INFORMATION SESSION: April 4 th , 3:30 PM in SAVERY 137 Study Abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico Offered Autumn Quarter. Oaxaca is the most diverse state in Mexico, with 1/3 of its residents speaking one of 16 different indigenous languages. The exposure to such a diverse culture in this region of Mexico, will provide the students a unique study abroad experience. This program will offer the opportunity for students to immerse themselves in an environment where Spanish is the primary local language. Participants in this program will be able to visit archeological and historical sites in Oaxaca City and its surroundings. Students will experience first-hand the Day of the Dead, a unique Mexican celebration. Students will also learn the ABC’s of sustainable development, gaining direct experience working at the En Vía foundation Sept 29 to Dec 9, 2016 Credits: 14-17 Available Classes: SPAN 201, 202, 203 SPAN 206/JSIS 396: Cultures of Oaxaca, 3 cr. INFORMATION SESSION: April 4th,

Study Abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico

Offered Autumn Quarter. Oaxaca is the most diverse state in Mexico, with 1/3 of its residents speaking one of 16 different indigenous languages. The exposure to such a diverse culture in this region of Mexico, will provide the students a unique study abroad experience.

This program will offer the opportunity for students to immerse themselves in an environment where Spanish is the primary local language. Participants in this program will be able to visit archeological and historical sites in Oaxaca City and its surroundings. Students will experience first-hand the Day of the Dead, a unique Mexican celebration. Students will also learn the ABC’s of sustainable development, gaining direct experience working at the En Vía foundation dedicated to improving the wellbeing of local indigenous communities.
