(MAC) (MAC) 1. Introduction & System requirements:

I. Introduction:

This guide describes how to install the Sennheiser Call Control Plug-in for IBM Sametime on MAC

OS X. This plug-in allows user to do call control from sennheiser headsets on Sametime

softphone. User can perform accept,end,mute,unmute,hold & resume operations.

II. System requirements:

Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) & Above.

IBM Sametime 8.5.2 IFR 1 for Mac & Above.

Latest version of the Sennheiser softphone SDK should be installed.

USB-Sennheiser headset, dongle or base station supported by Sennheiser SDK

(MAC) (MAC) 2. Steps to install the SecomSDK Installer package.

Step 1:- Place the SecomSDK Installer package

“Sennheiser_SDK_vX.X.X_IBMSametime_Plugin_vX.X.X.pkg” provided in the deliverables folder on

target machine and double click on it. This will start the installation as shown. Click “Continue” to

proceed.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 2:- The next window will prompt user to accept the license agreement.

Select continue to install.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 3: Select “Agree” to continue with the installation.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 4:- Select the installation disk and continue.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 5:- The next window will allow the standard installation.

Click Install to start the installation.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 6:- The user authentication window might appear to continue with the installation. Only user

having administrator rights can perform the installation. Provide the administrator login details and

click “Install Software” to continue.

Step 7:- After successful completion, click on “Close” to finish the installation.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 8:- Successful installation will create “Sennheiser” folder at “/Library/Application Support/”

path.

Here, “IBMSametimePlugin” and “SDK” folders will get created which will contain IBM Sametime Plug-

in and Sennheiser SDK.

Following files will get installed.

3.1. Steps to manually integrate Sennheiser plugin for IBM Sametime IFR1

v8.5.2.

Step 1:- Now to install the same time plug-in, launch the Sametime application and log in. Select

the “Tools -> Plug-in ->Install Plug-ins”.

Step 2:- Select the option “Search for new features to install” and click next.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 3:- Select the “Add Zip/Jar Locations...” tab in Install window and add the latest plug-in zip file

from “/Library/Application Support/Sennheiser/IBMSametimePlug-in”. Click on OK button.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 4:- Select the required file to install as shown and click finish.

Step 8:- Select “Install this plug in” option and click OK. The plug-in will get installed.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 9:- After finishing the installation, restart the IBM Sametime softphone and log in. After logging

in, check if SecomSDK is running through activity monitor. This will confirm that plugin has been

loaded.

Now user is ready to perform Call control with Sennheiser headsets.

(MAC) (MAC) 3.2. Steps to manually integrate Sennheiser plugin for IBM Sametime v9.0.0.

Step 1:- Now to install the same time plug-in, launch the IBM Sametime application and log in. Click on

“ -> Plug-in ->Install Plug-ins”. The following Install window will appear.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 2:- Select the option “Search for new features to install” and click next.

file from path “/Library/Application Support/Sennheiser/IBMSametimePlug-in”. Click on OK button.

Step 8:- Select “Install this plug in” option and click OK. The plug-in will get installed.

After logging in, check if SecomSDK is running through activity monitor. This will confirm that plugin

has been loaded.

Now user is ready to perform Call control with Sennheiser headsets.

(MAC) (MAC) 4. Automatic Installation of the Sennheiser Sametime plug-in.

Following steps describe the method of automatically installing the plug-in through server:

Step 1:- After Sametime starts, user will get login page.

(MAC) (MAC) Change the Sametime server to “st9community.senntest.com” in login page before login in to

softphone.

OR

Change the Sametime server to “chat.meetingrite.com” in login page before login in to softphone.

Press settings… (Link available on login page) & press on server menu and change the Host server name

to “st9community.senntest.com” or “chat.meetingrite.com”. Go to Connection menu select

“direct connection using HTTP protocol”. Press ok button and try to login using valid username &

password.

(MAC) (MAC) Step 2:- Wait for pop-up of plugin installation request.

Note: Pop up will appear only when either current user not installed any Sennheiser plugin or any older

version of the plugin installed. If the softphone is already having latest version of plugin installed then

softphone will not give any pop-up.

Press ok button to install the latest plugin.

Step 3:- Once the installation has been successfully completed, the Sametime client has to be

restarted. The client displays a small window as depicted in the image below on the screen. Select the

“Restart Now” option to restart the client.

Once the client has restarted, the plug-in can be used for call control.

Note: For Call control with Sennheiser headset, Sennheiser SDK must be installed to the system if user

directly installing the plugin through server.

For IBM Sametime IFR1 v8.5.2:

Step 1: To uninstall the same time plugin, launch the Sametime application and log in.

Select the “Tools -> Plug-in ->Manage Plug-ins...” as shown in below picture.

Step 1:- To uninstall the same time plugin, launch the IBM Sametime application and log in.

Click on “ -> Plug-in ->Manage Plug-ins...” as shown in below picture.

(MAC) (MAC) After selecting the “Manage Plug-ins…” Application Management window will appear as below.

Step 2:- Select the highlighted option. It would show the Application Management window as below.

Select the Sametime plug-in “The Sennheiser IBM Sametime Plug-in Call Control Feature X.X.X” as

highlighted and uninstall it. After uninstallation restart the Sametime and log in.
