STANDARD GENERAL NOTES1. All work shall be in accordance with applicable state and local building codes and all other governing agencies andregulations.2. Contractor shall verify all conditions and dimensions in the field prior to commencement of the work. Verify layout inrelation to property, benchmarks, and other fixed conditions. Report discrepancies to the Architect immediately upondiscovery.3. Notify Architect of discrepancies regarding the Contract Documents or design intent immediately upon discovery.Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining clarification prior to proceeding with the work or related work.4. Contractor shall obtain all required building permits and licenses.5. Contractor shall remove all rubbish and debris from the site during course of project, and dispose of legally off-site.6. Contractor shall perform all cutting, patching and protection required to complete the work indicated on the ContractDocuments.7. Contractor shall provide all inspections and tests required by state and local authorities including but not limited toearthwork, concrete, steel erection, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work. Refer to individual drawings andspecifications for additional testing requirements.8. Unless indicated otherwise in Specifications, products and manufacturers are noted to establish the type and quality ofmaterials to be provided. Contractor may submit proposed substitutions to the Architect for review, with enoughsupporting data provided for the Architect to make an evaluation. Contractor shall include costs associated withproposed substitution, including redesign, and alteration of adjacent work to accept substitution.9. All dimensions are either to face of masonry or the face of stud, unless noted otherwise. Drawings are not to be scaled.10. Install all equipment and materials per manufacturer's instructions and recommendations unless specifically otherwiseindicated, or where local codes and regulations take precedence.11. Contractor shall provide supervision while any subcontractors or workers are on the job site and shall supervise anddirect all work.12. Contractor shall be solely responsible for all construction means, methods, techniques, sequences, procedures, sitesafety, erosion and sedimentation control, and coordinating the work of all trades under the contract.13. No products containing asbestos or other hazardous materials shall be installed on this project or used during theconstruction of the project. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to certify to the Owner that this requirementhas been met. Subcontractors shall verify to the Contractor that no asbestos or other hazardous products are used intheir work.14. Locations of rated fire/smoke separations and/or fire resistive structural protection are shown on documents. Providecomplete assemblies to meet fire resistive requirements of the project including protection of structural elements andfire separation assemblies. Maintain the integrity of these assemblies at openings and penetrations including but notlimited to fire or smoke dampers in ductwork, light fixture protection, electrical device box ratings, expansion joints,and sealants. Provide this protection by using complete building component systems approved by recognized authoritiessuch as Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., Factory Mutual, or other building code accepted agencies. It is theresponsibility of the Contractor to coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to accomplish this work during bidding,procurement, scheduling, sequencing and construction of the project.15. Delegated Design: When professional design services or certifications related to systems, materials, or equipment arerequired by these documents, the Architect/Engineer will specify performance and design criteria that such servicesmust satisfy. The Contractor shall cause such services and certifications to be provided by a properly licensed designprofessional, whose signature and seal shall appear on all drawings, calculations, Shop Drawings and other relatedsubmittals. The Owner and Architect/Engineer shall be entitled to rely upon the accuracy and completeness of thosedelegated services. The Architect/Engineer will review submittals only for the limited purpose of checking forconformance with the performance and design criteria..

THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF REPLACING THE EXISTING FIBERGLASS DOME & METAL PANEL FROM THE BUILDING 3 AT THE UNIVERSITY APARTMENTS ON THE DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS AND REPAIRING THE PORTION OF 4TH FLOOR ROOMS WITH WATER DAMAGE FROM EXISTING LEAKING DOME ROOF.
GENERAL
AIA DOCUMENT A201, GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION, ARE HEREBY INCORPORATED INTO THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AS IF COMPLETELY REPRODUCED HEREIN, EXCEPT AS SPECIFICALLY MODIFIED BY THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
ALL WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL CODES, APPLICABLE LAWS AND REGULATIONS, AND ALL APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS OF REGULATORY AGENCIES. IF THERE IS CONFLICT AMONG THE DRAWINGS, SPECIFICATIONS, OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, CODES OR REGULATIONS, THE STRICTEST STANDARDS SHALL APPLY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT IMMEDIATELY IF THERE IS SUCH A CONFLICT WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
ITEMS OF WORK INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS, BUT NOT SPECIFIED, AND ITEMS OF WORK SPECIFIED, BUT NOT SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, SHALL BE CONSIDERED REQUIRED AS IF INDICATED IN BOTH. DRAWINGS ARE INTENDED TO SHOW GENERAL ARRANGEMENT, DESIGN, AND EXTENT OF WORK, AND ARE PARTLY DIAGRAMMATIC. THEY ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE SCALED FOR ROUGH-IN MEASUREMENTS OR TO SERVE AS SHOP DRAWINGS.
VERIFY ALL PROJECT CONDITIONS, DIMENSIONS, AND DETAILS PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION. IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT IN WRITING OF ANY DISCREPANCIES IN THE DOCUMENTS FOR CORRECTION BY THE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.
ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED BY SKILLED MECHANICS EXPERIENCED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE TRADES. INSTALL ITEMS IN ACCURATE LOCATION, PLUMB, LEVEL, SQUARE, PARALLEL, STRAIGHT, FLUSH, IN PLANE LINE, TRUE TO SHAPE, AND NEAT. CHECK THE WORK OF EACH TRADE FOR SOUNDNESS OF CONSTRUCTION, LOCATION, WORKMANSHIP AND OTHER SUITABILITY, AND PROCEED ONLY AFTER ALL IMPERFECTIONS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED.
AS WORK PROGRESSES, KEEP THE PROJECT SITE FREE FROM ACCUMULATION OF WASTE MATERIALS, DEBRIS, AND RUBBISH. AT THE COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT, REMOVE FROM THE BUILDING AND SURROUNDING AREA ALL WASTE MATERIALS, DEBRIS, EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, SCAFFOLDING. SURPLUS MATERIALS NOT OTHERWISE INDICATED TO BE RETAINED BY THE OWNER SHALL ALSO BE REMOVED FORM THE SITE.
MODIFICATION PROCEDURES
OWNER-INITIATED CHANGE ORDER PROPOSAL REQUESTS: THE ARCHITECT WILL ISSUE A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE WORK THAT REQUIRE AN ADJUSTMENT IN THE CONTRACT SUM OR TIME. THE DESCRIPTION MAY INCLUDE SUPPLEMENTAL OR REVISED DRAWINGS OR SPECIFICATIONS. PROPOSAL REQUESTS ARE FOR INFORMATION ONLY AND ARE NOT AN INSTRUCTION TO STOP WORK, OR TO EXECUTE THE PROPOSED CHANGE. WITHIN 14 CALENDAR DAYS, SUBMIT AN THE COST NECESSARY TO EXECUTE THE CHANGE FOR THE OWNER'S REVIEW. INCLUDE AN ITEMIZED LIST OF PRODUCTS REQUIRED AND UNITS COSTS, ALONG WITH ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS INCLUDING MARKUPS AND OVERHEAD. INDICATE THE EFFECT ON THE CONTRACT SUM AND THE CONTRACT TIME.
CONTRACTOR-INITIATED PROPOSALS: WHEN UNFORESEEN CONDITIONS REQUIRE MODIFICATIONS, THE CONTRACTOR MAY SUBMIT A REQUEST FOR A CHANGE TO THE OWNER AND ARCHITECT. DESCRIBE THE PROPOSED CHANGE. INDICATE THE REASONS FOR THE CHANGE AND THE EFFECT OF THE CHANGE ON THE CONTRACT SUM AND THE CONTRACT TIME. INCLUDE AN ITEMIZED LIST OF THE PRODUCTS REQUIRED AND UNIT COSTS, ALONG WITH ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS INCLUDING MARKUPS AND OVERHEAD.
COORDINATION
COORDINATE CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS INCLUDED IN THE VARIOUS TRADES OF THE WORK TO ASSURE EFFICIENT AND ORDERLY INSTALLATION OF EACH PART OF THE WORK. COORDINATE CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS OF DIFFERENT TRADES THAT DEPEND ON EACH OTHER FOR PROPER INSTALLATION, CONNECTION, AND OPERATION.
SCHEDULE CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS IN THE SEQUENCE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN THE BEST RESULTS WHERE INSTALLATION OF ONE PART OF THE WORK DEPENDS ON THE INSTALLATION OF OTHER COMPONENTS, BEFORE OR AFTER ITS OWN INSTALLATION.
MAKE PROVISIONS TO ACCOMMODATE ITEMS SCHEDULED FOR LATER INSTALLATION.
INSPECTION OF CONDITIONS: REQUIRE THE INSTALLER OF EACH MAJOR COMPONENT TO INSPECT BOTH THE SUBSTRATE AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH THE WORK IS TO BE PERFORMED. DO NOT PROCEED UNTIL UNSATISFACTORY CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN CORRECTED IN AN ACCEPTABLE MANNER.
COORDINATE TEMPORARY ENCLOSURES WITH REQUIRED INSPECTIONS AND TESTS TO MINIMIZE THE NECESSITY OF UNCOVERING COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION FOR THAT PURPOSE.
SUBMITTALS
COORDINATE SUBMITTAL PREPARATION WITH CONSTRUCTION, FABRICATION, AND OTHER SUBMITTALS, AND ACTIVITIES THAT REQUIRE SEQUENTIAL OPERATIONS. TRANSMIT IN ADVANCE OF CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS TO AVOID DELAY. SUBMITTALS SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR ALL WORK OF THE PROJECT.
PROCESSING: ALLOW (7) CALENDAR DAYS FOR REVIEW. ALLOW MORE TIME IF THE ARCHITECT MUST DELAY PROCESSING TO PERMIT COORDINATION. THE ARCHITECT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO WITHHOLD ACTION ON A SUBMITTAL REQUIRING COORDINATION UNTIL RELATED SUBMITTALS ARE RECEIVED.
SHOP DRAWINGS: SUBMIT NEWLY PREPARED INFORMATION DRAWN TO SCALE. INDICATE DEVIATIONS FROM THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. DO NOT REPRODUCE THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS OR COPY STANDARD INFORMATION. SUBMIT DIGITAL PDF FILE WITH SHEETS AT LEAST 8-1/2 INCHES BY 11 INCHES BUT NO LARGER THAN 30 INCHES BY 42 INCHES. THE ARCHITECT WILL REVIEW DIGITAL COPY AND RETURN WITH MARKS INDICATING ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN.
SAMPLES: SUBMIT FULL-SIZE SAMPLES CURED AND FINISHED AS SPECIFIED, AND IDENTICAL WITH THE MATERIAL PROPOSED. MOUNT THE SAMPLES TO FACILITATE REVIEW OF QUALITIES. SUBMIT SAMPLES FOR REVIEW OF SIZE, KIND, COLOR, PATTERN, AND TEXTURE, FOR A CHECK OF THESE CHARACTERISTICS, AND FOR A COMPARISON OF THESE CHARACTERISTICS BETWEEN THE FINAL SUBMITTAL AND THE ACTUAL COMPONENT AS DELIVERED AND INSTALLED.
PRODUCT DATA: COLLECT PRODUCT DATA INTO A SINGLE SUBMITTAL FOR EACH ELEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION. MARK EACH COPY TO SHOW APPLICABLE CHOICES AND OPTIONS. WHERE PRODUCT DATA INCLUDES INFORMATION ON SEVERAL PRODUCTS, MARK COPIES TO INDICATE APPLICABLE INFORMATION. SUBMIT DIGITAL COPY. THE ARCHITECT WILL REVIEW DIGITAL COPY AND RETURN WITH MARKS INDICATING ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
SOURCE LIMITATIONS: TO THE FULLEST EXTENT POSSIBLE. PROVIDE PRODUCTS OF THE SAME KIND FROM A SINGLE SOURCE.
DELIVER, STORE AND HANDLE PRODUCTS ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS, USING MEANS AND METHODS THAT WILL PREVENT DAMAGE, DETERIORATION, AND LOSS, INCLUDING THEFT. STORE PRODUCTS SUBJECT TO DAMAGE BY THE ELEMENTS ABOVE GROUND, UNDER COVER IN A WEATHER TIGHT ENCLOSURE, WITH VENTILATION ADEQUATE TO PREVENT CONDENSATION. MAINTAIN TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY WITHIN THE RANGE REQUIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS.
PROVIDE WEATHER-RESISTANT AND DUST PROOF TEMPORARY ENCLOSURES AROUND CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS.
PROPRIETARY SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: WHERE SPECIFICATIONS NAME ONLY A SINGLE PRODUCT OR MANUFACTURER, PROVIDE THE PRODUCT SPECIFIED OR SUBMIT SUBSTITUTION REQUEST WITH DATA FOR ARCHITECT DETERMINATION EQUAL.
SEMI-PROPRIETARY SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: WHERE SPECIFICATIONS NAME 2 OR MORE PRODUCTS OR MANUFACTURERS, PROVIDE ONE OF THE PRODUCTS INDICATED.
DESCRIPTIVE SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: WHERE SPECIFICATION DESCRIBE A PRODUCT OR ASSEMBLY, LISTING EXACT CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED, WITH OR WITHOUT THE USE OF A BRAND NAME PROVIDE A PRODUCT OR ASSEMBLY THAT PROVIDES THE CHARACTERISTICS AND OTHERWISE COMPLIES WITH THE CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS.
SUBSTITUTIONS
MANUFACTURERS AND PRODUCTS INDICATED ARE CONSIDERED STANDARD OF DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE. ALTERNATE PRODUCTS BY APPROVED MANUFACTURERS DEEMED EQUIVALENT BY THE ARCHITECT WILL BE ACCEPTABLE. THE ARCHITECT WILL CONSIDER WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR SUBSTITUTIONS RECEIVED NOT LESS THAN 10 DAYS PRIOR TO END OF THE BIDDING PERIOD. ALTERNATES SUBMITTED AFTER THIS TIME CANNOT BE REVIEWED. PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION:
1. COMPLETE PRODUCT INFORMATION AND OTHER DATA2. COORDINATION INFORMATION, INCLUDING A LIST OF CHANGES NECESSARY TO ACCOMMODATE THE SUBSTITUTION3. COMPARISON OF THE SUBSTITUTION WITH THE WORK SPECIFIED, INCLUDING PERFORMANCE AND VISUAL EFFECT4. SAMPLES, WHERE APPLICABLE OR REQUESTED5. THE EFFECT OF THE SUBSTITUTION ON THE CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE AND CONTRACT TIME6. COST INFORMATION, INCLUDING ANY PROJECTED NET CHANGE TO THE CONTRACT SUM7. CERTIFICATION THAT THE SUBSTITUTION CONFORMS TO THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND IS APPROPRIATE FOR THE APPLICATIONSINDICATED
ALLOWANCES
CERTAIN ITEMS ARE SPECIFIED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS BY ALLOWANCES. IT HAS A FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, AND FOURTH FLOOR PLUSA PARTIAL ATTIC SUPPORTING THE DOME. THE BUILDING’S PRIMARY USE IS A RESIDENCEHALL. THE STRUCTURE IS PRIMARILY WOOD-FRAMED WITH MANUFACTURED WOOD ROOFTRUSSES.B. THE CENTER CORNER OF THE BUILDING CONSISTS OF AN ENTRY AND LOBBY. THE FIBERGLASS DOME AND ATTIC ARE LOCATED ABOVE THE FOURTH-FLOOR LOBBY.C. IT IS OUR UNDERSTANDING THAT THE EXISTING FIBERGLASS DOME WILL BE REMOVED AND REPLACED IN-KIND.
II. STRUCTURAL ENGINEER FINDINGS OF EXISTING CONDITIONSA. GENERAL:
1. WE OBSERVED SIGNIFICANT LEVELS OF WATER PENETRATION THROUGH ANDAROUND THE EXISTING FIBERGLASS DOME, RESULTING IN VARIOUS LEVELS OFLOCALIZED DETERIORATION OF WOOD FRAMING MEMBERS.
B. ATTIC ROOF TRUSSES SUPPORTING DOME:1. THE SUPPORT DIRECTLY BELOW THE FIBERGLASS DOME AT THE ATTIC ROOFCONSISTS OF A PLYWOOD SUBFLOOR ON (17) 4’-6” DEEP MANUFACTURED WOODTRUSSES AT APPROXIMATELY 24” O.C. THERE ARE 3 ROWS OF EXISTING BOTTOMCHORD BRACING AND (1) ROW OF DIAGONAL STABILITY BRACING AT THE CENTERPANEL POINT.2. THIRTEEN (13) OF THE WOOD TRUSSES ARE CLEAR SPANNING (APPROXIMATELY34’) AND ARE CURRENTLY ONLY LOADED BY THE DOME AT ITS PERIMETER.3. FOUR (4) OF THE WOOD TRUSSES HAVE CENTER BEARING ON THE CENTER STUDWALLS. THEY ARE CURRENTLY LOADED AT THE PERIMETER OF THE DOME AND ALSO AT A CENTER RING OF STEEL ANGLES SUPPORTING KICKERS UP TO THEDOME.4. PORTIONS OF THE PLYWOOD SUBFLOOR AND TRUSS TOP AND/OR BOTTOMCHORDS SHOW SIGNS OF WATER DAMAGE MAINLY AT THE PERIMETER OF THEDOME/TRUSS BEARING LOCATIONS.
C. ATTIC WALLS SUPPORTING TRUSSES:1. ATTIC BEARING WALLS ARE APPROXIMATELY 8’-3” TALL.2. THE INNER CIRCULAR BEARING WALL (± 35’) CONSISTS OF 2X6 WOOD STUDS ATAPPROXIMATELY 12” O.C. THE WALL HAS A TRIPLE 2X6 WOOD TOP PLATE AND ASINGLE 2X6 WOOD BOTTOM PLATE. THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE WALL ISSHEATHED WITH PLYWOOD. PORTIONS OF THE INNER STUD WALL SHOW VARYINGSIGNS OF WATER DAMAGE, VARYING FROM SLIGHT WATER STAINING TO AREAS OFSIGNIFICANTLY DISINTEGRATED WOOD.3. THE OUTER CIRCULAR BEARING WALL (± 42’ DIAMETER) CONSISTS OF 2X6 WOODSTUDS AT APPROXIMATELY 12” O.C. WITH SIMILAR CONSTRUCTION AS THE INNERSTUD WALL INCLUDING PLYWOOD SHEATHING ON THE OUTER SURFACE. THIS WALLALSO HAS VARYING LEVELS OF WATER DAMAGE.4. THE CENTER RECTANGULAR BEARING WALL CONSISTS OF 2X6 WOOD STUDS ATAPPROXIMATELY 16” O.C WITH A SINGLE 2X6 TOP AND BOTTOM PLATE WITH NOSHEATHING OR BLOCKING. THE CENTER WALLS SUPPORT THE CENTER (4) TRUSSES.
D. ATTIC FLOOR TRUSSES:1. THE ATTIC FLOOR CONSISTS OF A PLYWOOD SUBFLOOR ON 5’-8” DEEP PARALLELCHORD MANUFACTURED WOOD TRUSSES AT APPROXIMATELY 12” O.C. WITH AGYPSUM FINISHED CEILING. THE SUPPORT OF THE CENTER RECTANGULAR BEARINGWALLS CONSISTS OF 18” LVL BEAMS.2. PORTIONS OF THE PLYWOOD SUBFLOOR SHOW SIGNS OF SIGNIFICANT WATERDAMAGE.3. TWO TRUSSES BELOW THE BEARING POINTS OF TRUSS T13 & T14 ARE ASSUMEDTO HAVE WATER DAMAGE.4. THE APPLIED LOADS ON THESE TRUSSES CHANGES SLIGHTLY BUT NOTSIGNIFICANTLY. THESE TRUSSES ARE DIFFICULT TO ACCESS AND WITHOUT TRUSS SHOPDRAWINGS WE WERE NOT ABLE TO VERIFY THAT THE ORIGINAL TRUSS DESIGN WAS ADEQUATE, HOWEVER WE SAW NO EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY.
III. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING REPAIRS;A. GENERAL:
1. ALL AREAS OF SOFT, SPONGY AND/OR DISINTEGRATED WOOD SHALL BECONSIDERED DETERIORATED. THE FULL EXTENTS OF DETERIORATED WOOD SHALLBE FIELD VERIFIED.2. ALL AREAS OF DISCOLORATION SHOULD BE CLEANED AND TREATED TO AVOIDFURTHER DETERIORATION.3. REFERENCE THE ATTACHED PARTIAL FRAMING PLANS.4. CAREFULLY DEMOLISH ALL DAMAGED OR DETERIORATED GWB WALL FINISH DOWN TO FACE OF STUDS WHERE INDICATED BACK TO THE NEAREST EXISTING SUPPORT NECESSARY FOR PATCHING AND REPAIRS.
1. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, ALL DIMENSIONS ARE FROM FACE OF WALL FINISH OR MASONRY
2. PARTITIONS ABOVE OPENINGS SHALL BE THE SAME AS THE PARTITIONS BESIDE THE OPENING.
3. PROVIDE WOOD BLOCKING IN PARTITIONS FOR FIXTURES, ACCESSORIES AND THE INSTALLATIONS OF CABINETS OR COUNTERTOPS AS PER MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATIONS.
4. ALL PENETRATIONS THROUGH DRYWALL AND MASONRY SURFACES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PIPE, CONDUIT, DUCTWORK, GRILLES, REGISTERS, DEVICE BOXES, HANGER RODS, ETC. SHALL HAVE THEIR COMMON JOINTS WITH DRYWALL AND/OR MASONRY CAULKED TO PROVIDE AN AIR-TIGHT SEAL.
5. CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE ANY STRAY PAINT, DIRT, OR STAINS INCURRED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING ALL TEMPORARY EQUIPMENT COVERINGS USED DURING CONSTRUCTION.
6. PROVIDE FRAMED OPENINGS AS REQUIRED FOR MECH AND ELECT EQUIPMENT PENETRATIONS.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL TEMPORARILY REMOVE AND RE-INSTALL ALL LIGHT FIXTURES INDICATED AFTER CEILING REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED. TEST ALL FIXTURES PRIOR TO RE-INSTALLATION AND REPLACE ANY NON-FUNCTIONAL FIXTURES TO MATCH EXISTING.
8. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE REINSTALLATION OF ALL IT EQUIPMENT (WIFI, SPEAKERS, ETC) WITH OWNERS IT VENDORS/ CONTRACTOR AFTER CEILING REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED.
9. CONTRACTOR SHALL REINSTALL ALL FIRE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (SMOKE DETECTORS, STROBE LIGHTS, ETC) TEMPORARILY REMOVED DURING REPAIRS AFTER THE CEILING REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED.
NEW WORK NOTES GWB NOTES
1. ALL GWB PATCH AND REPAIRS TO CEILINGS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS REQUIRED TO MEET THE EXISTING 1 HR FIRE RATED ASSEMBLY UL DESIGN NO P522, MIN. (1) LAYER OF 5/8" GWB TYPE X ON 1/2" RESILIENT CHANNELS ON THE BOTTOM WOOD TRUSSES.
2. ALL GWB PATCH AND REPAIRS TO LOADBEARING WALLS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS REQUIRED TO MEET THE EXISTING 1 HR FIRE RATED ASSEMBLY UL DESIGN NO U305, MIN. (1) LAYER OF 5/8" GWB TYPE X ON BOTH SIDES OF WD 2x4 or 2x6 STUDS AT 16" OC.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL MOISTURE RESISTANT BOARD ON ALL WET LOCATIONS.
4. CONSTRUCT THE HIGHER RATED PARTITION FIRST, THEN PROCEED TO THE LOWER RATED PARTITIONS.
5. PROVIDE WOOD BLOCKING IN PARTITIONS FOR FIXTURES, ACCESSORIES, AND THE INSTALLATION OF GRAB BARS AS PER MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS.
6. COORDINATE LOCATIONS OF FIRE RATED PARTITIONS WITH REQUIREMENTS NOTED ON THE CODE PLANS.
7. MATCH EXISTING SIZES AND FINISHES (UNO) FOR ALL WOOD CABINET AND PLASTIC LAMINATE COUNTERTOPS/ TRANSACTION TOPS REPLACEMENTS.
8. PROVIDE WALL AND CEILING PATCH/ REPAIRS TO EXISTING GWB WITH A SMOOTH AND COPLANAR FINISH WITH THE EXISTING SURROUNDING SURFACES.
9. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL CONTROL JOINTS IN ALL NEW GWB INSTALLED IN LENGTHS OR AREAS GREATER THAN 20'-0" IN EITHER DIRECT.
