MEDIA RELEASE

PANORAMIC 1907 RESTAURANT IS READY FOR STARTERS (AND OTHER) ORDERS(1907 Restaurant to open for Midlands Grand National, 19 March)

Around 300 racegoers attending the Betfred Midlands Grand National will be the first diners

to experience the all-new 1907 restaurant at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Saturday 19 March.

The tasty combination of sumptuous food and sweeping views is likely to be a recipe for

success for the striking new £600,000 floor-to-ceiling glass-fronted restaurant.

“Our new facility, which replaces the old Silks Restaurant, will cater for up to 300 guests on

racedays, and will also be able to host conferences and events on non-racedays throughout

the year,” says Uttoxeter Racecourse Executive Director David MacDonald. “It will offer

racegoers the opportunity to dine while enjoying some fantastic views of the track for the first

time. And unlike many other panoramic restaurants at racetracks around the UK, of course,

Uttoxeter’s rural location means that it offers some spectacular countryside views.”

1907 takes its name from the year when racing was first introduced to this corner of

Staffordshire.

The vastly improved facilities will be complemented by a contemporary interior design

styling…and an ever-changing menu, which is currently being honed to perfection by Head

Chef Emmett Cassidy and Catering General Manager Anthony Gledhill.

1907 will offer an “understated” menu but will more than impress on the plate. Final dishes

have yet to be determined, but there is already talk of Emmett’s famous terrine of duck, roast

chicken and artichoke mash, and herb-crusted loin of cod with butter mash.

Following its opening on 19 March, 1907 will become fully operational for all other race

meetings, events, conferences, and party nights held at Uttoxeter Racecourse throughout

the year.
