The BugabooCameleon is renowned or its versatility and saety (bassinet, pushchair and buggy complywith ASTM Standards F8-05a, F294-04 and F 2050-0). You and your child will besurprised by the Bugaboo Cameleons possibilities. We wish you a great deal o pleasurewith your Bugaboo Cameleon.     5WARNINGS Failure to ollow these warnings and instructions could result in serious injury or

    death. Failure to review and heed these warnings could result in death or serious injury

    to your child. Keep plastic bags and other packing materials that may pose a suocation

    hazard away rom children and saely discard them as soon as possible. Do not use the Bugaboo Cameleon i any part or component appears to be

    broken, damaged or missing. Discontinue use o the Bugaboo Cameleon incase o malunction.

    Be certain that all components (e.g. chassis, rame, seat/bassinet attachmentdevices) are correctly engaged beore you allow a child near the BugabooCameleon (see assembly instructions). Failure to attach properly could result inserious injury or death to your child.

    Audible click must be heard in order to determine that each lock is in properposition. To ensure proper locking engagement, check to see that the seat /carryhandle cannot be disengaged rom the stroller without unlocking the device.

    Care must be taken when olding and unolding the product to prevent fngerentrapment.

    NEVER use the Bugaboo Cameleon as a means to transport an inant in a motorvehicle. Transport your child by car in an approved car seat. Approved car seatscan be used in conjunction with the Bugaboo Cameleon chassis using Bugabooadapters (see accessories).

    Do not carry more than one inant in the Bugaboo Cameleon. The Bugaboo Cameleon is not intended or inants in excess o 17 kg/40 lbs. The bassinet is not recommended or inants in excess o 9 kg/19.8 lbs in weight

    or 76cm/30 inches in length. Only use the bassinet on level suraces and only in the horizontal position to

    avoid ejection o the child rom the bassinet. NEVER place seat or bassinet on beds, soa or other sot suraces as they may

    roll over when the child shits weight causing a potential suocation hazard. NEVER place seat or bassinet near edges o counter tops, tables, and other

    elevated suraces. Childs movement can cause devices to slide o suchsuraces.

    NEVER use the bassinet as a car bed.

    Do not use a mattress in the bassinet with a thickness in excess o30 mm/1.2 inches.

    The seat is not recommended or children under 6 months o age, or or anychild unable to maintain an unaided sitting position.

    Make seat adjustments beore the child is seated. Adjustments made whilethe child is seated may result in the child alling.

    Beore picking up the seat by the carry handle, always check to ensure that thehandle is properly secured.

    6 WARNINGS Never pick up the Bugaboo Cameleon and chassis by the carry handle while

    your child is lying or sitting in the bassinet or seat. Always use the saety eatures o your Bugaboo Cameleon, including locking

    devices, brakes, the 5-point harness (when child is seated), touch asteners,and the wrist strap attached to the handle bar (see instructions oradditional inormation). Check and maintain all saety eatures requently.

    NEVER leave your child in the Bugaboo Cameleon when harness straps areundone. Your child could strangle in loose straps.

    Do not apply parking brake while the Bugaboo Cameleon is moving. Never leave your child unattended. Always keep child in view while in the

    Bugaboo Cameleon. Never attach purses, shopping bags, diaper bags or other packages or similar

    items attached to the handle bar as they may change the balance o theBugaboo Cameleon and cause a hazardous condition.

    Excessive weight may cause a hazardous unstable condition to exist. I package carrying items are added onto the product unstable hazardous

    conditions may exist. The product will become unstable i the manuacturers recommended load is

    exceeded. The Bugaboo Cameleon should be used at walking speed and should never

    be used while jogging, skating or running. Take your child out o the Bugaboo Cameleon when going up or down stairs,

    escalators or around steep or unstable conditions. Also, use extreme carewhen going up or down a curb or other uneven surace.

    Do not stand on the axles between the wheels. This is unsae and coulddamage the Bugaboo Cameleon.

    Do not allow the Bugaboo Cameleon to be used as a toy. Do not use the Bugaboo Cameleon near open fames and other sources o heat. Avoid exposing the Bugaboo Cameleon to extreme temperatures. Only use authentic Bugaboo replacement parts and accessories or accessories

    approved by Bugaboo or use with the Bugaboo Cameleon. The Bugaboo Cameleon rame (no. 71100) should only be used with the

    Bugaboo Cameleon chassis (no. 71101). Do not use Bugaboo Cameleon parts orcomponents with any non-approved stroller or other device or with any

    other Bugaboo product. Additional warnings and saety inormation appear in the assembly, use and

    accessory sections o this Guide as well as on the Bugaboo Cameleon itseland should be reviewed independently.

    To reduce the risk o SIDS; Pediatricians recommend healthy inants be placed ontheir backs to sleep, unless other wise advised by Physician on Product.

    7assembly and use

    The Bugaboo Cameleon is easy to assemble and prepare or use. It is advisable to repeat actions

    a couple o times when indicated. This section explains how to assemble the Bugaboo Cameleon.

    The subjects are the chassis, swivel wheels, large wheels, unolding the chassis, parking brake,

    adjusting the handlebar, rame and carry handle. Each basic step in the Bugaboo Cameleons

    assembly is explained separately in the text boxes. It is advisable to practice the basic steps. All

    parts ft together properly, so no orce is necessary. I you fnd a step difcult, reread the instructions

    and try again to execute that step. Do not proceed until you have executed each step properly and

    completely.

    importantAlways assemble the Bugaboo Cameleon:

    - without the child in the seat or bassinet (unless indicated otherwise)

    - with the parking brake on (unless indicated otherwise).

    81. basic steps

    chassisThe chassis is the main component o the Bugaboo Cameleon. The Bugaboo Cameleon rame

    clicks into the chassis and becomes the base or the bassinet and seat.

    The parts are attached to the chassis. The chassis is comprised o the ollowing components:

    - axle or the large wheels;

    - axle or the swivel wheels with holder;

    - handlebar with rame bearers, parking brake and wrist strap.

    You also need the ollowing or the assembly:

    - 2 swivel wheels;

    - 2 large wheels.

    Frame and carry handle complete the chassis or urther assembly.

    step 1 folding out the chassis and handlebar

    a Place the chassis with the 4 points on the foor.

    b. Stand with the handlebar in ront o you.

    c. Hold the handlebar lightly in your hands. Do not push.

    d Pull the 2 white buttons on the outside o the handlebar

    towards you.

    9e Move the handlebar upwards and away rom you and

    let go o the white buttons. You hear a click when the

    handlebar is upright.

    swivel wheelsThe swivel wheels provide optimum maneuverability.

    step 2 placing the swivel wheels in the holders

    a Without releasing it, move the handlebar to the foor.

    The wheel axles are now acing upwards. This enables

    you to t the wheels without having to bend down ar.

    b Move the white sliding buttons upwards. These are

    the swivel wheel locks.

    c Stand with wheel axles in ront o you. With the wheel

    acing upward and the wheel lock acing away rom you,

    push the swivel wheel into the holder.

    d. You will hear a click or each wheel. The swivel wheels

    are now attached.

    Important Do not t the swivel wheels on the wrong side o

    the holder.

    removing the swivel wheels from the holdersa. The swivel wheel has a round button which protrudes through the holder.

    The button has 2 sprung lips.

    b Push on the 2 lips and remove the swivel wheel from

    the holder.

    c. Do the same on the other side.

    swivel wheels unlockeda. Push down the swivel locks.

    b. The swivel wheels are unlocked.

    c. The Bugaboo Cameleons maneuverability is highest

    with this setting.

    swivel wheels lockeda. Push up the swivel locks.

    b. The swivel wheels are locked.

    c. The Bugaboo Cameleon now moves in a straight line.

    adjusting the swivel wheelsThe suspension is usually adjusted to the lightest setting.

    a. Set the swivel wheels to locked.

    b Pull down the white spring clamp.

    c Slide the white spring clamp to one of the 4 positions.

    d. Fasten the spring on both swivel wheels in the

    same position.

    Important Push the spring clamp off the frame (if the swivel

    wheels are locked). The suspension becomes

    tighter. For ongoing optimum comfort,

    Bugaboo recommends adjusting the spring one

    notch for every 5 kg/ lbs of load (child +

    baggage in the underseat bag).

    Important The adjustable suspension of both swivel wheels

    should be in the same position to avoid hazardous

    situation.

    large wheels

    The 2 large wheels have tires flled with polyurethane oam. These provide enduring suspension on

    both sides without the risk o a puncture. This will thereore guarantee the driving comort or you

    and your child.

    step 3 fitting the large wheels to the axle

    a Push the large wheels into the wheel holders at the ends

    o the long axle.

    b. You will hear a click or each wheel.

    The wheels are now attached.

    other functions

    removing the large wheels rom the axlea Squeeze the wire clamp together that is located on the

    inside o a large wheel.

    b Remove the wheel rom the axle; repeat on the other side.

    Important The large wheels cannot be removed rom the axle

    i the Bugaboo Cameleons parking brake is on.

    2unolding the chassis

    Move the handlebar up to unfold the chassis. The large wheels are on the ground. Release the

    handlebar and click it in position between the large wheels. The chassis is now folded up.

    step 4 unolding the chassis

    a. Stand with the handlebar and large wheels in front of you.

    b Pull the two white release knobs towards you and lift.

    Release the knobs and raise the handlebar until it

    clicks into the fastened position.

    c Push your foot against the axle of the swivel wheels.

    d. The swivel wheels are released. The chassis is now

    standing on 4 wheels.

    WARNINGS Care must be taken when olding and unolding the chassis to prevent fnger

    entrapment.

    parking brake

    The parking brake is on the handlebar. It prevents the large wheels rom turning. Always apply the

    Bugaboo Cameleons parking brake when the stroller is stationary so it cannot roll away. When the

    handlebar is above the large wheels, the parking brake is on the right on the handlebar, with the

    release button on the outside.

    step 5 applying the parking brakea Push the parking brakes handle away rom you and

    downwards.

    b. When the handle will not move any urther, the Bugaboo

    Cameleons parking brake is on.

    Important You will be able to eel when the parking brake is

    working properly. Do not orce the parking brake.

    other functions

    releasing the parking brakea Grip the handle tightly with one hand. Press the white,

    round button on the handle with the other hand and

    move the handle towards the handlebar.

    b. The parking brake is now o.

    Note I you press the white, round button on the handle

    without holding the handle tightly, the parking brake

    will be released suddenly. To avoid injury, do not place

    your fngers between the handle and the handlebar.

    Note Release the Bugaboo Cameleons parking brake beore

    removing the large wheels rom the axle.

    adjusting the parking brakea. Place the handlebar above the large wheels.

    b Screw the brake cable adjuster upwards. The brakecable is on the thin axle, next to the wheel on the right.

    This reduces the braking orce.

    c. Screw the brake cable adjuster down to increase the

    braking orce.

    4 WARNINGS Only apply the parking brake when the stroller is stationary. The brake lever must

    be in its lowest position to lock.

    adjusting the handlebarYou can adjust the length o the handlebar.

    step 6 adjusting the length of the handlebar

    a Turn both butterfy nuts on the outside o the handlebar

    counter-clockwise.

    b This loosens the handlebar. Adjust it to the correct height.

    c. Turn the butterfy nuts clockwise to tightten the handlebar

    in place.

    WARNINGS Check that the handlebar is properly fastened.

    Important Butterfy nuts must be in a tightly secured position when the handlebar is fipped to the

    reverse side to ensure the handlebar securely locks into place.

    5frame

    The frame is fastened to the chassis; the chassis is then secured. The bassinet or seat is fastened to

    the frame. The frame has 2 frame supports, which click onto the 2 frame bearers. The round side

    of the frame is always the head end of the bassinet or seat.

    step 7 fitting the frame on the chassis

    a Completely fold out the 2 frame supports.

    b. Fit the frame supports on the frame bearers.

    c. Hold the frame horizontal.

    d Press the frame downwards until you hear a click on

    both sides. The frame is now attached to the chassis.

    WARNINGS To check whether the frame is attached to the chassis, pick up the frame. If the

    frame releases one or both sides of the chassis, press the frame onto the chassisagain until you hear a click on both sides.

    other functions

    the top of the frame supports.

    6c Tip the rame orward and choose a position.

    WARNINGS Only the seat can be used in 3 positions on the frame. The bassinet can only be

    used horizontally (See WARNINGS Section).

    7turning the rame aroundYou can turn around the rame to change the seat and bassinet options.

    a. Remove the rame rom the chassis.

    b While holding the rame in the horizontal position,

    turn it around.

    c. Place it back on the chassis.

    carry handleThe carry handle fts on the rame. You can easily pick up and turn around the bassinet or seat

    using the carry handle.

    step 8 fitting the carry handle to the frame

    a. There is a white button at each end o the carry handle.

    b Press and hold in the white button on one side.

    c. Place one end o the carry handle above one o the

    holes in the center o the rame.

    d Push it into the hole. You will hear a click.

    e. Repeat this or the other side. The carry handle is

    securely astened.

    Important Remove the carry handle by pressing the white

    button in on one side and pulling out the carry

    handle. Repeat this or the other side.

    Now you have assembled the chassis you can:

    old out the chassis;

    release, move and adjust the height o the handlebar;

    ft and remove the swivel wheels;

    activate and de-activate the swiveling action o the swivel wheels;

    adjust the suspension o the swivel wheels;

    ft and remove the large wheels;

    use the parking brake;

    ft, remove and turn around the rame;

    place the seat in dierent positions; and

    ft and remove the carry handle.

    2. assembling the bassinet

    The bassinet consists o the rame, the bassinet abric, with base plate, mattressand the apron. Touch asteners ensure that the bassinet hangs securely in therame.

    step 1 attaching the bassinet fabric to the frameThe round side o the bassinet abric fts in the round side o the rame.

    a. Fit the rame (horizontally) onto the chassis.

    b. Unasten the touch asteners.

    c Fasten the 2 touch asteners tight to the rame,

    in the order to 6.

    9d Fasten the touch asteners to the rame supports below

    the square, white buttons.

    Important Make sure the plastic fllets at the top and bottom

    stay in their bags.

    step 2 fitting the mattress

    a Place the round side o the mattress on the round side

    o the bassinet, with the cover opening acing

    downwards.

    step 3 fitting the tailored apronThe apron protects the child against the cold and is ftted to the oot end o the bassinet.

    a Zip the apron onto the bassinet. First make sure that the

    runners at the end on the let are next to each other.

    b. I you use the sun canopy, pull the aprons small elastic

    bands over the hooks o the sun canopys clamps

    3. assembling the seat

    The seat comprises the seat abric, which is pulled over the rame. The seatabric is itted with back pad supports, oot support and seat pad. The seat has2 shoulder belts, 2 waist belts, crotch belt and tensioning belt with metalO-rings. When astened together, the waist belts should stay in place at theheight o their attachment.

    step 1 placing the seat fabric on the frame

    a. Fold out the rame supports and place the rame on

    the foor.

    b Slide the rounded upper side o the seat abric over the

    round side o the rame, with the Bugaboo logo acing

    orward. Pull on the seat abric so that it ts tightly.

    c Place one O-ring o the tensioning belt over the

    protruding pin on the side o the rame.

    d. Place the rame on that side to asten the O-ring on the

    other side.

    e. Lean on the rame and push it inwards a little. Take holdo the tensioning belt and pull the other metal O-ring

    over the protruding pin.

    2 Fasten the two ends o the tensioning belt together

    underneath the seat area. You should hear a click.

    Pull the belt until it is tight.

    g. Put the tailored seat abric over the base abric. Pull the

    shoulder belts and the waist belts through the tailored

    seat abric. Then attach the tailored seat abric to the

    base abric with the touch asteners.

    h Now give shape to the seat by olding the seat pad

    inwards.

    i Attach the 2 touch asteners at the oot end to

    the underneath the rame.

    Important Make sure the carry handle is not attached to the

    rame while trying to pull the tensioning belt over

    the protruding pin.

    Important Assemble the seat beore ftting it onto the chassis.

    The seat cannot be placed on the rame until it

    has been assembled.

    WARNINGS Ensure that the touch fasteners and tensioning belt are fastened

    properly.

    224. various uses of bassinet and seat

    You can use the bassinet from the childs birth until the child is aged around 6months. It is only intended for children who cannot sit or get up onto their handsand knees unaided. Do not use the bassinet for children who are longer than76 cm/0 inches or heavier than 9 kg/9.8 lbs. You can use the seat for childrenolder than 6 months if they weigh less than 7 kg / 40 lbs.(See WARNINGS Section).

    bassinetThe child is able to lie down completely in the bassinet. This means the childs spine is not under

    any stress and the child can stretch his/her legs. For use as a pram, only place the bassinet hori-

    zontally on the chassis. The bassinet can be turned around easily. This enables you to see into the

    bassinet and the child can look at you. The bassinet can also be used separately from the chassis.

    The bassinet can also be used as a bassinet.

    Important When carrying the bassinet with child by the carry handle, its position should be

    horizontal at all times. Place one hand at the edge of the frame to stabilize and to

    correct. With your other hand you carry the weight. Keep the weight as close to your

    body as possible.

    WARNINGS Only use the bassinet on a level, solid surface. Only use the bassinet in the horizontal position. In any other position, the child

    may slide or fall out of the bassinet. Ensure that all the touch fasteners are securely fastened before use. NEVER use the bassinet as a car bed. Avoid injurious or fatal accidents. NEVER use the bassinet fabric when it is not attached to the frame. Before picking up the bassinet by the carry handle, always check that the carry

    handle is properly secured. Never pick up the Bugaboo Cameleon and chassis by the carry handle while

    your child is lying or sitting in the bassinet or seat. Use a harness as soon as your child can sit unaided.

    Do not use the infant carrier if it is damaged or broken. Fall Hazard: Childs movement can slide carrier. NEVER place carrier near edges

    of counter tops, tables, or other elevated surfaces. Infant carriers are not intended for use as infant restraint devices in motor

    vehicles. NEVER use this carrier as a means to transport an infant in a motor vehicle. Suffocation Hazard: Infant carrier can roll over on soft surfaces and suffocate

    child. NEVER place carrier on beds, sofas, or other soft surfaces. SUFFOCATION HAZARD: Infants can suffocate:

    - in gaps between an extra pad and side of the bassinet/cradle.

    - on soft bedding.

    2WARNINGS NEVER add a mattress, pillow, comorter, or padding. Use ONLY the pad provided

    by the manuacturer. IF a sheet is used with the pad, use only the one providedby the bassinet or cradle manuacturer or one specifcally designed to ft thedimension o the bassinet or cradle mattress.

    FALL HAZARD: To help prevent alls, do not use this product when the inantbegins to push up on hands and knees or has reached manuacturersrecommended maximum weight, whichever comes frst.

    245. using the seat safety belts

    The Bugaboo Cameleon seat has a 5-point harness, which is comprised o 2shoulder belts, crotch belt and 2 waist belts.Use the saety belts when the child is sitting in the seat. Prevent the child romalling out o the seat and being injured.

    step 1 using safety belts

    a. Fit the seat to the chassis (with the brake applied) or

    on the foor.

    b. Place the child in the seat.

    c Pull the crotch belt orwards between the childs legs.

    d Attach the waist belts over the childs waist to the crotch

    belt. Tighten the belts to t the child.

    e Attach the shoulder belts over the childs shoulders to

    the waist belts. Tighten the belts to t the childs length.

    . You should now have heard a click 4 times. This

    means the child is sitting securely in the Bugaboo

    Cameleon seat.

    The Bugaboo Cameleons bassinet and rame are tted with extra astening rings. I required, you

    can use them to attach an extra harness or extra belts. The astening rings are attached to the base

    o the bassinet. The waist belts with extra astening rings are attached to the rame.

    position. The 2-wheel position is not intended to be used on vertical surfaces orterrain. Use of the 2-wheel position on such surfaces could result in tipping orloss of control.

    Ensure that all the touch fasteners are securely fastened before use. Remember that the seat cannot be turned around in the 2-wheel position. Never use the 2-wheel position in combination with the bassinet. Use the wrist strap in the 4-wheel position as well as the 2-wheel position. Remove the swivel wheels when using the stroller on the beach.

    The Bugaboo Cameleon is not resistant to saltwater. Do not push it in the sea.

    08. protection against weather and wind

    The standard version of the Bugaboo Cameleon comes with a sun canopy, raincover and mosquito net, so you can protect the child against the sun, wind andrain, as well as insects. The necessary steps to make the Bugaboo Cameleonready for use in good or bad weather are the same for the bassinet and the seat.

    Important The sun canopy, the rain cover and the mosquito net can be used in combination with

    the seat up to a length of 5 cm/20.9 inch of the upper body of the child (measured from

    the bottom of the childs behind to the top of its head).

    tailored sun canopyThe sun canopy comprises 2 canopy clamps, 2 removable frames and the tailored fabric.

    step 1 preparing the tailored sun canopy for use

    a Pull the frames out of the canopy clamps.

    b. Lay the sun canopy down with the logo facing

    downwards.

    c. Push the frames through the slots in the sun canopy

    fabric.

    d Put the canopy clamps back on the frames. Put the

    canopy clamp marked right arm side of child on the

    side with the Bugaboo label and with the text on the

    outside.

    e. Put the canopy clamp marked left arm side of child on

    the other side, also with the text on the outside.

    Important The hooks/arrows/brackets on the canopy

    clamps should always point to the back of thesun canopy.

    then secure the bottom of the clamp.

    f Attach the elastic bands to the front of the canopy

    clamps.

    Important You can also use the sun canopy to protect your

    child from wind

    WARNINGS Babies have very sensitive skin. Never put a baby in the Bugaboo Cameleon in

    the sunlight without ftting the sun canopy.

    There is an air vent at the ront o the rain cover to provide proper ventilation.

    a. Press the windows touch asteners together properly. The space created between the window

    and rain cover is the air opening.

    WARNINGS To prevent the child from overheating, do not leave him/her under the rain cover

    if it is not raining. Ensure proper ventilation by pressing the touch fasteners of the air vent together

    properly.

    safetyCheck the saety o the Bugaboo Cameleon beore each use. Ensure that the touch asteners, the

    brake and the saety belts are all working properly, the carry handle is attached properly and that

    the bassinet or seat is ftted correctly to the chassis. Check whether the Bugaboo Cameleon is

    damaged. You should ensure that any damaged or worn parts are repaired immediately

    (See WARNINGS section).

    partsFor replacements, use only genuine Bugaboo parts, or parts that have been approved by Bugaboo

    North America Inc. To prevent mold, do not old the Bugaboo Cameleon and accessories when wet

    or store them in a damp place.

    cleaningTo clean wheels, remove them rom their holders and clean with a moist cloth, lukewarm water

    and a mild cleaning agent, then dry well and lubricate them with a silicone spray.

    NEVER lubricate the wheel bearings.

    Important Some Bugaboo Cameleon components may become discolored i let in the sun.

    cleaning the fabricThe Bugaboo Cameleons abric is detachable and may be washed in a washing machine. Wash

    careully. Beore washing, ALWAYS remove the rame, reinorcements and plastic oam parts.

    Note When washing the abric, remind the ollowing:

    - maximum temperature 0 C / 85 F (cold wash)

    - do not use bleach

    - do not tumble dry

    - do not iron

    - do not dry clean

    The aerated inlay can be washed at 60C/40F (hot wash). At this temperature, the inlay will be-

    come totally clean. The aerated inlay is placed on top o the thicker oam mattress and can be taken

    o by removing the mattress cover. Ater washing the abrics, ensure that all parts are replaced in

    their original positions. The aerated inlay should be placed on top o the oam mattress. Do not use

    the mattress without the aerated inlay.
