Dear Patti Bishop, Visual Communications Department Chair, Thank you for reaching out to me through the Graphic Artist’s Guild for this wonderful opportunity. As an experienced Freelance Graphic Designer and Business Owner/Operator, the posting for Visual Communications Adjunct Instructor with Delaware Technical Community College really piqued my interest. When reviewing the job requirements, I was excited to see that my qualifications align with your needs. After high school I attended Savannah College of Art & Design and the University of Delaware for Visual Communications. Life happened before I could graduate with my VC degree and Del-Tech gave me the ability to get back on my feet. I finished my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from UD (downstate at the Del-Tech Owens Campus). Even though I didn’t technically graduate with a VC degree I have many completed art courses and 17+ years of experience working in graphic design. I bring a set of talents and experience that I believe will be valuable to Del-Tech students. I can offer the students both the knowledge and skills needed to work in the graphic design industry both at an agency and freelance market. My critical thinking strength, people-centric nature, care, and compassion have afforded me excellent communication skills. I am excited to contribute my strengths and proficiency in collaboration toward team efforts. I am a personable communicator with a focus on building strong professional relationships and growing my skills. Please review my Curriculum Vitae, portfolio samples, and past performance for a complete collection of my work history and accomplishments.I look forward to discussing how I can help students at Del-Tech succeed. Business Owner helping school educators & leaders leverage design & marketing strategies for student growth & retention.

I am passionate about education and helping others. As an entrepreneur, I combine these passions with the love of challenges and problem solving! My mission is to help educators find the value in quality design and printing while offering affordable solutions so they can focus resources on their passion—the students!

I believe education is fundamental in the growth of all individuals at any age. I believe that learning can come through life, through others, in addition to the classroom setting. I believe we all are unique and we all have different learning styles. I believe an educator is obligated to facilitate a student’s learning in the way they learn best—is available to them, honest, and caring—with the student’s success in mind.

I plan to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations for the classroom. With these expectations, the growth of an individual is paramount! I believe understanding a student’s potential and what their goals are in life, is an important foundational component to teaching.

I believe the greatest teachers are those who have the capacity to listen and learn from their students as well.

TEST IMONIALS“We are happy to say that our entire experience was exceptional from the first phone call expressing our interest in seeing the final product in hand. The quality of the product is excellent, and we are proud to give it to our students as a keepsake of their high school experience. Valerie was so helpful, thorough, and professional. We will definitely be using Divine Imaging again in the future.” ~ Mark Hoyt, Union High School

“The product was great! But the attention that I received from Valerie was the BEST I have ever received from any retail company. She needs to be paid more :) Seriously she was available day and night and always willing to help.” ~ Tonya Haynes, Mastery Charter Hardy High School

“Valerie is wonderful to work with and very responsive to all of our design and printing needs. I highly recommend her and have referred her to others many times already. Call her with an idea and she will make it a reality. Simply Divine also finds you the best price and works within your budget. I highly recommend their work” ~ Jason Peel, Milford School District

“Schoolbooklets.com was truly an amazing company to work with. They went above and beyond any of my expectations in helping to create and produce our Virtual Presentations. The team was always accessible and the portal was very easy to manage in uploading material. I would highly recommend Schoolbooklets.com.” ~ David Shover, Millersburg High School
