The design track deepens skills and knowledge in information architecture, interaction design, visual design and service design leading to improved web, mobile and software experiences.

USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHER™ (CXR™) CERTIFICATIONThe research track focuses on research and analysis of customers and users and provides insights to create a more comprehensive understanding of their needs.

Once you have completed both the CXD & CXR certifications you will receive our CXS designation (User Experience Specialist).
Introduction to User Experience Design & Experience Thinking
Gain an excellent foundational understanding of user experience theory and processes. 85% theory, 15% practical. Mandatory course for CXD & CXR. (1 day)
User Experience ResearchLearn qualitative and quantitative research methods and the value they bring to UX design. 80% theory, 20% practical. Mandatory course for CXD & CXR. (1 day)
Information ArchitectureIntroduces information architecture principles and techniques to create better content structures. 60% theory, 40% practical. Elective course for CXD. (1 day)
Interaction DesignGain understanding of interaction design principles and processes that improve user experiences. 50% theory, 50% practical. Elective course for CXD. (1 day)
Visual Design for User Experiences
Introduces visual design theory and principles used to create engaging user experiences. 60% theory, 40% practical. Elective course for CXD. (1 day)
Experience MappingFocuses on how to research, capture and analyze experience journeys for customers and users. 60% theory, 40% practical. Mandatory course for CXR. (1 day)
Service DesignUncover the fundamentals required to create successful end-to-end service experiences. 60% theory, 40% practical. Elective course for CXD. (1 day)
Usability TestingLearn how to recruit participants, facilitate sessions and analyze data to ensure usability. 50% theory, 50% practical. Mandatory course for CXR. (2 days)

CERTIFICATION EXAM The Akendi CXD™ and CXR™ exams assess the participant’s understanding of concepts and working knowledge of usability and user experience design. This hands-on component will test your acquired skills, and put the concepts learned into real-life practice. This exercise will reinforce the points you learned and build confidence in your practice.
DURATIONCourses go from 9:00am – 4:30pm.
Sessions include a one-hour lunch break.
Exam duration is 3 hours.
REGISTRATION COST User Experience Designer Certification - CXD™ $3975+tax / £1995+VAT including exam
Course cost is per person as stated plus tax. Akendi reserves the right to cancel a scheduled training session up to five business days in advance of the course in the unlikely event that a minimum class size of four participants has not been met.
