GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENTSMidshipmen were admitted from every state in the Nation, as well as Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Class of 2019 also includes 12 international students from: Albania (1), Cambodia (1), Georgia (1), Korea (1), Malaysia (1), Montenegro (1), Philippines (2), Taiwan (1), Thailand (1) and Turkey (2).

The class of 2019 includes 36 sons and 20 daughters of alumni. Ten members of the entering class have both parents who are alumni of the Naval Academy.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUNDThe Class of 2019 includes 380 (32%) from college and post-high school preparatory programs which include:
F 219 from Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, RI
F 59 from the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation Program civilian preparatory programs F 102 additional students have completed at least one semester of study at a college or university and one at a post-secondary prep school.

The admissions process ensures that entering midshipmen have the capability to meet the academic and military challenges of the Naval Academy. More than 85 percent of those
entering the Academy successfully complete the four year program.
