Tips for ordering ODUs on USCG website
• In order to access the USCG website you will need to register with them and you will need your employee ID# to do so (this is NOT your PHS#).
• You can find your employee number in Direct Access under your profile (but it will show up on most other tabs selected as well).
Once you find your employee ID#
• Go to the USCG website http://www.uscg.mil/hq/cg1/udc/Ordering.asp#online Scroll down to the Shop On-Line area as shown below and click to Pre-Register. It will bring up a short form to fill out and then submit online.
After you pre-register.. • They will send you an email letting you know you
have been registered and can now use their website. Note that you can only use internet explorer (not safari, firefox, etc.) as your browser for their site.
Note: Each time you log in you will have to check the box verifying that you are active duty. However, if you check the small box to “remember me” on the log-in page you won’t have re-enter your employee ID# or password each time you log onto their online store.
Tips for ODUs on USCG
website (2)
• Once logged in, you will see this page.
• Click on the “NOAA Corps and PHS Uniform link”
• You will find the untucked coat, trousers, covers and t-shirts here
Tips for ordering ODUs on USCG website (3)
• There is only one sizing chart for each item (no separate fit for men and women).
• Disregard the descriptions (as you see below they are mixed NOAA/PHS ODU, NOAA/PHS UNT, and NOAA UNT) and just choose your correct size.
• Sizing is the number followed by regular, short, etc.
As long as you are looking under the NOAA PHS uniform tab, then any of those items are authorized wear for PHS. The USCG is aware of the inconsistency in the
item descriptors but cannot change them.
Collar PHS sew-on insignia

NOTE: Name tapes, rank, and PHS insignia to be sewn on the ODU untucked coat must be ordered separately
from NEX. At the time of this publication (February 2013), USCG does not offer these items.
Rank insignia sewn on right lapel as shown: 1.5 inches from lapel tip
1 inch from both edges of lapel (centered) Eagle beak points forward and is sewn on right lapel
Name tape sewn above right pocket with ends flush with edges of pocket
Service name tape sewn over left pocket with edges flush with end of pocket
FMRB sewn above service name tape as shown
Sleeve Rolling: Step 1 – “inside out” no longer authorized!
Sleeve Rolling: Step 2 – Width of fold – Approx. 3 inches
Sleeve rolling: Step 3 – Fold back over so material is outward and button is fastened
Belt should be worn centered and covering button No gig line on ODU………………..
Tying/tucking laces, using blousing bands, and properly blousing boots. Because the end of the trousers must be long enough to tuck up and under the blousing straps, leave extra length if you have them tailored so that there is enough material to roll
under the blousing band.

Two covers are available: Command ballcap (Required) and 8 point (Prescribable) Note: The command ballcap has the embroidered rank insignia
The 8 point cover uses the large bright pin-on rank insignia
Sizing tips for the covers: the ballcap fits the same as your garrison gap while the 8pt cover runs small so order ¼ size larger
than your garrison gap to ensure a comfortable fit.
Outerwear Ordering Tips • USCG site has both the Foul Weather Parka II and the ODU utility jacket which also
functions as a liner for the parka.
• Because the utility jacket zips into the parka, you must order the same size for both items even though the liner can be worn on its own.
• Even though the utility jacket is made with polartec fleece, it should not be confused with the optional item “Liner, polar fleece, blue” that you can only buy from Propper since the USCG no longer authorizes its wear. Propper lists this items as the Foul Weather Parka II liner.
• The USCG coats have a vertical slide on rank that you have to purchase separately while the Propper coat has no rank identification. It looks like a plain fleece jacket.

Slip-on rank devices for the USCG outerwear are found on the same area of the USCG website as the outerwear it is worn on. Click on middle tab.
Miscellaneous tips
• Propper also sells the Foul Weather II Parka but they charge $309.99 for same item that will cost you $204.15 on the USCG website.
• You can buy the PHS navy blue t-shirts on either the USCG or NEX websites. The previously authorized black PHS T-shirts are no longer authorized.
• If you don’t see your size listed for an item then it may be because it is on backorder. If you have questions or do not see your size listed for any of the USCG items for a prolonged period, contact their customer service center. – Phone: 1-800-874-6841 Monday thru Friday 0800-1530 EST. – Email: [email protected]
