Dear Parents
We appreciate all the parents that have been helping out in the classrooms over the past year. It
has been a very busy year and we have already hit October
We did have our 1/2 day closing last month for in-service. This is a much needed and required train-
ing and it gives both sites a time to work and train together.
Thanks again for all your support and help.
Cindy
Hello Parents!
I know I have already been here a month but I wanted to say thank you all so much for how kind and patient
you have been as I learn about your little ones and how the center runs. I have absolutely loved my time here
so far! If you have any questions about me or for me, always know you can ask me anything!
For the month of October, we will be learning all about Fall! We will experience fall through our senses with
leaves, pumpkins, and hay. We will also be learning about the changing weather with nature walks (weather
permitting) and we will learn about how we have to wear more layers when it is colder outside.
I can't wait to continue to get to know you all and your little ones. If you have any comments, questions, or
concerns please let me know!
Happy to join the team!
Mrs. Jessica
Congrats! Pearse Greiner will be moving up to young toddlers on October 1! We will miss your energy but we

Dear Parents,
The children had a great deal of fun learning about Apples, Corn and fall leaves (and colors).
The month of October will also be a fun one for our toddlers. We will be making a scarecrow,
playing with hay, experimenting with different types of gourds, opening a pumpkin to see what is
inside, and cooking and eating pumpkin seeds and pumpkin muffins. Please keep an eye on the
door for sign- ups to bring grocery type items.
Gentle Reminders:
Please check your child’s cubby bag for cooler weather clothing.
Entering with and washing hands with your child is a helpful routine and a
gentle way to begin saying goodbye in the mornings.

Dear Parents,
For the month of October, the Older Toddlers will be learning all about fall. We will focus on a dif-
ferent fall food(s) each week.
During our fall foods unit, we will be tasting and exploring some different foods. We will need par-
ents to help with this unit by bringing in the foods we will be discussing. Besides just tasting the
foods, we will be examining them, discussing their colors and sizes and even counting them.
Thank you for your support.

Dear Parents,
Last month the children had an enjoyable time with our units on apples and fall. We did a lot of taste testing
with apple products, learned three different types of apples and the five parts of an apple. We ended our
apple unit with the preschool class baking an apple pie. The children learned about the words ingredients
and measurements. All the children were given an opportunity to scoop pie filling, add spices and learned
how to knead the dough. Our finished product was delicious.
We also did a lot of fun fall activities including creating a collage with materials collected from the children’s
fall nature walk and painting with leaves and fall colors.
Thank you to all our parents who donated apple products for our apple unit.
Fall is officially here. Please be sure to check your child’s cubby for appropriate change of clothes.
Our themes for October are: Fire Safety and Pumpkins
It is a joy to serve you and your family, and as always
thank you for your continuing support.
Thanks, Ms. Hilda and Ms. Jean

Dear Families,
We’ve enjoyed a great September, and look forward to
October! We’ve been enjoying our Related Arts classes
in the “big school”: Spanish, P.E., and Music. Our new
friends and old friends have been getting to know each
other, and the things to explore in our room. There’s
been mask-making and bread-baking, and lots of fun!
As always, let us know if you have any questions, con-
cerns, or comments :)
Thanks, Anna and Tyler

Toddler 2 Toddler II Parents,
Fall is here. The weather has started to change a bit and it might be a good idea to break out the lightweight jackets. We
are going to welcome in the changing of the season with the following themes:
Fire Safety
Fall Weather
Pumpkins
Farm Animals
This should be a good month of learning for our class.
Parent/Teacher conferences are coming up at the end of the month. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside of the class-
room. Please make sure you sign up for your desired timeframe.
Join us in welcoming Callie Kaiser and Logan Deakins
Help us say goodbye to Aubrey Fike, Sarah McMinn, and Brodie Gillenwater
Cold and flu season is just around the corner. Please wash your hands as well
as your child’s hands when you enter the classroom.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Kathy and Catherine
Dear Preschool One Parents,
We learned so much in September! We learned about our grandparents, apples, and the
fall season. We love doing our science experiments during the apple theme! We got to
taste 3 different types of apples and compare apple juice and apple cider. We also got to
taste a yummy apple cobbler! Thank you to everyone who brought an apple product!
At the end of September we started to learn about fall, and we will continue that theme
into the first week of October. We are also going to learn about colors and shapes, pump-
kins, and Halloween. We are going to paint pumpkins on the 25th
of October.
In October we say goodbye to Vivian and Smith as they move on to Preschool Two. We
will welcome three friends from T2. As the weather (hopefully) starts to change, please
remember to check your child’s bag for weather appropriate clothing. We are going to
have a great October!

Dear PreK Up families,
Autumn has begun and we are so excited for cooler weather and fun!
Our Fall Festival will be at the end of the month so don’t miss this afternoon of
face painting, games, food, and more! Rumor has it that this may be a pajama
or costume day as well. Stay tuned…
What fun we had on our annual field trip to the UTC Challenger Center! We rode the Mocs Express bus to and from
the center, and learned so many things about space. It was a perfect addition to our outer space unit.
In October we will be learning about pumpkins, nocturnal animals, imaginary creatures, and more.
We welcome two new students to our class this month. We’re excited to have Cathleen and Rosalia with us in
PreK Up!
Please make sure your child wears weather appropriate clothing. As the seasons change so
does the weather. Be sure your child’s extra complete sets of clothing including shoes and
socks are weather appropriate. We go outside unless it is below 32 degrees or above 95
degrees.
As always, we are grateful and thank you for all you do for our class. You are awesome!

Dear Preschool 2 Parents,
Fall is my favorite time the year- all the trees changing colors, comfort foods, and cooler weather. This
month we will discuss Apples, Fall, Nocturnal Animals, and Imaginary Creatures.
We say goodbye to Bailey, Cathleen, Rosalia, and Will as they move up to Pre-k we are going to miss
them but are excited for them and their new classes. We want to welcome Adaleine, Gus, Vivian, Smith,
and their Families to Preschool 2! We are so excited to have them in our class!
Our Fall Festival will be this month (more details on when it will be soon). There will be games, snacks,
face painting, and pumpkin painting. The children can dress up in their favorite costume or wear their favorite pajamas. Parents are
encouraged to come and walk around with their child during the festival. We will have a sign-up sheet outside the classroom for
your help in bringing some supplies for this.
Just a reminder- As the weather is changing please make sure your child has a jacket for chilly mornings, along with 2 extra sets of
weather appropriate clothes in their bags for accidents (underwear, pants, shirt, and socks). Please make sure the clothes still fit
your child. Thank you for your help in this!
Thank you for your help bringing a family picture! We are updating our “Family Tree” area in the classroom so that the children can
enjoy seeing their family pictures.
A big thank you to Ben Winters (Vivian’s Dad) for bringing the Ambulance for
the children to see and talking to us about being a Paramedic. The kids really
enjoyed getting to learn about those in the medical field who help keep us and
our community safe!
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns,
Mrs. Leah and Mrs. Kimberlee
Dear Pre-K Downstairs Parents,
October is a fun-filled, busy month! We will be getting two new students this month – Bailey and Will
will start in our classroom. Please help us to make them feel welcome. We will be learning about
autumn, pumpkins, nocturnal animals, and imaginary creatures this month. There are so many fun
activities planned!
We will also have our Fall Harvest near the end of this month. We will have games, pumpkin paint-
ing, face painting, cookie decorating, and snacks all located in the hallway and classrooms. We will
party from 3:30 to 5:00. Please come and join your child(ren) in all the fun!
We also usually have our Scholastic Book Fair in October. There will
be a sign-up sheet, if you would like to volunteer to help out. Please
try to come by and purchase books for the classroom or for your
child. Each classroom has a “wish list” of books they would like. If
you would just like to shop for your child, that is
great too! Each purchase helps the Children’s
Center earn credit that we can use to get
books.
Thank you,
Pre K Downstairs
