Strategies in Cytotechnology Education (CME/CMLE)If you are interested in the continued advancements taking place within the Cytotechnology profession, join us Thursday, Nov 14th from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. This engaging and interactive session relies on feedback from its communities of interest. So, if you are a practicing cytologist, pathologist, student, recent graduate, employer, or educator, plan to attend this session sponsored by the Cytotechnology Programs Review Committee (CPRC).

Strategies in Cytopathology Education (CME/CMLE)If you are a director of a residency or fellowship program, please join us on Sunday, November 17th, 2019 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm for this discussion.

Chinese American Pathologists Association (CAPA) Companion Meeting (CME/CMLE/SAM)This is the first Chinese American Pathologists Association companion meeting at the ASC annual meeting. This educational session will use a case-based format to present a few memorable FNA cases selected from four academic institutions based on its great learning points.

Short Courses (CME/CMLE/SAM) Short Courses (previously referred to as Non-Microscope Workshops) are intensive sessions promoting interaction and the exchange of information regarding specific significant topics.

Video Microscopy Tutorials (CME/CMLE/SAM) Interact with experts in the field during these small, informal slide reviews. Presenters project slides through a video microscope to review interesting cases. Participants do not use individual microscopes.

Roundtable Discussions (CME/CMLE) These sessions encourage intimate discussions on different topics. Each table will have one speaker facilitating up to 9 participants. Participants may register for one topic and are not permitted to switch tables. A box lunch will be included with your participation.

Panel Luncheon Seminars (CME/CMLE/SAM) These interactive sessions focus on a single topic and are presented by nationally known expert(s). The seminars commence with a lunch followed by the lecture. An opportunity for questions and answers is offered at the end of the seminar.

JASC Dinner Seminar (CME/CMLE/SAM) For the first time, JASC will be offering an interactive session commencing with dinner and followed by a panel discussion on How (and Wyh) ROSE is practiced today. There will be time for your questions and answers at the close of the evening.

Sign-out with the Professor (CME/CMLE) These 1 hour sessions provide close contact with an expert in the field doing what we all love, cytomorphology. Each session will focus on one area and the cases will be presented in a sign-out style at a 10-headed or 8-headed microscope. Participants are encouraged to join in the discussion.

Ultrasound FNA Workshop (CME/CMLE/SAM) In this interactive workshop, participants will work with faculty in small groups to improve FNA biopsy technique and learn ultrasound guidance. A short lecture on FNA techniques and US guidance will be followed by practice sessions with the participants divided into small groups of 4-5. With supervision, each participant will practice FNA biopsy and smearing as well as using US guidance.

Koss Lecture: The Science and Skill of Flourishing

The emerging science of Positive Psychology seeks to enable more people to flourish. Flourishing is a combination of feeling good and functioning effectively. It epitomizes mental health. Yet only about 16% of our population is considered flourishing. In this presentation we look at this emerging science of Positive Pyschology, who is and isn’t flourishing, the benefits of living a flourishing life and a set of skills that enable one to flourish.
