Note: The Vendor Defined Hardware ID value will only be displayed if you have a SafeNet dongle attached to the computer.

Once you have a valid license file saved to the machine, you will use the Import License File function found by clicking File. (To generate a license, see page 10 for concurrent licenses and page 17 for nodelocked licenses).

Purchasing new licenses or additional licenses

When you purchase new or additional licenses of any G/Technology product, the license will reflect the latest version, 10.2.1. Note the 10.2.1 licenses are backwardly compatible with version 10.2, therefore you will simply generate your new 10.2.1 licenses and import them into the license server using the Intergraph License Administrator tool. However, there is a change in the Host ID type for 10.2.1.

Changes in Licensing for G/Technology 10.2.1

The release of the G/Technology 10.2.1 suite brings a small change in the way these products are licensed. The previous version, 10.2, used the INGRTS vendor daemon, but for:

• Nodelocked licenses, the COMPOSITE ID required the VENDOR_DEFINED Host ID type to be selected. With this selected, you would then key in “COMPOSITE=” prior to the value.

• Concurrent licenses, the only allowed Host ID type was INTERNET. You would enter the Static TCP/IP address of the server to generate a license. This is no longer the case as 10.2.1 now uses the same Common Licensing platform as the rest of Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure and Hexagon Geospatial licensed products. The following example displays how customers will generate licenses for G/Technology 10.2.1.

Concurrent Licensing Process for G/Technology– 10.2.1

Before you begin the license generation process, you must have your License Authentication Code (LAC) and the Host ID of the machine. To obtain the required Host ID, go to Start > All Programs > Intergraph Licensing 11.11.1 > Intergraph License Host ID. You will copy the Host ID displayed and use it when generating the license file.

Log into the licensing web portal using your LAC at: licensing.hexagonsafetyinfrastructure.com/flexnet/operationsportal

Select the Generate Licenses tab. For this example, you are generating one concurrent license for GAdministrator and 20 concurrent licenses for GNetViewer. Place a check by both and select Generate.

Note: Concurrent and nodelocked licenses can’t be generated at the same time because the process is slightly different.

You have the option to consolidate the generated license files. The default option is No, but we recommend selecting Yes if both licenses are going on the same machine.

If you would like to receive the license file from an email, enter your email address in the space provided by “Ship to Email.” If not, you will have the option to save the license file to the machine later.

Click Next.

Select Add New Host to enter the Host ID:

A new window will display titled “Create License Host.” You will expand the drop down menu by clicking the arrow in the Server Hosts box to view your options (detailed below).

AMZ_EIP = The AMZN_EIP Host ID permits license server operation in AMAZON EC2 (public cloud) environments with binding to an elastic IP address. In order to use this Host ID type, you must have an AMAZON account with an AMAZON assigned ID.

COMPOSITE = This is the value that is derived using the License Host ID action within the Intergraph License Administration tool. It is the most commonly used Host ID.

VENDOR_DEFINED = you will select this option of a Host ID if your organization is using an Intergraph USB key. This value is derived from the License Host ID action within the Intergraph License Administration tool. With a hardware key inserted into the machine, a value will display in the “Vendor Defined Hardware ID” field.

In this example, we are generating one license for GAdministrator and 20 licenses for GNetViewer that will be used on the server with Host ID 5FCFEB03F587. You will enter “1” for GAdministrator and “20” for GNetViewer in each space provided under the “Fulfill Count” column. This will leave 5 copies of GNetViewer and 1 copy of GAdministrator available to generate.

Enter the count of licenses to be activated and select Next.

You will not see the option to consolidate the license file this time. Previously, we had generated a license for multiple products. This would have created multiple license files had we not selected to consolidate them. Since we are only attempting to generate a license for one product, the consolidation option is not available. However, if you have multiple nodelocked licensed products residing on the same machine, you will have the option to consolidate. Again, you have the option to provide an email address to which the license file will be delivered. Click Next.

The Host ID will populate. Place a check by the Host ID, and then click Generate.

In the previous section, we entered a fulfill count for each product to be available by the license manager on the server machine. Nodelocked licenses are for use on one specific machine; therefore, a count is not requested.

Place a check beside the license. At this point you can select to save the license file directly to the machine or email the license file. Place a check beside the license and select either “Save to File” or “Email License.”

Selecting to save the file directly to the machine will begin a download of the license file. If you did not enter your email address from the previous step, you can enter it now. Selecting “Email License” will allow you to enter your email address in the space provided beside “Ship to
