• Consider what makes an effective presentation

• Consider the use of ICT in a presentation

• Try out some techniques and design a presentation or work on your own language presentation

Advice and recommendations:

• PowerPoint makes slides not presentations

• The audience is there to hear you!

• Keep your slides simple.

• Don’t read out exactly what’s on the slides – use notes to remind you what you want to say

• Don’t be afraid to give PowerPoint a break – let listeners digest what they’ve heard.

• Show/practise your presentation to someone before delivering it.

• Are you going to give the audience/assessor notes of your slides? If so, when?
