reflex ’V in-line vessel’
reflex ’V in-line vessels’ protect the diaphragms of expansion vessels from impermissible temperature loads. According to DIN 4807 Part 3, the continuous temperature on the diaphragm must not exceed 70°C. In cooling systems, tempera-tures of 0°C should be avoided, so as to eliminate the possibility of the diaphragm freezing to the vessel.

In heating systems In cooling circuits
If the reflex ’V in-line vessel’ is connected from above, hot expansion water > 70°C displaces cooler water into the diaphragm of the expansion vessel.
If the reflex ’V in-line vessel’ is connected from below, cold expansion water 0°C displaces warmer water into the diaphragm of the expansion vessel.
Selection
No general formula exists for calculating the nominal volume Vn of ’V in-line vessels’. Local conditions also vary too greatly. We would therefore like to refer you to our calculation program and the brochure for “Pressurization, Degassing, and Make-up Systems – Planning, Calculation, Equipment”.
