This site is strictly for active School Counselors and Teachers affiliated with students applying to BCTS Do not share this site with your students or their parents/guardians Thank you!

The Bergen County Technical Schools District has five High Schools. Each school has different admissions requirements. All interested students must complete an online application. Dual applications are only accepted for students interested in Bergen County Academies, Hackensack and Bergen County Technical High School, Teterboro. Dual applications are not accepted for students interested in applying to Bergen County Technical High School, Paramus, Applied Technology High School @ BCC, or Institute for Interactive Design Technology at Northern Valley HS.

See Table of Contents below for further information and site addresses for each school. Once the student completes the online application, the last step in the application process is for the student to print one copy of their School Transcript Form, Recommendation Forms and their Case Manager Form, if applicable. Each form will be pre-printed with instructions including the School Applying To, Student Name, Town of Residence and Student Application ID#.

The student must give the Transcript Form (signed by a parent/guardian) to their Counselor/Supervisor and their Recommendation Forms to teachers. Students who have an IEP or a 504 plan must give their Child Study Team the Case Manager Form. The Case Manager must follow the instructions on the form. Please be advised, for security purposes, the School Counselor’s and Teacher’s Site address (above) is not posted on any student forms and will not be given to students/ parents/guardians.

Note: The School Counselor’s and Teacher’s Site will log you out after 30 minutes of no activity. No one but you can view your data. All records are held in strict confidence and only shared with the Admissions Committees for the Bergen County Technical Schools. Students /Parents/Guardians do not have access to this site.

Before you enter the site, please read and decide your Role Category:

Role as Counselor: Counselor/Supervisor only has access to upload the signed Transcript Forms, Report Cards, enter Attendance Records and Standardized Test Scores results. The signed School Transcript Form along with the report cards for grades 5th thru 8th must be uploaded on the Counselor Teacher site. If the student has taken/is taking courses at the high school, please upload the high school report card. Attendance records & standardized test scores can be entered on the School Counselor’s and Teacher’s site or uploaded with the report cards. If possible, upload all records when the 1st marking period of the 8th grade is over, including the signed Transcript Form. Case Manager should choose this role to upload supporting documents for students with IEP and 504 plans. Please read and follow Case Manager instructions on this page (below).

Role as Counselor/Teacher: Counselor/Teacher has access to upload Transcript Forms and Report Cards, enter Attendance Records and Standardized Test Scores results (see Role as Counselor). This role also includes access to all Teacher Recommendations which must be completed online (see Role as Teacher). Recommendations do not have to be printed or mailed. Only select this role if you are a Counselor/Supervisor and a Teacher in (English, Math or Science) or you currently teach more than one course (English, Math, or Science) to the student(s) applying.

Role as Teacher - English, Math or Science: Teachers are required to complete all Recommendation Forms online, and only have access to the Recommendation in the course role they teach or taught to the student(s) applying. Completed recommendations do not have to be printed or mailed.

Case Managers: Please follow the instructions below, depending on the school(s) that your students are applying to.

Bergen County Academies, Bergen County Technical High School, Teterboro Students applying to the two schools above will be taking an Admissions test in January. In order to provide accommodations for testing, the Case Manager MUST email Mr. Jon Bercovici, our School Social Worker, the student’s Case Manager form along with supporting documents by the application deadline December 14, 2020 to [email protected]. PLEASE DO NOT upload the Case Manager form or supporting documents on the School Counselor and Teacher’s site.

Applied Technology High School @ Bergen Community College BCTHS -Bergen County Technical High School, Paramus Institute for Interactive Design Technology Enroll as a Counselor. (See Role as Counselor (above). UPLOAD the IEP or 504 plan on the School Counselor and Teacher’s site for students who are applying to BCTHS Paramus, ATHS or NVRHS.

Before you begin your registration, please read the following:

Every school year we begin with a new database; therefore, all users must register annually regardless if you have registered in previous years. Due to the sensitivity of the School Counselor Teacher’s Site, we prefer that you use your school email address. Sometimes there are issues for school districts that have a Firewall to prevent external emails; please check with your school technology department if you do not receive our emails. If you register with an unfamiliar email address, we may contact you by email or call to verify your information before we activate your registration.

Register: This applies to all users for the school year 2020-2021. Once you are in the site, (address on top of page one), click “Register” on the left panel. Enter all requested information. Enter a user name and a password (password must be 6 characters), please remember to write down your user name and password. In the drop-down menu, select your Role (see Role Category). Please make sure you enter the correct Role and Grade Teaching. When you have completed your registration, before you can continue, you must read and check “Accept Terms and Conditions” then click “Register”. When you have completed your registration, you will receive a message on the screen, and an email stating that your status is pending. Your registration will be activated within 24 hours on regular business days. Once your information has been verified by Admissions, you will receive a second email stating that your status is active. You may then begin to use the site.

Your First Login: Enter your user name and password. Click on left panel “Search my Students”. You will be required only on the first time login to enter your school information (drop down listed alpha by town). If your school is not on the drop-down list, please select Bergen County Academies (Hackensack). If you are a counselor, email us the name, address and phone number of your school; if you are a teacher, please write the name and address of your school on the first line of the recommendation box. Once you have selected your school click “Save and Continue” (this will bring you back to the Home page), click on left panel “Search My Students”. Look on the top of the student’s form and enter the 5-digits STUDENT APPLICATION ID # and select whichever option relates to you (upload, scores or recommend) ; see sample . Please note: You will not have to re-enter your school information on subsequent logins.

Information about “Search My Student” & “My Data”

You have the option to go back and edit your information (go to “Search My Students” or “My Data”). Always remember to SAVE after every entry & upload. “Recommendation data have been updated” will appear in red. Online forms do not have to be printed or mailed.

Search My Students: Look on the top of the students form and enter the STUDENT APPLICATION ID# (5 digits) and select whichever option relates to you (upload, scores or recommend) see sample.

My Data: This page will bring you to your name, school, and all your student records that you have entered. The first section you will see on the top of this page is your name and school information. Go directly to “My Scores” or “My Recommendations”. Find your student and edit if needed. Counselors can only edit “My Scores”, enter test scores and upload. Teachers can only edit “My Recommendations”. If you are registered as a Counselor/Teacher you have access to edit all records. Always remember to SAVE after every entry & upload see sample.

CASE MANAGERS: Case Manager Form: PLEASE DO NOT upload the Case Manager Form or supporting documents on the School CT site. If a student has an IEP or a 504 Plan, the form along with supporting documents MUST emailed Mr. Jon Bercovici, School Social Worker at [email protected]. by the application deadline (Dec 14, 2020) in order us to make the proper accommodations for testing. Many families of students who have IEPs or 504 plans may need assistance in choosing the academy/ program that will best fit the student’s needs while offering the least restrictive environment for success in high school.
