I'm responding to the chatter about the arm band. Is the logo lock-up and font pack in a place that can be easily downloaded so anyone can use it for any project? I didn't know there were "logos" I had only seen typography. If not is anyone on this list from internet? Can we just put it on the site as a downloadable link? Michael Premo www.michaelpremo.com

Yesterday, I spoke on the phone with Grandmother Agnes Baker Pilgrim, 87 years old, the oldest living member of the Takelma Tribe from Southern Oregon and chairperson of the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers. She is a lifelong activist for environmental causes. Her main cause is water rights and water ecology. She travels constantly and has successfully battled cancer and won. She sends us her support.

Her message:

Keep Strong, Keep Focused, don't deal with anger, don't let people upset you. Your behavior is being watched by people all over the world. Set a good example, walk the path of non-violence and stick to that path. We need to fight for the bees, the animal kingdom, the water, the air. It is not adults who own the world but it is the children, we need to preserve it for the 7 generations to follow us. Be diligent. All races need to come together. I am praying to the creator to give you courage to continue on in the days and weeks ahead.

Speaking of studio space. Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) has also opened their doors to us. They offered us their studio space to shoot in as long as we give them 24+ hours notice. If we want to go live, it would be in the evening, otherwise if we wanted to shoot something to cut together, then we can do it in the morning. Alternatively, if we wanted to set up our own ONN (Occupied News Network) for Saturday, we can talk to them about broadcasting with them on air all day long. They reach 620,000 cable subscribers in the Manhattan area. For more info: http://www.mnn.org/ -Abe -www.AbrahamHeisler.com www.vimeo.com/heisler www.imdb.me/heisler www.newdawnlab.com

Folks in media, Ways to get involved: -make sure rep. is at facilitation with a proposal every day. PR and media are our only weapon. -Producers on top of nycga.net calendar across town. -OUTREACH with info. See doc below. This should be printed, put at info and actually it needs a suggestion column too. Also we could ask info to bring this doc through the crowd and recruit. Its how we origininally made this group which is now basically defunct because its a revolving door and it seems no one is volunteering for shoots besides the 5-10 people in our leadership clique. Each wg should have every working groups job addressed internally, in other words, we'll have an "internet" person in our group, oriented towards video but who makes sure the web stuff happens. Yes! That was me, hi! From my *limited* understanding, I'm not even sure if an 'app' is necessary if we can just have a webpage that people can go to? John seems to have a pretty good grasp on how to do this. John--would you mind setting up the site? Or perhaps giving me more details on exactly what we need in terms of process (tech-dummies version for me ha). I'm downloading nicecast now. It sounds like really all we need is a router and a computer dedicated to this. For now I'm putting together a silent film series, but I think if we can figure this out it can really help in many ways. If we can use an FM transmitter that can cover the length of the square, we can 'occupy' a station and transmit audio (yes the GA meetings and whatever else people want) live that people can listen to with their phones. I think it can work for both. There can be several 'channels' for each need, and people can listen to the one that's appropriate for what they're interested in at the moment. Personally, I've had difficulty communicating with both of those groups (I'm also new to the way things work), so if you know how to reach out, please advise. Thanks Daniel! Also, we've used the word 'radio' alot, but just to clarify I think it's starting to focus in on internet 'radio' solely so people can use their phones. Although if Radio WG wanted to take the reins on good old fashioned radio, that would be great. I imagine that if you're live streaming a GA meeting with a mic, it would be pretty easy to do it both ways at once. I'm focusing on getting the internet side going first though! THis would work, but is best for prerecorded stuff because there is a 7 second delay on the video too. THis can be really powerful if you guys want to spend the energy to make it work. it can also create a local web site that people can access to see what's happening and what is needed within the local area network range. If we can get it working it can be replicated pretty easily and cheaply.

[email protected] on behalf of Sofa Gallis Muriente [email protected] [GlobalRevolutionMedia] Spanish Subtitling Team Sunday, October 09, 2011 11:07:29 PM

Friends, I apologize for adding to the email flood coming your way, but here's a quick note about a recent development I thought was important to share with you all: Today during the first Spanish GA we began a group dedicated to subtitling important videos regarding the occupation into Spanish. I brought up the idea during yesterday's MEDIA meeting and collected email addresses from a couple of people interested in today's Spanish GA. We're not a huge group, and I think it's better this way. My hope is that we can coordinate with the MEDIA and TRANSLATION groups to select the content, translate it and distribute it through existing channels. Today I also identified a group interested in creating original content in Spanish, highlighting stories of spanish-speaking occupiers, and also creating pieces about the occupation that cater directly to Latinos in NY. We will be meeting soon to establish a plan of action and will probably need your support at some point, so I will report back on that with any relevant information that may arise. If any of you receiving this email is interested in forming a part of this group, please write me and let me know. So, my main request right now would be to get advice from all of you as to which are these important videos that should be subtitled ASAP. I think since we're just starting, trying to keep up with the Daily Re-cap might be a bit much, but is there a weekly re-cap? Is there a OWS 101 type of intro video out there? We are identifying some videos ourselves but I wanted to make you a part of the process. Please share any relevant links. Onward! Sofa

[email protected] on behalf of Melissa Ulto Global Revolution Media [GlobalRevolutionMedia] Studio for Oct 14/15 Monday, October 10, 2011 8:44:10 PM

hi all: i'm working with Vlad on specifically setting up and crewing the studio for the Oct 15 event. We plan to build out the space on the morning of Oct 14, test the set up that evening and then start broadcasting, CNN style, from that location at midnight. We have plotted out the setup, defined needs and really need help crewing for: - shooters - anchors - livestream monitors (monitoring all livestream channels and posting on private IRC channel to anchors what's breaking) - motion graphics artist for broadcast branding - live bloggers - live tweetersa we also want to set up a "confessional" of sorts at each Occupy that may or may not be live streamed, but definitely recorded, and have those run on the feed as PSAs. The idea is to capture as many 99% stories as possible - why you are here, what is your story, what do you want changed. any help would be great. i'm volunteering both days for as long as i can, with my gear. if any shooters with HD cameras can be in the studio Saturday, in shifts, that would be really grand. We've been discussing this over at #occupythemedia group - did not know this group existed - apologies - let me know if this should be discussed here or continued here: [email protected] thanks so much! Melissa Ulto
