Stand-alone Gel Documentation System UVsolo TS UVsolo TS is a compact system for fast and easy gel imaging without the need for a separate computer. A high-resolution camera with light-sensitive zoom lens, a state-of-the-art touch screen and the integrated UV transilluminator with intensity setting feature are only some highlights. Applications Image documentation of fluorescent and non-fluorescent electrophoresis gels and coloured blots, stained with any of these dyes and more: Ethidium bromide, GelRed TM SYBR ® Green, SYBR ® Safe, SYBR ® Gold, GelStar ® SYPRO ® Ruby, SYPRO ® Orange Coomassie Blue Silver Stain Qdots ® UVsolo TS comes with a 1.3 megapixel scientific grade CCD camera and a light- sensitive zoom lens. A bandpass filter for ethidium bromide stains is included. It is inserted in a filter tray and can easily be replaced against optional filters for other stains. The robust darkroom is directly based on the UV transilluminator available with two different UV filter sizes: 20 cm x 20 cm or 21 cm x 26 cm. As a standard the UV table comes with a long-life filter and an intensity setting switch. “High” setting allows for UV excitation of fluorophores on gels for photography. “Medium” is excellent for viewing and quick single-band excision. “Low” setting allows for positioning and preparation of gels, excising multiple bands, and focusing for photography. The UV table is equipped with electronic ballast for fast lamp start up and no light flickering. Opening the wide access darkroom door automatically switches the UV light off. A view port with UV blocking glass is providing a clear view to the transilluminator surface for visibility of samples without opening the door. Side access doors allow moving and cutting gels under UV light without any risk for the user and for other laboratory staff. If preferred it is also possible to use the UV override switch for cutting out of gels with open darkroom door. That means individual flexibility with maximum UV protection. The UVsolo TS image acquisition software is fast and easily operated directly with the finger or with the included stylus pen on the LCD colour touch screen. The screen can individually be adjusted in its tilt. The software interface is absolutely self-explanatory. It comes with separate buttons for live view, freeze, save and print and for adjustment of the camera‘s integration time. Sample overexposure is displayed by a coloured saturation warning. Images are saved in TIF (16 bit file format), GIF or JPG format. The user can individually decide where to save the gel images: to a USB storage device, to the internal memory for later pick up or via network on a computer.
