Nominating FeeAll horses showing must pay a nominating fee of $175 by the closing date of entries.

DeclarationsDeclarations for Friday’s classes must be made by 4 p.m. Thursday, June 19th. Declarations for Saturday’s classes must be made by 4 p.m. Friday, June 20. Declarations for Saturday’s classes must be made within one hour after the pinning of the qualifier. All Grand Prix Declarations must be made by 12 noon on Saturday.

Show Rules & Regulations

Entries will be limited and accepted on a first come, first served basics.

All horses competing in any classes at the show must be stabled on the grounds as follows: (a) Equitation horses may ship in and are not required to be stabled on the grounds, (b) National Open Jumper, Children’s Jumper, Adult Amateur Jumper and Jr/AO Jumpers must stable on the grounds and arrive the day prior to their first class no later than 4 p.m., (c) Horses only showing in the Budweiser Grand Prix must be on the grounds by 12 noon Saturday June 21st.

Entries must be postmarked by June 2, 2008. Entries postmarked by the closing date must be received within seven days of the postmark to avoid late penalties.

Post Entries will be accepted on a space available basis for an additional fee of $50 per horse.

The following fees must accompany each entry form for each horse: (a) All Stall fees, (b) Nomination Fees.

All fees must be paid in U.S Funds.

Every Entries must be accompanied by a negative Coggins test dated within one year of the competition.

Refunds. After the closing date of entries, stall fees and nomination fees are not refundable.

Stalls are $200 and will be approximately 10’x 10’ temporary stalls with doors housed under tents. Initial bedding will not be provided. Stalls will be available from 12 noon on Wednesday June 18th and must be vacated by 12 noon on Monday June 23rd. Early arrival may be available for an additional fee of $30 per night. Call Oliver Kennedy at (301) 260- 2467 for further information. After the close of entries there will be no refunds on stall or nominating fees.

All owners and exhibitors shall be held responsible for any damage incurred by them, their agents or employees to stalls, building or other properties on the grounds, and shall be billed accordingly.

Motor Homes and RV’s will not be permitted.

Medical Waste - Sharp objects must be placed in the proper receptacles. Anyone found in violation shall be subject to a fine or other penalties deemed necessary by show management.

Food Service will be available on the show grounds. Please be advised that alcoholic beverages in any form may not be brought into the show grounds.

Show Rules & Regulations

VIP Tables will be available in the VIP tent. Sponsorship information is included in this book. For further information contact the Sponsorship & VIP Coordinator, Gleneayre Equestrian Program, at (609) 267-4104.

Poling & Offsets will not be permitted at any time on the shows grounds.

Non-negotiable Checks- Checks returned by the bank for any reason will be assessed a penalty of $50. In addition, a monthly service fee equal to 18% per annum will begin accruing if not paid within 30 days of notification. Exhibitors are hereby notified that first time returned checks will be reprocessed automatically.

All Dogs must be restrained at all times and are not permitted outside of the barn area. Owners will be fined $100 for any dogs found near the ring or schooling area. Refusal to pay the fine will result in the owner being barred from showing or expelled from the show grounds and the owner will not be entitled to a refund of any entry or stabling fees paid.

No Motorized Vehicles / Golf Carts will be permitted on the grounds, except those used by the event’s management.

All Exhibitors are required to wear properly fitting headgear while mounted at anytime on the show grounds. All Riders must wear headgear passing or surpassing current ASTM/SEI standards with the harness properly in place.

MANAGEMENT, THE COMMITTEE, AND/OR THE PROPERTY OWNERS WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENT WHICH MAY OCCUR TO ANY EXHIBITORS, OWNER, ATTENDANT, HORSE OR EQUIPMENT AT THE SHOW.

USEF Membership Statement

Life, Senior Active and Junior Active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at regular Competitions, eventing competitions at the preliminary level or above and combined driving competitions at the advanced level, dressage, reining and vaulting competitions and endurance rides provided the respective breed/discipline dues or breed/discipline category fee has been paid. A non-member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at regular competitions, eventing competitions, dressage competitions, reining competitions, and combined driving competitions upon payment of a $20 non-member registration fee and a $5 breed/discipline category fee for each breed/discipline. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the requirements of this rule 1) Leadline; 2) Exhibitions; 3) Games and races; 4) Classes for 4-H members; 5) Walk Trot and Academy classes (Academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF Intro-ductory Level tests, Pas De Deux and Quadrille classes; 7) NRHA endorsed reining competitions. Also exempted from this requirement as citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own national federation; 8) USEA Beginner Novice Division; and 9) Assistant handlers in dressage sporthorse breeding classes.

Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainers who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Rule 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

By entering a Federation-recognized Competition and signing the entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of the United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the “Federation”) and the local rules of the competition. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Haring Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition , the Federation, or their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. About the Beneficiary

Gleneayre Equestrian ProgramHorses Helping Children Helping Horses

This year’s Grand Prix supports a cause that is near and dear to our hearts – children and horses. Through the Gleneayre Equestrian Program (GEP), horse show proceeds will benefit children and teens who are experiencing challenges in their lives, and for whom a relationship with a horse will open new vistas.

GEP offers equine-assisted experiential learning programs to children 10 years old through their 13th year in school. Through its comprehensive team-oriented approach, GEP gives youngsters who otherwise would not have the opportunity to work with horses a chance to ride and care for their “own” horse. Gleneayre assigns each student a horse, and they are responsible for its total care. From riding lessons and grooming to barn management and care of tack, the children, under supervision, do it all. They participate in appointments with the vet and farrier, attend clinics and workshops, and have work commitments in the barn. Riding lessons are an integral part of the program, and students can compete in horseshows as well.

Academics are also a part of the program. GEP provides tutors to assist children having difficulties in the academic arena, and the more seasoned students provide mentoring support to those less experienced. GEP’s program is based on helping each child to succeed -- in school, in the showring, and in life.

Grand Prix proceeds will enable GEP to implement its newest program, Cowboy Poetry, in September. In the non-traditional setting of the horse farm, GEP will introduce school children to the lore of cowboy ethics. By integrating academic standards into the curriculum, Cowboy Poetry instructors will help at-risk kids to learn writing, listening and speaking skills. Students are also challenged to accomplish specific activity goals, in which they must partner with the horse. The program will take place on the Gleneayre Farm in Lumberton, NJ. Values such as respect and honesty will be explored in the lesson plan activities, and the children will work in collaborative teams that include the horse and the program instructor. Your participation in the 2008 Grand Prix helps to make these programs possible!

GENERAL LOCATIONBeacon Hill Show Stables is located at 55 Laird Road in Colts Neck, NJ 07722 (Monmouth Country). Access to the parking area will be from Cross Road, which intersects Laird Road. Look for signs to direct you to the parking area.

FROM MT. HOLLY, NJ (BURLINGTON COUNTY) Beacon Hill Show Stables is about 42 miles from the center of Mt. Holly. Take Route 537 North. Follow Route 537 through Jackson and Freehold (in downtown Freehold, make sure to stay on Rt. 537- do not veer left onto Broadway). Continue on 537 until you reach Route 34 (Leland Rd). Turn Left onto Rt. 34 and follow to Laird Road. Beacon Hill will be on the Left after Cross Road. Look for directional signs for parking.

NJ TURNPIKE FROM POINTS NORTH OR SOUTH Take Exit 8 toward Hightstown/Freehold. Keep Right at the fork in the ramp and merge onto Route 33 East. Follow for 14 miles. Take the Halls Mill Rd North Exit. Turn slight Right onto Rt. 33 East/Halls Mill Rd. (becomes Kozloski Rd.) & follow for about 2 miles. Turn Right onto Rt. 537/Colts Neck Rd. Turn Left onto Rt. 34 and follow to Laird Road. Beacon Hill will be on the left after Cross Road. Look for directional signs for parking.

GARDEN STATE PARKWAY FROM POINTS SOUTH Take Exit 105 onto Route 18 North toward New Brunswick and follow for about 5 miles. Take Exit 19A onto Route 34 North toward Matawan. Follow about 3 miles, and turn Right onto Laird Road. Beacon Hill will be on the left after Cross Road. Look for directional signs for parking.
