Alison was told that because of the parked cars the gritters could not get down the road.Why now? In previous years, and we had parked cars but the gritters still managed. We areaware that there has been no bus for nearly a week. Will the rubbish get collected? It doesn’tlook like it.

What is the answer? Alison was advised that perhaps more salt bins might work, but as weknow this salt will just get used on drives and not on road. Alison is asking the question,‘Surely there is a smaller vehicle for residential roads? Lynton Road cannot be the only onewith this problem in our area’? Alison is waiting for a reply to this suggestion.

Alison contacted the Police, who said there is nocriminal offence as they are taxed, and alsoaccording to them not causing an obstruction.The fact that you have problems when meetingthe bus or the gritter cannot get along the roadseems lost on the Police. So Alison tried goingdown the ‘abandoned cars’ route ,but again asthey are taxed this is not possible. Alison is nowworking with Chiltern District Council to see ifanything can be done under the CleanerNeighbourhood Act. Watch this space.
