Bacteria and fungi aredecomposers. They eatdecaying plants and animals and break them down, releasing nutrients back into the soil-which is then used by plants.
Consumers are animals thatcannot make their own food, so they need toconsume (eat) plants and/or animals.
Plants are producers. because they “produce” or make their own food! They do this by the process of photosynthesis.
