RAB(Radio Access Bearer) is the processor responsible for handling traffic of users (Voice/R99/HSPA).

TMU(Traffic Management Unit) processor is responsible for handling RRC signalling.

Indicator VS.ApCpuUtilizationAvg (U20202) is used to get the load on AP(Adjunct processor)level.

RAB processors are equally balanced, as loading is being done automatically in case of RAB.

TMU traffic loading is being done manually, so it needs good design to map sites on TMU boards.

Most loaded processor/hour is selected to represent the TMU/RAB utilization.

Normally we have three types of configuration for CEM , one CEM/Two CEMs/Three CEMs per site based on strategy, traffic and number of carriers.

Normal way is to get the DL&UL CEM utilization by dividing CEM load/CEM capacity.

Formula for DL CEM usage is BH(U10310_3_Cum/(U10310_3_Cum+U10310_2_Cum ) ,similar formula exist for UL NodeB level counters.

There is a problem in U10310 counters as DL and UL CEM usage counters don’t include HSPA, it only include R99 usage.

There is counters group U10317 that include all R99/HSPA recourses, but no split for DL and UL.

We are using CEM CPU load to indicate the real usage of CEM (VS_cpuLoad_CEM_Avg 10403) , this was to detect balancing problem between CEM boards CEM Board level indicator .

Most loaded board/hour is selected to represent the site CEM utilization.

- Iub load is calculated on ipif(IP interface) level.

- DL load=UP DL load+CP DL load.

Hourly DL Load in kbits= BH(((8.0*1.024)*(VS_IubIpCPlaneKbytesSent (U3072 ) +VS_IPTrafficInKbytesSentPerIpIf(U3065))))/3600.

- UL load=UP UL load+CP UL load.

- We calculating Max load during day as BH load.

- We aren’t able to get capacity for each site from NPO, Also there is no accurate indicator/counter to get the physical Iub capacity only way is to get it from TX team.

- We are calculating Iub utilization based on designed capacity which can be different from real physical Iub capacity.

- One IP Link carry all Iu interfaces-VLANS.

- -Each Iu interface have two VLANS, one is active and other one is standby.

- Below is the mapping of IuCS/IuPS on VLANs

- Counters VS_rxBytes_VLAN(U20304_VLAN),VS_txBytes_VLAN(U20305_VLAN) are used to get the DL/UL traffic carried on each VLAN

- Iu DL load in Mbits=BH(VS_rxBytes_VLAN(U20304_VLAN UP+CP)*8)/(3600*1000000)

- We have 1 G link carry all Iu interfaces

- IuPS utilization is calculated based on

1G capacity

- IuCS utilization is calculated based on

0.1G capacity
