• The body paragraphs are like the "meat" to a personal narrative essay or sandwich.  

• Personal narrative essays will contain 3 body paragraphs or 3 main points.

BODY PARAGRAPH NOTES

• Transitions: Words that allow your writing to flow smoothly and transition between thoughts.

• Like adding “Spice” to food.

• You are being handed a transition reference sheet. DO NOT LOSE IT.

• I would recommend putting in a folder or pocket protector.

TRANSITION NOTES

• Using the essay you’ve been working on this week, in pencil, begin writing the 3 body paragraphs of your personal narrative essay. Be sure to use transition words in between each paragraph!!

1. Hard work can be very rewarding. Write a personal narrative about a time when you accomplished something important through hard work. Be sure to describe what you were trying to accomplish, and how your hard work paid off.

2. Reading can take us on adventures we could never take in real life. Write a personal narrative about a book or a story that is very special to you.  Be sure to describe in detail why you like that book or story.

3. **Pre-AP Option Only:**Teachers can have a big influence on our lives. Write a personal narrative about a teacher who has helped you or taught you something important.  Be sure to describe why you think that teacher made a difference in your life.
