Under the Judas Tree (in full flower), at the border of S. America/Child/Mediterranean gardens, is the dainty Star ofBethlehem ( ), an asparagus rela"on. Slightly east, below a Blue Atlas Cedar and west of aOrnithogalum umbellatum

Strawberry Tree (arbutus unedo) are the delicate Horned Tulips ( ). On the bark path through Chile,Tulipa acuminata

the Corcolen Saw-Toothed Azara (Azara serrata), with its dis"nc"ve leaves, is blooming. And in our Australiangarden, opposite the Gunnera, the Ochre Whipcord Hebes ( ‘James S"rling’) have put forthVeronica ochracea

flowers.

It’s Laburnum Time!

Hundreds of classic Bri"sh cars are going on display, and there are 2 days of set-up prior to

the event. This is the 33rd year for the event. Parking & some guiding routes will be affected.

Notes from the May 3rd walk (”Plant Hunters and Living Fossils,” led by Liese Goosen and

Barbara Ebelt”), are now available at www.ericanotebook.com/gardener-walks.html

If you tend to veer right and enter the Woodland

Garden, you may want to change your guiding route

just this once (or at least be sure to men"on to guests

that the walkway is well-worth a visit). Dodge

photographers and drink in the beauty!
