on board and sampling some of the facilities and entertainment in a choice of bars.

Day 2 - Friday 30th DecemberThis morning we sail along the river Seine passing riverside towns and villages and under the famous “Pont de Normandie” bridge arriving at the Rouen cruise terminal at approximately 15.00hrs (3.00pm). There will be time to go ashore either stretching your legs or taking the free shuttle bus to explore this beautiful city. Rouen is the historic capital of Normandie full of medieval buildings and architecture. It was also where Jeanne d’Arc was burnt at the stake in 1431. The 13th Century Cathedral of Notre Dame is found in the heart of the city and was the subject of a number of paintings by Claude Monet. Rouen is also noted for its shopping with a great range of shops and boutiques. Then it’s back on board for another great evening.

Optional excursion to HonfleurOn Saturday 31 December, New Year’s Eve, there is a chance to visit the wonderful town of Honfleur.

Honfleur is one of the most visited towns in France. Situated on the Seine Estuary, its character and atmosphere has inspired painters, writers and musicians with its picturesque paved streets and timber-framed houses.

It is especially known for its old, colourful harbour surrounded by quaint little shops, bars and restaurants. You will certainly be captivated by the charm of this delightful seaside village which is just an hour away from Rouen.

The shore excursion must be booked at the same time as booking your New Year cruise and will depart from the ship at 09:30, returning at around 15:00 local time.

Day 3 - Saturday 31st DecemberNew Year’s EveToday you are at leisure on board or free to visit Rouen as you wish. Alternatively you can join the optional pre-booked excursion to the beautiful port town of Honfleur. Although the ship does not depart Rouen until the early hours, all embarkation controls close early evening and then the fun starts! A five course Gala Dinner is available in the ships main Le Flora restaurant.
