Use the mandala resources in this booklet to generate your own mandala-art.
MANDALA-ART
A mandala is a geometrical composition.
Mandala-art is a tool of meditation. It helps to achievea state of contemplation and concentration.
It helps to study one’s inner world and promotesemotional and mental emancipation and relaxation.
It can be an abstract colouristic storyline, filled with colour energies tuned to a specificemotional state.
CREATE A SPACE WHERE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE, AND WHERE YOU CANUNDERTAKE YOUR MANDALA-ART .
Step 1:Consider a mandala in this booklet.Do not do any reflection or analysis.Let your attention randomly travel in the image, from one colour spot to another, fromfigure to figure, from line to line. Look at the mandala's simple forms. Gradually encompass more complex visual groups of objects and their relationships.
Step 2:Undertake the process of painting/colouring a ready-made mandala shape in this booklet.
Step 3:Design, create and colour your own mandala to create mandala-art.
Use themes to support your reflection process, or “starting points” in designing yourmandala.
Or you can just pick up a pen, and start to work on your mandala without thinking – justmake connections with the forms and pictures you are designing. See the pathways andlinks.
