The 9460-ET Series provides cost-effective Intrinsically Safe (IS) Ethernet equipment that can be installed and maintained easily in hazardous areas.
The intrinsically safe hazardous area certification permits the com-ponents to be mounted in a Zone 1, or Division 1 hazardous area with connectivity into Zone 0 and the associated apparatus certifi-cation of the 9468-ET IS Ethernet isolator and 9491-PS IS power supply allow this equipment to be mounted in a Zone 2 hazardous area and connected to intrinsically safe equipment in a Zone 0 or 1, or Division 1 hazardous area.

The 9461-ET Ethernet Gateway gives existing Intrinsically Safe equipment “Ethernet connectivity” by allowing conventional serial communication port equipment to be connected to an Ethernet network.
Two 9-way D-type serial ports are provided which are RS232/TTL compatible. In addition, the module’s front panel screw terminals (T6 - T15) provide two RS485/RS422, 2- or 4- wire ports, giving a total of four serial ports. All ports can operate at speeds up to 115K2baud.
Various protocols are available (e.g.: Serial Modbus, Modbus/TCP, Ether-net IP etc.) in addition to Serial Tunnelling.
The 9465-ET 10/100Mbps Copper to Fibre Optic Media Converter allows an Ethernet network to be extended over a greater distance. A multi-mode fibre optic link may be up to 2km in length when running at 100Mbps and due to the use of 1300nm optics an extended distance of 5km is achievable at 10Mbps. Longer distances are achievable with single mode fibre.
Longer distances are obtained by simply connecting a 9466 (10/100Mbps Ethernet Switch) between two 9465 media converters, effectively giving a 'repeater' function (This also provides 3x UTP ports available for local net-work connectivity), this can be repeated as required.
The use of fibre optics gives exceptional immunity to noise and electrical interference, it is also used when connecting a Hazardous Area network to a Zone 2 / Safe Area network or device.

The 9466-ET 10/100Mbps, Layer 2, Ethernet switch allows the Interconnection of CSL 9400-ET series networking modules via its 5 ports. It also enables an Ethernet network to cover a greater distance using either Cat5e cable or fibre-optic for longer spans. This capability is due to the low latency 'store and forward' mechanism integral to the switch, which ensures that the stringent timing associated with Ethernet is maintained.
The 9468-ET 10/100Mbps, Isolating Ethernet Barrier allows the interconnection of a Zone 2 or un-certified safe area device to the intrinsically safe 9400-ET series of Ethernet networking products, operating in the hazardous area.
The isolating barrier provides a compact alternative solution to fibre optic cable and media converters and for when it is desirable to use Cat5e cables in preference to fibre.
The 9469-ETplus is a multi-functional module that can be used as an Access Point, Wireless Bridge (Client) or Wireless Repeater.
When used in the Access Point (AP) mode, it allows wireless devices to connect through it and onto the wired Ethernet network, either in AD-HOC or Infrastructure modes.
When used as a Bridge, it makes it possible to turn any 10/100 Ethernet device into a wireless device, or to connect two network segments together to make a single network (without the interconnecting wire or fibre optic).
Additionally the module may also be used in its Wireless Repeater (WDS) mode to extend the range covered by a wireless network.

This module is intended to simplify OEM product design and certification. It ensures full IS compatibility of interconnected devices including the current range of 9400 IS Ethernet modules and future product ranges.
As well as providing the essential network LAN interface, the module also voltage clamps the equipment’s main supply rail (typically 5V or 3V3) together these ensure the Ethernet signals generated are limited to low Intrinsically Safe levels. It is fully compatible with PoExTM (12VDC Power over Ethernet for Hazardous Areas).
The CSL ExLAN is an Intrinsically Safe (IS) 10/100Mbps Ethernet Interface incorporating CSL's patented technology.
Dimensions : 40 x 40 x 8 mm. Connection to users PCB are via 2.54mm (0.1") pitch headers.

The CSL BxLAN acts as a barrier so that an unsafe Ethernet Cable can be used in Zone 0, Zone1 and Zone 2 areas as well as Underground Coal Mines.

The BxLAN is an I.S. Interface that allows a Zone 2, uncertified safe area device, or an Ex d device to connect to other IS 9400 Series Ethernet Equipment in the Hazardous Area
It uses the same CSL Patented circuits as the ExLAN for I.S. Devices.
But uses an enhanced Voltage Clamping circuit to give non-IS Devices Ethernet connectivity.
The two ports support speeds of 10/100Mb.
It is designed to allow OEMs to integrate I.S. Ethernet into an uncertified safe area device.
The figure below illustrates the differences between the CSL ExLAN for use within existing or planned I.S. Equipment and the CSL BxLAN being applied to non-I.S. Equipment:

This module features two IS Gigabit Ethernet ports that support 10/100/1000 speeds, this is compatible with existing 9400 IS Ethernet, future 9470 Gigabit IS Ethernet and any products containing the CSL ExLAN IS Ethernet Interface including the CSL RugiCAM-IP Network Camera. A pair of these units connected together using a 2-wire twisted pair cable will enable Ethernet networks to span distances of up to 2Km without using fibre optic cables. Actual link speed between units is up to 200Mbps depending on cable length and quality. Additional units may be added along the cable length in a multi-drop type configuration if required. An Industrial (non-IS) version is also available having a line isolation voltage in excess of 1KV (2mm solid insulation) using a separate toroid line coupling unit. This allows the transmission line to be either directly coupled or by passing a core of the transmission line through the toroid coupler to achieve non-contact inductive coupling – typically onto either power or pilot cores in mining machinery trailing cables.

The 949x-PS range of CSL intrinsically safe (IS) isolated power supplies are ideal for providing power to instrumentation in hazardous process areas. They offer a wide range of different IS output voltages, ranging from 4.8V - 17.7V, offering flexibility of options to best suit a variety of applications. The 9492-PS-PLUS is the preferred method for supplying the 9400 range of CSL IS Ethernet devices to provide direct power or IS Power over Ethernet (PoExTM), a method which allows a single cable to provide both the data connection and electrical power to devices, in turn, reducing installation costs.

The 9491-PS Power Supply is the preferred method for supplying the 9460-ET series of intrinsically safe Ethernet modules and is based on an isolating power supply. It takes a 24V DC safe area / Zone 2 / Division 2 supply and produces an intrinsically Safe, 12V DC nominal output capable of powering the Ethernet modules mounted in a Zone 1 / Division 1 hazardous area. The 9491-PS maybe mounted in a safe area, Zone 2 or Division 2 hazardous area.
Each 9491-PS can power a single Ethernet module. In order to provide multiple outputs required for several Ethernet modules, the 9491-PS power supply module is ganged up to the required number of ways, either DIN rail mounted or using the power distribution backplane to simplify the 24VDC input connection to the modules.
The 9492-PS-PLUS is part of CSL’s range of next generation power supplies, providing an increased temperature range and output current.
The 9492-PS-PLUS power supply is the preferred method for supplying the 9460-ET series of intrinsically safe Ethernet modules and the RugiCAM-IP, and is based on an isolating power supply. It takes a 24V DC safe area / Zone 2 supply and produces an intrinsically safe, 12V DC nominal output capable of powering the Ethernet modules mounted in a Zone 1 hazardous area. The 9492-PS-PLUS may be mounted in a safe area or Zone 2 hazardous area.
The output can be from either the Ex ia IIB or Ex ib IIB output connectors depending upon application. The ‘ib’ IIB output providing a higher usable output power where the Gas Group and Zone allows.

The 9660-PLC is designed for hazardous-area mounting inside a suitable enclosure
with Intrinsically Safe Zone 1, ATEX and IECEx certification and Division 1 FM USA and
Canada approvals. The ATEX and IECEx approvals cover both surface industry and
mining application. Certified for use in Group 1 and Group II (Zone 1 &2). The PLC can
be operated in a wide temperature range of –20°C to +70°C.
The I/O connection to the PLC is achieved by interfacing to other 9600 series I/O Modules via an Ethernet communication fail
safe link.
Four Serial Communication Ports are available for serial remote I/O connection. Two 9-way D-type serial ports are provided
which are RS232/TTL compatible. In addition, the module’s front panel screw terminals (T6 - T15) provide two RS485/ RS422,
2- or 4- wire ports, giving a total of four serial ports. All ports can operate at speeds up to 115K baud rate.
9660 has been used in Over 100 Applications worldwide. These include the control and monitoring of the following
applications: Conveyors, Pumps, Tripper Drives, Booster Fans, Man and Standby Ventilation Fans, Methane Drainage Plants,
Switchgear Control.

The system features Bi-Directional Radio, with backup wire-bound handsets that as well as giving the operator total flexibility of machine control and the (optional) display version also enables them to access important operational information such as cutting speeds, boom heights, motor temperatures, outbye conveyor status etc. whilst still maintaining a safe distance from the operational machine.
The Radio Handsets integral Li-ion battery is charged in the Safe Area using the 7.5V Charger Unit , or Charging/Diagnostic Station connected to the handsets antenna socket, the handset’s internal charging and protection circuitry allow fully automatic charging.
The handsets are designed and certified to meet the ATEX Directive (94/9/EC) and relevant IECEx requirements. They are for use in a Hazardous Area and may remain energised when an explosive atmosphere is present.

4-20mA Flow Transducer
CSL aided in the design and development of the Conflow Code 5050A Electronic Flowmeter. The Flowmeter is manufactured by CSL and supplied to Parker Hannifin Manufacturing Ltd group who in turn sell the Flowmeters around the world.
The Flowmeter gives a linear electrical signal corresponding to the volume rate of flow of fluid in the pipeline or system.
The moving magnet causes a Hall Effect Diode to produce a signal dependent on the strength of the magnetic flux around it. In this way the flow of fluid through the meter is transduced to a directly proportional electronic signal.
The unit incorporates an on board LCD display showing rate, pressure and temperature.
The transducer is also compatible with a wide range of instruments, data loggers, display devices and outstations to provide remote display of fluid flow, fluid temperature and totalisation of flow with respect to time.
