When I look around Vancouver I
am struck by the number of people in motion – running, swimming, painting, playing beach volleyball and more. It is a picture of a very active community that takes healthy living seriously.
It is also a community that bucks the trend – 62 % of British Columbians are considered healthy to in excellent health – but the other third are considered overweight or obese (Health Canada 2011) – that is not what you see here.
It seems that people in our city have a secret – they take their health and wellness seriously and they take responsibility for finding and using the best help they can - whether that be a personal trainer, to maintain their activity levels or using a chiropractor, naturopath, dietician or dermatologist to improve their overall wellbeing.
Locals seem to know it takes a team and they like to stay with local providers that have a good local reputation. This guide is dedicated to anyone that wants to take their health in their own hands and access the services of local professionals that have been keeping our neighbours in amazing shape and spirit.
