• Humans use six times as much water today as they did 100 years ago.

Consumptive and Non-Consumptive Use of Water
• Non-consumptive – water can be recycled and reused
• Consumptive - water can not be reused
Agriculture
• Irrigation of crops can waste water.–Overhead
sprinklers–Trench irrigation–Flood irrigation
• Between 15% and 36% of the water evaporates before it reaches the crops.
