Inpresentinghisarticle Imade it clear IheldamoreRomanticviewofMasonry, much like Albert Pike’s who clearly intended to get to the essence of the PerennialPhilosophy—the“FatherhoodofGod,theBrotherhoodofmen,andtheImmortalityofthesoul.”Pikebelievedthatgettinghunguponwordsanddogmatismwasattherootofconflictsamongtheworld’sreligionsandideologies.But,likeRomanticssincethedawnofMankind,Pikefeltknowledgeisavailabletoallmeneverywhere,asagiftoftheIneffabletothosewho‘divestthemofalldistinctionsandequipmentthatarenotinkeepingwithHumble,ReverentandChildlikenaturewhichisnowourdutytoassume.”Inotherwords,“NeitherMithraismorFreemasonrybelongsultimatelytohistorians.Theyaremattersoftheheartandsoul,andbytheirverynaturebeyondthelawsandnarrowdefinitionofdiscursivethoughts.”*

I respectfully disagreed in that educational, eliciting comiccomments like “you know more than De Hoyos.” LOL, but, in my view, Esoterica is notfoundedonany“isms,”buttheopennesstobegiftedabasicknowledgeofwhoweareinrelationshiptoGod,regardlessofourstudiesandbeliefs.

From the High Priest & Prophet It is Trowel Time

Hey, my brother nobles, it is summer. It is time for each of us to dig out our trowel and put it to work. We all have some trowel work to do. I know I do. You do remember the purpose of your trowel, don’t you? The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Freemasonry by S. Brent Morris at page 221 defines the trowel as follows:

“The trowel is an instrument used by operative Masons to spread the cement which unites the several parts of a building into one common mass; but we, as Free and Accepted Masons, are

taught to use it for the more noble and glorious purpose of spreading the cement of brotherly love and affection; that cement which unites us into one sacred band or society of friends and brothers, among whom no contention should ever exist, save that noble contention, or rather emulation, of who can best work and best agree.”

So, if I might be so bold as to give each of you a challenge, I challenge each brother and noble to use his trowel to spread brotherly love and affection. Let us unite into a sacred band of friends and brothers. Let us make sure that no contention exists among us. We owe no less to each other and to our self. Please join me in this effort.

Your brother,

Leon Crockett, High Priest & Prophet

Where’s the Fire?!!!

El Kalah Shrine owns a 1939 Ford Fire Truck which is in Vernal, and has been since 1992. This truck was donated by Kennecott Copper Mine about 40 years ago. It needs body and engine work as well as new tires and paint to get it parade ready. It will take manpower and money. Can you help with your time or money to get her restored and on the road? If you are interested in helping in anyway, please contact Jon Harris, PP, 801-966-4034 or 801-755-0546. Donations can be made to "El Kalah Fire Truck Restoration Fund".

Aloha!

Aloha Nui Loa (All My Love), Lady Rachel Sweet Last month we had a small group of Ladies from Iris Court #47 go to the Ladies Oriental Shrine North America Grand Council Session in Sandusky Ohio. This year over 600 ladies attended with about 60 men total. It is a great time for us to get together to meet with Ladies from all over the country to share ideas and joys. Each year the Grand High Priestess that is installed has a special project, the 2016-2017 Grand High Priestess’ special

project was a 4D Stereo Photogrammetric Imaging System for Cleft-Lip and Pallet Service for the Chicago Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. Through countless donations there was over $500,000 raised for this project. It was a wonderful reminder of good all our organizations do. My Grand Officer, Lady Janet Larsen, was installed as Grand High Priestess on the last night of the session, she announced that her project is a rehabilitative playground for children at the Honolulu Hospital. Aloha Nui Loa (All My Love), Lady Rachel Sweet, High Priestess

The clown unit held a face painting session at Jon Harris's home recently and we all benefited from each other's experiences with

materials and techniques. Thank you, Jon and Louise for your hospitality. Our next clown potluck/meeting will be held on June 25th at 4pm at Richard and Annette Johnson's home. Our agenda

will include planning for upcoming parades.
