Students brainstorm characters, settings, and

objects

Then choose 6 words from each category to make 3 cubes

Students roll the cubes and create a sentence incorporating the items shown. Students can identify parts of speech.

Mona Lisa went to outer space but she forgot her glue. So she gets glue at home. Then goes to bed in outer space because she has glue. Mona Lisa is shocked.

The first student rolls the cubes and creates the first line of the story. Each student adds a sentence and the final student adds a

conclusion.

Mona Lisa forgot her bag on the soccer field. So she goes to the soccer field to get her bag. Her bag is not there because Mona Lisa’s bag is at home. Mona Lisa is shocked.
