Standard entry criteriaFor admission to our degree courses, we would expect all applicants to meet, as a minimum, our standard entry criteria:
• 5 subject passes to include at least three at Scottish Higher Grade C, or above; or two at GCE A-Level; or an appropriate award of SQA, EdExcel, the AQA or OCR; or Irish Leaving Certificate with 5 subjects at Grade C2, or above, to include at least 3 subjects at the Higher level.
• Evidence of proficiency in Mathematics and English, usually at least at SQA Nat5 at Grade C, or above; SQA SG 1/2/3; SQA Int2; or GCSE Grade A, B or C, or ILC Ordinary at Grade C2 or above, or their equivalents. NB: some courses require GCSE passes in both English Literature and English Language.
• Where subjects other than English and Maths are identified at SQA SG/Int2/Nat5, or GCSE or ILC Ordinary level as entry requirements, a pass at Grade C (or equivalent) is required.
• In addition to standard qualifications, we will also consider other combinations of qualifications and experience.

Standard entry criteriaFor admission to our degree courses, we would expect all applicants to meet, as a minimum, our standard entry criteria:
• 5 subject passes to include at least three at Scottish Higher Grade C, or above; or two at GCE A-Level; or an appropriate award of SQA, EdExcel, the AQA or OCR; or Irish Leaving Certificate with 5 subjects at Grade C2, or above, to include at least 3 subjects at the Higher level.
• Evidence of proficiency in Mathematics and English, usually at least at SQA Nat5 at Grade C, or above; SQA SG 1/2/3; SQA Int2; or GCSE Grade A, B or C, or ILC Ordinary at Grade C2 or above, or their equivalents. NB: some courses require GCSE passes in both English Literature and English Language.

Additional InfoEntry to the BSc Psychology is very often competitive due to its popularity and we may have to use an approach called the ‘gathered field approach’ in order to select applicants which means additional information will be considered from personal statements and references plus decisions will take longer to be processed to applicants.
^ The Psychology content of the BA (page 62) and BSc programme is identical: the appropriate programme depends on students’ academic background and the other subjects they wish to study i.e. BA route for social science related, or BSc for science related study.
Please note we are currently reviewing the structure of the psychology degree and minor amendments to the module structure may take place.
