By Lorrie Ward Jackson It is sometimes said that time heals all wounds. But some- times, time is guilty of inflicting wounds, as anyone who has experienced the ravages of time on his or her body will attest. Another culprit in this war against aging is life experience— which is why women, who bear the responsibility of childbirth, seem to bear the brunt of time’s eroding forces. Plastic surgeon Brian D. Kent, MD, who has dedicated his practice to helping people restore some of what time has stolen, is pleased to invite the community to a lecture entitled “Mommy Makeovers” at Bailey Ranch Club House in Owasso on Thursday, April 19 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. “This lecture is designed to educate women on what can be done to restore their figure after pregnancy and what the procedures entail, including potential complica- tions and recovery periods, what kind of scarring to expect, and more,” says Dr. Kent. “I would also like to show what kind of results can often be obtained through before and after pictures – looking at results, which are sometimes quite dramatic depending upon what you’re starting with, helps people to be realistic in their expectations.” The main procedures discussed will involve what Dr. Kent calls “improving the torso from breast to abdomen,” including breast lifts, reduction, or augmentation and tummy tucks. “A woman’s stomach often needs a tummy tuck of some sort after pregnancy, even if it is a mini-abdominoplasty when the problem isn’t that bad,” Dr. Kent says. “And childbirth often causes loss of volume and deflation in the breasts due to size change and breast feeding.” Dr. Kent often performs the breast and abdomen surgeries at one time, which makes recovery easier in the long run for the patient. He can also perform these surgeries in conjunction with other surgeons conducting medically necessary By Duane Blankenship Mill Creek Home Improvements is your full-service window and door company that helps turn your home improvement dreams into reality. StrategyProject Hope Worldwide’s strategy is to create holistic villages.

Over the last twenty yearsin both the counseling andfinancial business, I haveseen many cases of what Icall decideophobia. Thesymptoms of this “disorder”come in various forms. However, the commonthemes are: a seeming inability to make a decision, extreme avoidance of thesubject at hand, a mistrust ofthe advice of professionals, afear of being incompetent tomake a good decision, andan unwillingness to ask forhelp. Decideophobia canmanifest when making anytype of decision but is particularly pervasive when itcomes to making importantdecisions such as about “yourmoney or investments”.

Some of the root causesof decideophobia are the following:1) fear of making a wrong

decision2) a lack of understanding

about the available options

3) wanting to maintain a sense of control over the issue “whatever it may be” and finally,

4) not feeling confident about the advice/professional offering the service. For instance every single

time I have to buy a car, Ihave this feeling of dread.

I dread going to the car lot.I dread being swarmed bythe salespeople. I dread having to sort through and understand all of theoptions. I especially dreadthe negotiations to finallymake a purchase. To top itoff, I hate the time that itrequires doing all of thesethings. So what do I do? Iput it off until my carabsolutely won’t “go” anyfurther and leaves me stranded at Bass Pro-to betowed in the middle of thenight by a three time ex-convict (I’m not kidding,he told me prison stories allthe way home!) to my darkhouse. All this because mydecideophobia had been acting up for several weeks.Lesson learned!

So, save yourself somegrief! If you find yourselfwith a bad case of “decideo-phobia” about your moneyor investments, make a plan.Give yourself a limited timeframe to make a decision.

During that time frame setgoals to think about whatyou want. What do youwant from an advisor? Whatdo you want from your investment? What is most important to you? (safety, growth) Proactively researchthe options available. Youcan easily find informationonline.

Find a professional service you trust. Ask familyand friends, research different advisors websites,Google their name (you canfind out a lot about an advisor and their practicethis way). Who you trustmatters. In this type of market environment, notmaking a decision couldleave you stranded in thedark with an ex-convict. Ishould know.

Decide and move forward! You will be gladyou did. For more information go towww.waterstonewealth.comMelanie Hasty-Grant,Experienced LicensedProfessional Counselor andManaging Principal atWaterstone Private WealthManagement. Securitiesoffered through LPLFinancial Member FINRA,SIPC.

OOklahoma Originals

By Duane Blankenship

The Broken Arrow Arts andHumanities Council presents"Oklahoma Originals" on Friday,April 20 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets areavailable online and at the boxoffice at the BAPAC. This exciting presentation will showcase three prominently recognized performers, all fromOklahoma – Grady Nichols, JennyLabow, and RADIORADIO. Theevening will be relaxed in a family-friendly setting.

Saxophonist Grady Nichols’slatest CD, “Destinations,” is amusical vacation. In it, you visit

gigs. Jenny then recorded herfirst solo CD, “Flourish,” whichwas signed to RenaissanceRecords. She played Lilith Fairin Oklahoma City that sameyear. Lilith Fair was one of themost successful touring festivalsof the 1990s, featuring a lineupof female solo artists and bandsled by women. Jenny’s musicwas chosen for the independentfilm “Chillicothe,” in which shealso made her acting debut. Thefilm was accepted and shown atthe 1999 Sundance FilmFestival in Park City, Utah.

After recording her secondalbum, Jenny moved to LosAngeles to pursue her career inmusic and film. Jenny’s long-time popularity as one of themost loved and recognized musicians in Tulsa has created ademand that keeps her returningto Oklahoma on a regular basisfor live performances. Jennyappears either as a solo act, in aduo, or with a full band.

RADIORADIO is an original band comprised of veteran musicians with a driveto succeed, surpassed only bytheir talent. The band’s lyrics

the beach, explore the streets ofLondon, go a little country, hitthe west coast, spend time daydreaming, and come backhome again. You’ll hear selections from this album withGrady’s “singing” saxophonetaking you on a musical journey, touching various musical genres.

Grady is full of surpriseswith sounds peppered by a driving banjo, pedal steel guitar, steel drums, and string sectionsthat are woven seamlessly intocohesive contemporary jazz/popsettings. He has explained hispassion for the saxophone bysaying he feels it is a “voice” thatcan “sing” a lot of styles. Thesax has played a key role in someof the most memorable songs inpop music over the last 30 years, and Grady is one of today’s mostrecognized sax musicians. Hedelivers great performancesnight after night for rock, pop,Christian, and country fans.

Jenny Labow was born inToronto, Canada, and moved toStillwater, Oklahoma, with herfamily when she was 12. Sheplayed in high school rock bandsand eventually joined the iconicband Glasshouse. The bandparted ways after recording twoalbums and playing countless

are both prophetic and sobering.Make no mistake, there is onlyone RADIORADIO.

This four-piece rock bandfrom Tulsa has a presence andmessage that command attention. Whether on stage orin the studio, they have consistently delivered for theirfans. Although there are lots ofgood bands crisscrossingAmerica, RADIORADIO hasbeen labeled “special.”

With the release of theband’s second full-length album,“Esprit De Corps,” RADIORADIO employed the18th-century term for brotherhood, enthusiasm, anddevotion along with the iconicfleur de lis. To the band, thissymbol not only representedlongevity and versatility, but its

three petals represented theband, the music, and the fansthat make it all possible.

Performances by RADIORADIO have beendefined as dramatic and engaging, and they are a worthypart of the three Oklahoma performances scheduled forFriday evening, April 20, at theBroken Arrow Performing ArtsCenter Broken Arrow. Makeyour reservations now and besure to check online for otherexciting performances scheduledfor the BAPAC.

This performance was madepossible by Broken Arrow ArtsCouncil’s Show Sponsor,Hampton Inn and ClarionHotels in Broken Arrow;Premiere Sponsor, BrokenArrow Visitors and ConventionBureau; and grants from theOklahoma Arts Council and ArtWorks as well as collaborationwith the Broken ArrowPerforming Arts Center.

After child birth, many women lose some of the volume and firmness of their breast tissue. Dr. Kent recommends either a breast augmentation, a breast lift or a combination of the two, mastopexy-augmentation.

Pregnancy can also wreak havoc on the abdominal wall, stretching the muscles and the skin. Add stretch marks to thisand you have the typical post-pregnancy abdomen. A tummytuck, or abdominoplasty, treats all of these problems, helping torestore your pre-pregnancy appearance or, in some cases, improve upon it.

Often, Dr. Kent can combine breast and abdomen procedures inthe same surgery with dramatic results. Please contact our practicetoday to schedule a Mommy Makeover consultation.

SSwarming TermitesMean Business

By Duane Blankenship

The research department atMother Nature’s Pest Controlreports that 90 percent of all termite colonies swarm everyyear, usually in the spring. Theytypically swarm during daylighthours when it’s sunny and usual-ly after a rain. Swarming ter-mites should always be takenseriously because they are repro-ductive colony members beingsent out to form new colonies. They live only four to six hoursand are your “alarm clock” thattermites are in the area.

Mother Nature’s predictsthat 2012 is going to be a greatyear – for swarming termites!“Although swarmers usuallyappear around the first of April, they were reported this year asearly as late February,” said PestManager Tara Pearson.

Mother Nature’s has beeneliminating termite colonies since1979 and is still the largestSentricon installation and monitoring company in the stateof Oklahoma. The SentriconElimination System is eco-friendly and provides home-owners great peace of mind. Alicensed, experienced, and knowledgeable termite specialistwill gladly do an inspection ofyour home and provide you with

baited with a formulation that isreportedly 2.5 times more effective at eliminating termitecolonies than the originalSentricon System. Although theoriginal system is still effective, the new HD formulation is justa lot better and longer lasting. With it, traps generally have tobe checked only once each yearbecause there is bait in every sta-tion. Termites eat the bait, carryit underground into their respec-tive colonies, and regurgitate it,where it is consumed by othermembers of the colony. As thedeadly bait is consumed, activitybecomes less and less until thecolony is eliminated. Sentricon

a free estimate and the best solution to eliminate existing termite colonies, as well as prevent future infestations.

About a year ago, MotherNature’s introduced a newSentricon HD Always-ActiveSystem, and each station is

bait station installations save thehomeowner from having theirhome drilled with holes in thefoundation, which results in a“machine gun” look that nevergoes away.

Mother Nature’s lawn caredepartment is led by Tom Sevitts, who has been in the lawn careindustry for over 30 years. Theytreat all types of grasses with fertilizers and weed inhibitors, and apply treatments for theelimination and control of fleas, ticks, ants, spiders and other nuisance lawn insects.“Everything seems to be happening earlier this year,” saysTom. “If you haven’t already, callnow to schedule an application ofa good pre-emergent.” He alsoreports that cool-season turf (fescues) took a real beating withthe prolonged heat and draughtof 2011. If you did not reseedyour fescue this past fall, Tomrecommends that you wait untilthis coming fall to do so or laynew sod now. Seeding fescuegrasses in the spring has a lowgermination success rate.

“Bermuda grasses,” saidTom, “are not showing anywherenear the winter damage we saw ayear ago when northeasternOklahoma suffered one of ourworst winters on record.” Ourarea is already seeing signs ofspring with blooming and leafingBradford Pear Trees. Soil temper-atures have remained warmerthan normal and crab grasses willpredictably appear soonerthroughout the area. Tom recommends that you scalp yourlawn early this year, with one caution. Be sure to wait until any

threat of a hard freeze haspassed. If you aerate, do so afteryour Bermuda is up and growing, which again, might be muchsooner than normal. Bermudagrasses are already growing insome areas. “If you’ve alreadysprayed for henbit, the pretty little purple flowers in your yard, and they are still visible, mowthem and they shouldn’t comeback,” said Tom.

Mother Nature’s offersmonthly lawn care packages available March throughNovember. Call or visitwww.mothernaturesinc.com fordetails on all provided servicesand benefits.

HHemophiliac’s Knee Pain LedHer to Dr. LaButti

By Joshua Danker-Dake

Kortney Breshears, 19, ofAntlers, Oklahoma, has hemophilia, a blood clotting disorder. In July of 2010, she dislocated her right kneecap. “Ifirst saw an orthopedist inMcAlester, but because I hadhemophilia, he was afraid totouch me,” Kortney says. “Hetold me that since surgery wasnot required, I could live with acrooked knee.”

Nearly a year later, Kortneywas experiencing dislocationsfrom even the slightest of movements. Kortney contactedher hematologist and was connected with an orthopedist inOklahoma City. “This orthopedist wasn’t knowledge-able about hemophilia,” Kortneysays. “She didn’t see anythingwrong with my knee and didn’tknow why I was experiencingpain. I did twelve weeks of physical therapy under her care, but without a lot of results. Atthat point, she wanted to do surgery to reconstruct the leftside of my knee. I decided tolook for another orthopedist.”

A clinic in Paris, Texasdirected Kortney to a specialist

piece was moved and fastenedwith two screws, her kneecapwas moved to align correctly, andthe laxity in her ligaments wasalleviated.

“I was very concernedbecause this was my first surgery, but Dr. LaButti was great atcalming my fears,” Kortney says.“He worked closely with me andlet me call any time I had a question, no matter how silly itwas. And he explained the procedure so well.”

Prior to the surgery,Kortney had experienced arthritis pain and grinding in theknee. “A few days after surgery, Ibegan to feel less pain than I hadbefore the surgery. I spentalmost ten weeks with my leg inextension. Every time I visitedDr. LaButti, the staff was soencouraging, which really helpedme get through it. Getting out ofmy brace felt like my greatestaccomplishment.”

Kortney has finished herrecovery, and says her experiencewith Dr. LaButti was entirelypositive. “My knee has healedcompletely, with no problemsand very little pain throughout

in Dallas. Finally, a friendreferred her to Dr. LaButti. “Dr.LaButti welcomed me and myhemophilia, which was a hugerelief,” says Kortney. “At my firstappointment, he had enoughfamiliarity with hemophilia toask me which deficiency I had.My comfort level rose, andalthough Dr. LaButti hadn’tworked with a hemophiliacbefore, he welcomed the challenge.”

Dr. LaButti identified theproblem with her knee immediately, Kortney says. “Myknee was not tracking correctlybecause my kneecap was out ofplace. He also discovered laxityin my ligaments that was addingto the problem.”

They discussed therapy andhow it hadn’t worked, then elected to do surgery. Dr. LaButti worked withKortney’s hematologist to createa treatment plan to controlKortney’s bleeding before, during and after surgery. InSeptember, 2011, Kortneyunderwent a tibial tubercleosteotomy. Kortney’s tibia wasshaved near the joint, the shaved

the process. I have very littlearthritis pain now and no grinding. My physical therapistwas impressed with how wellaligned it was and how muchbetter I was already walking. He says he’ll recommend Dr. LaButti to any of his patientswho need a great orthopedist.”

BBack to a Pain-Free Life

By Carol Beck-Round

For 15 years, Stephen Hager battled back pain. Physical therapy, steroid injections, electric stimulation andpainkillers didn’t relieve the painfollowing an accident in 1997. “Ididn’t want to get hooked onmedications,” says Hager, “andmost treatments only gave metemporary relief, two weeks atthe most.”

Back pain affects 85 percentof the U.S. population at somepoint in their lives. Hager’s painbegan with an injury to his leftthigh. While working at the Portof Catoosa, Hager was lookingforward to playing basketball atan Oklahoma college that fall. His basketball dreams ended, however, when he accidentally cutinto the muscle in his thigh witha concrete saw. Surgery left theinjured leg 3/8 inches shorter.

Six months of physical therapy followed so that Hagercould learn to walk again. Toldby doctors that he would neverbe able to walk without a caneor a crutch, he decided at age 18 that he would rather limp.“It’s kind of hard to get a girl-friend when you’re limpingaround,” he says. “So I began tocontort my body so it would

treatment, Hager had absolutelyno pain. Before then, if you hadasked Hager to describe his painlevel on a scale of one to ten, hewould have replied with a six ora seven. “You just grow to acceptit,” he adds.

However, the pain hadaffected his ability to hold downa job. “I don’t like to miss work,”he says. “However, there weredays I had to miss because I wasin the hospital or at a doctor’soffice undergoing treatment. Ididn’t have a choice because thepain was so intense.”

The day Hager first walkedinto Spinal Decompression’soffice, he says, “I could barelywalk in because I was stoopedover in pain.” His brother, Seth, affirms the shape his olderbrother was in before he beganhis spinal decompression treatments. “He couldn’t evenstand up straight.”

“I am very pleased witheveryone in the office,” saysHager. “They all take time to visit with you and discuss whatyou are going through, whilesome doctor’s offices run youthrough like you are part of acattle herd. They don’t. Theyreally care.”

disguise the limp.”Because Hager was fighting

the limp, his spine becamecrooked. “As years went by, thepain got worse,” he says. “I’d getto a point where if I had anepisode, I couldn’t move. Theycould last anywhere from two tothree days to almost two weeks.”

It was through a friend thatHager learned about SpinalDecompression of Oklahoma.“My friend talked highly of Dr.Gary Fortner, so I thought Iwould check out this treatmentthat I had never heard of,” hesays.

After Dr. Fortner measuredHager, he confirmed the left legwas indeed 3/8 inches shorter. “Ithought I was destined to havesurgery,” says Hager. “I learnedthat if I had already had back surgery, I would not have been agood candidate for spinal decompression.”

Hager began his 20-treat-ment plan in early February.“The first two weeks, I went daily, Monday through Friday forone hour each visit,” he says.“There is no pain involved in thetreatment, and I had immediaterelief after the first one.”

After just two weeks of

For Hager, relief from theconstant pain has had anotherbenefit. “Before I went throughspinal decompression, my painsometimes stopped me fromdoing things with my children. Iam now able to spend time playing ball outside with them.”

“I highly recommend spinaldecompression to anyone whohas been sitting there in pain,”he adds.

GGet Your Glow OnBy Sheryl Sowell

During the spring and fast-approaching summer months, less is more – people are dressing in less clothing andwearing less makeup. Whenyou’re out at the lake or by thepool over the next few months, you won’t want to have foundation caked on your face –you want to feel free and confi-dent in your skin. Dr. MallorySpoor-Baker of AdvancedCosmetic Medicine in Tulsa canhelp transform the appearanceof your skin into a look of radiance for the warmer seasons.

For patients who desire dramatic changes in heavy textural issues, Dr. Spoor-Bakerrecommends the Pearl, a resurfacing laser that combinesthe best effects of Erbium andCO2 lasers without the risk ofserious side effects. “The Pearlis essentially a thermal peel, providing significant surfaceexfoliation. My Pearl patientshave smoother skin, smallerpores and an overall refined texture within three to five days.Their skin is fresher, softer andbrighter, and their heavy linesare greatly improved.”

The Pearl procedure combines the impact of

resurfacing lasers with the gentleness and safety of non-invasive procedures to treataging and sun-damaged skin andcreate a healthy, pearl-like glow.

The laser procedure thatmost dramatically changes pigment – red or brown – isIntense Pulse Light (IPL), alsoknown as limelight. “IPL isexcellent for the treatment ofbrown and red pigmentation onthe face, hands and legs, or justabout anywhere else,” Dr. Spoor-Baker explains.“We’ve known for years thatIPL laser also stimulates collagen synthesis in tissue, soyou can see improved skin texture, smoothness, andreduced pore size. On the faceand neck, IPL helps to clear upblotchy skin, uneven pigmentation, veins, redness, and texture problems. It worksextremely well on the hands toremove brown pigmentation andwill also improve the overall skintexture. In as little as two treatments you can see clearer,younger-looking hands.”

To treat fine line wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture, redness and scars, Dr. Spoor-Baker recommends

the Laser Genesis procedure. Itutilizes non-invasive laser technology to safely, discretelyand effectively improve yourappearance. “Over the course offour to five treatments, LaserGenesis can help restore yourskin’s youthful glow by smoothing out uneven texturescaused by aging, sun damage orscars. You will see a creamier, healthier complexion as largepores are reduced in size andminor imperfections are diminished. The individualtreatment results are subtle, but the overall effect of multipletreatments can be quite dramatic.”

CCalling All Brides-to-Be

By Rodney Taylor

The Tulsa Wedding Showannounces their newest weddingshow for Tulsa brides. This smaller, more intimate show willbe at the new GlenpoolConference Center, south ofTulsa Hills Shopping Center onHighway 75, on Sunday, April29, 2012 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Although The TulsaWedding Show produces aJanuary wedding show withattendance of about 2,500 people, and a summer show, which has about 1,400 attendees,Vicki Taylor, producer, believes aspring show is needed also. Withconstant changes in weddingfashions, Vicki believes that herupcoming spring wedding showwill be just what newly engagedbrides are looking for – and sheis shaking up her traditional wedding shows with theGlenpool event.

The original Tulsa WeddingShow was designed to meet theneeds of women who had a wedding to plan with little timeto plan it. In 1993, there was aneed to make life a little easierfor Tulsa brides-to-be by bringingwedding merchants together inone place and creating an easycome-and-go shopping experi-ence just for brides and theirfamily and friends. Althoughsome things have changed,

appointments, driving aroundtown, trying to round up familyand friends, and coordinatingschedules to meet here and then

planning a wedding remains ahectic task. Brides still find themselves exhausted from calling, missing calls, making

go there – and that pace can lastfor months.

At all Tulsa Wedding Showevents, though, brides can relaxand take care of everything in afew hours. The Tulsa WeddingShow in Glenpool will showcase avariety of wedding professionals, including reception facilities, photographers, caterers, photobooths, videographers, florists andvenues. Best of all, they have avariety of price ranges so thatthere are choices for everyone. Nomatter the type or style of wedding each couple desires, fromformal to informal and large tosmall budgets, brides will enjoymany options available in oneplace. All of the exhibitors arehighly accommodating with agreements and down payments. Most merchants offer show-onlyspecials, so brides should ask lotsof questions.

The latest trend in weddingplanning is vintage weddings. There will be several vintage wedding specialists at the show, sotalk to them to see if “vintage” isright for you.

Exhibitors will have QRcodes at their spaces to allowbrides to scan information. Busybrides can quickly scan info aboutthe exhibitor and use the savedtime talking to the exhibitor.

At the Glenpool event, brideswill not have to wait for fashionshows. Attendees can view the latest bridal fashions with elegantdisplays in the glass-enclosed foyer.Unlike traditional fashion showsthat some brides miss because ofthe crowds, this one will last theentire day.

Beginning at 1 p.m., and thenon the hour, brides will have a

You may purchase ticketsonline at www.thetulsawedding-show.com for $8 before the showand $10 if purchased at the door.

“There are several great wedding venues that could hostour wedding show,” said Vicki,“but the Glenpool ConferenceCenter addresses several thingsthat we like.” First is location. Itis located on Highway 75 at 121stStreet South, so it has greataccessibility. And, the center iseasy to locate after exiting thehighway. The GlenpoolConference Center has severalhundred free parking spaces andan ultra-modern facility.

Vicki encourages attendeesto come to the show with anopen mind. “This is your wed-ding and there will be plenty ofnew ideas that every couple canadd to their plans to truly make ita unique event,” she says. “Someof the most talented and creativedesigners, florists, cake artists, wedding planners, gown designers, decorators, and accessory designers participate inthe show. Expect to see lots ofnew, exciting and beautiful elements to make all the events surrounding your wedding as special as the two of you!”

The Tulsa Wedding Show – Glenpool will be held Sunday, April 29at the Glenpool Conference Center from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

NNut-in Like a Good Antiqueand Craft Show

By Lorrie Ward

April, 2012 will be a busy andexciting month for The NutHouse. Easter is on April 8, andThe Nut House is already bursting with a rainbow ofbrightly colored items, perfect forholiday decorating. The bustling, busy spring season will continuefor Hazel Ward and staff, as theyprepare for DestinationClaremore’s Antique and CraftShow on Saturday and Sunday,April 28-29.

The Nut House hosted TheAntique and Craft Show forDestination Claremore last year, but this year, they are the actualsponsors of the event. “We arein the building stages of some-thing that has great promise,”says Hazel. “We had an excellentturnout last year, but this year wewould like to add more local flavor to this nostalgic event.”Hazel hopes to accomplish thisby garnering more interest fromarea antique and craft dealers.

“In the past, we’ve hadantique dealers from out of state, but we would like to see moredealers from our Green Countryarea,” Hazel relates. “Peoplewant to feel they have a piece of

embroidered items, jewelry, crafts, decorative items, and allkinds of odds and ends. “Thisevent is actually designed toshowcase handmade gift itemsfrom local artisans,” Hazelpoints out. “Last year, we had a

Oklahoma, Rogers County, orClaremore when they buy fromthis event.”

Local flavor also includes aplethora of handcrafted itemsfrom local vendors, includingtole paintings, crocheted and

booth with gourds made intobird houses.” Plenty of boothspace is still available for thosewho are interested, and applica-tions will be taken until April20. Application forms are available on the website atwww.route66nuthouse.com.

Hazel plans for booths to beoutside, weather permitting, butplenty of inside space has beenset aside should inclement conditions arise that weekend.

Destination Claremore is ayearly, weeklong event sponsoredby the Claremore Convention &Visitors Bureau, featuring fun

events for the whole family. SinceThe Nut House is located on thehistoric “Mother Road” betweenClaremore and Catoosa – and isa historic feature itself – it is theperfect spot for The Antique andCraft Show.

The Nut House will ofcourse be displaying its usualvariety of nuts, gourmet fooditems, and gifts during theAntique and Craft Show. HotMama’s Deli will be serving upits delicious lunch fare for theevent, with a full menu includingsandwiches made from BoarsHead Meat and Amish cheeses.Hazel hopes that some will wantto sample the delectable dessertitems they’ve added to the menu. With names like “Gooey ButterCake” and “Knock Ya NakedBrownies,” these sweet delightsneed no further description.

“Of course, we want peopleto come and see The Nut Houseand sample Hot Mama’s Deli,”says Hazel with a smile, “but thepurpose of DestinationClaremore is to get the word outabout Claremore, RogersCounty, and Route 66, and weare thrilled to be a part of that.”

The Nut House will host their Antique and Craft Show April 28-29 aspart of Destination Claremore week
