Let us start off with explaining our awesome game!

What can a player learn after the game?

• Resume Building

• Job Hunt/Preparation

• Interview

What makes our game so interesting?

It is a fun and enjoyable game for all job seekers.

It is a unique game in a way that it is the first game that actually engages the job seekers into a game.

Job Opening Skills is a board game where players will learn different career skills as they walk through the levels in the game.

Board games can still be played even after fifty years from now.

Do you think we still play and enjoy the same version of electronic games that is fifty years old?

Game play

The game has three levels that players compete to finish before each other while collecting the most points. All the players will take turns to move their characters one by one. The randomly selected cards from the different decks tell the players what their next move will be while teaching them the different skills.

Levels :

First Level: Resume Building Deck

Second Level: Job Hunt and Preparation Deck

Final Level: Interview Deck and Timer

Story Overview

The story reflects the story of any job seeker who is out on the journey of looking for a job. Be it the person who is fresh out of college, a person who is looking to change jobs or the person who got laid off. What do they have to do how do they do it? Life happens, and through the challenges in this game we try to portray the different situations that can occur with people.

First Level: Resume Building Deck

The player chooses a card on his turn to move forward some of the card states:

Your resume has your updated address move 2 steps ahead.

You forgot to add skills section on your resume move 1 step back.

Did you get your resume proofread? Great! Move 3 steps forward!

This way the players will learn the most important components of building a resume while enjoying their time.

Second Level: Job Hunt and Preparation Deck

This level is all about searching for a job, dressing up appropriately, maintaining confidence and dealing with real life situations. When a player draws a card from this deck depending on which spot the character is placed, the player will read that matching section of the card.

We tried calling your number and it is out of order, jump back to the last resume spot to resend your application.

Your computer crashed as you submitted the application, go back 1 step.

Your resume made it to the top of our list, jump 3 steps ahead.

Rain hit you on your way, you are drenched (didn't have an umbrella), go back 1 step.

Your friend’s referral got you an interview call, jump 2 steps ahead.

Final Level: Interview Deck and Timer

When a player enters this level, no matter how many steps they had to move forward from the last box they have to enter at the Employee Box.

In this level the player chooses 5 cards from the deck and picks an “HR agent” (another player who will read the cards out). Each card has one common interview question and multiple possible answers.

The goal is to answer the interview questions in 45 seconds to determine how many spots the player will move forward. This section also has file boxes which will gives them the opportunity to gain more points before getting hired.
