U.T. ADMINISTRATION OF DAMAN & DIU ACHIEVEMENTS & ACTIVITIES UNDER MAJOR
DEVELOPMENTAL SCHEMES
(For the month of November2015) The Union Territory is committed towards providing an inclusive
development to the population residing in the territory. A number of schemes
for creation and upgradation of physical infrastructure and towards improving
the socio-economic status of the citizens are being implemented by the U.T.
Administration. The progress in this regard during the month of November,
2015 is highlighted below.
A. Progress under Infrastructural Developmental Works :
(i) Major Works completed during the month of November, 2015:
• The Hon’ble Administrator of Daman & Diu has inaugurated PHC
Dabhel, PHC Bhimpore& 108 Ambulance at Sub-Centre Dabhel in
presence of Hon’ble Member of Parliament & other dignitaries & public
leaders on 2nd November, 2015. • Development of parking area near gangeshwar temple at Fudam – Diu
district at a cost of Rs. 44 Lakh • Repairing of katcha Road from Gomti beach to khodidhar Beach at
Nagoa Beach – Diu District at a cost of Rs. 5.74 Crore • Repairing of Katcha Road with providing crash barrier from Khodhidar
Beach to Nagoa Beach – Diu District at a cost of Rs. 30 Lakh.
B. Progress under Individual beneficiaries Oriented Schemes during the month of November, 2015:
A number of schemes for the benefit of individuals are being
implemented by the Administration, in which assistance in cash/kind is being
provided by way of scholarship, pension, subsidy, loan, advances etc. The
progress in this regard in various sectors during the month of November,
2015 is as follows:

ICDS
• Provided nutritious food to 6218 Children (06 months to 06 years).
• Provided Food grain to1605 pregnant women & lactating / nursing
Mothers.
• Provided nutritious food to 1340 Adolescent Girls – School Going.
• Provided nutritious food to 177 Adolescent Girls – Out of School.
Development of SC/ST/OBC
• Cash incentive of Rs. 33.82lakh released to parents of SC/ST boy students.
• Cash incentive of Rs. 32.52 lakh released to parents of SC/ST girl students.
Rural / Urban Development
• Pension released to 8574 Old Age pensioners, WidowPensioners and
Disabled pensioners under National Social Assistance Programme.
Health
• Financial assistance released for a total of Rs. 1.40 lakh to 28 Mothers under MatruSamrudhiYojana (MSY) scheme @
Rs.5000/- to each beneficiary.
Crop Husbandry
• Tractors facility has been provided to 19 farmers on subsidy for
Agriculture operations.
Agriculture
• Total 400 Nos. of Soil samples have been collected from Pairyari,
NailaPardi, Deva pardi and Jampore Village, Moti Daman for
analysis.

C. Organisation of important Events during the month of November, 2015: The Tourism Department of U.T. of Daman & Diu has participated in
World Tourism Fair at World Trade Market, London which was started
from 2nd November, 2015 The Collector, Diu has inaugurated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre at
CHC, Ghoghla, Diu on 3rd November, 2015. A review meeting of RMSA was done under the Chairmanchip of Hon’ble
Member of Parliament at Secretariat, Moti Daman on 4th November, 2015.
The issue related with quality of food supplied under mid-day meal was
also discussed. The Hon’ble Administrator of U.T. of Daman & Diu had made presentation
about ‘Diu Festival (Festa de Diu)’ in the meeting organized by Indo-
African Chamber of Commerce & Industries at Mumbai on 4th November,
2015. U.T. Level various cultural competition were organized under “Kala Utsav”.
The issue of “BetiBahao – BetiPadhao” was the main theme of local folk
drama, etc. organized on the occasion on the 18th November, 2015. The Development Commissioner, U.T. of Daman & Diu has reviewed
reason of accidental death & places of occurrence on 19th November,
2015 at the Conference Hall, Secretariat and directed the authorities to the
take corrective measures at prominent accident points. A sensitizatiobn workshop was organized at Conference Hall, Police Head
Quarters, Nani Daman on the issue of Women Trafficking. The Workshop
was organized with the help of NGO “Justice & Care” on 19th November,
2015 A 2 Day Training program for Civil Engineers was organized at CHC, Hall,
Moti Daman on 28th November, 2015. The experts from National Council
for Training & Social Research took lectures on various issues in the
workshop. The CHC Conference Hall, Moti Daman was inaugurated by Development
Commissioner & other dignitaries on 29th November, 2015.

Bal Bhavan
• Bal Meal, Science Exhibition & Debate (paying tribute to Missile Man
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Azad) was organized by Bal Bhavan Board,
Daman on 6th November, 2015. Prizes were awarded to the Winning 1st,
2nd& 3rd Participating children.
• Cultural Integration Camp was organized by Bal Bhavan Board, Daman
from 24th November, 2015 to 26th November, 2015. Total 120 Children
participated in this Camp.
Sports
• Daman District Level Selection Camp– 2015 was organized on
18thNovember, 2015 at Swami Vivekanand Sports Complex, Nani
Daman in which players were selected for participating in Territory
Cricket League Tournament - 2015 held at Alok Stadium, Silvassafrom
23rdNovember, 2015 to 29th November, 2015.
• Territory Cup of Badminton & Table Tennis (Single & Doubles) Tournament– 2015 was organized on 18th November& 19th October,
2015 at Indoor Complex, Silvassa in which players of U.T. of Daman
(Boys & Girls) were selected for participating.
• Daman District Inter School Badminton Tournament was organized
on 4thNovember, 2015 to 6thNovember, 2015 for U-14, 17 & 19 Boys&
Girls at Badminton Hall, Ball Bhavan Building and Daman Sports Club,
Moti Daman.
• Daman District Inter School Table Tennis Tournament – 2015 was
organized from 4th November, 2015 to 6th November, 2015 for U-14, 17
& 19 Boys& Girls at BalBhavan Building and TTI Building, Moti Daman.
