INTRODUCE BizNAS TO VEEAM BACKUP & REPLICATION

Type in the IP-Address of BizNAS, change the default description if required.

Add the credentials for SSH connection to the BizNAS.

To use BizNAS as a Backup Repository, it must be introduced to Veeam Backup & Replication as a Unix Server.

Choose Linux Server for Type as BizNAS OS is based on Debian Linux.

Choose the BizNAS as a repository server (here IP Address 192.168.4.98)

Create a new backup-job backing up toBizNAS starting with the name.

Choose the virtual machine(s) to backup.

Choose the backup repository (BizNAS)created earlier.

Create a Backup Repository for RDXstarting with the Name.

Choose Linux Server for Type as RDXis direct connected to BizNAS.

Click Next.

Click on Browse

Choose path of the repository (RDX-Drive)where backup should be stored.

The chosen repository is now displayed.As this is the RDX drive, different RDXmedia can be used!

Click on Advanced.

To be able to use media rotation, choosethe last option!This will enable Veeam to perform a fullbackup on every new cartridge.

Click OK, then click on Next.

Click on Next at the next menu.

Check your settings, then click on Next.

Your settings are applied. Click Finish toexit defining this new repository.

Create a new backup copy-job backingup to RDX starting with the job-name.

Choose the backup job (backup toBizNAS) to copy.

Choose the target for the backup copy(RDX).

Backup Job “vCenter Backup to BizNAS” does the primary backup to BizNAS.

The Backup Copy Job “Copy Backup to RDX” does the secondary backup to RDX. RDX is directly connected to BizNAS via USB 3.0.

In the backup job definition of the primary backup job, a secondary task can be integrated. So, the backup copy job is automatically started.
