2014 First Quarter in Review

The Mountain West Digital Library continues to experienced significant growth throughout the first three months of 2014. Several prominent developments in 2013 have allowed MWDL to greatly expand in both size and scope to reach a broader audience range. With the launch of the Digital Public Library of America last April, MWDL has seen its average daily user metric nearly double. Additionally, the inclusion of Rebekah Cummings and Anna Neatrour to the MWDL staff has boosted the organization’s social media presence and streamlined the metadata ingestion process. As of April 2014, MWDL includes a network of 17 digital repositories, 150 collection partners, and over 600 collections for a grand total of almost 900,000 items. In comparison, MWDL included 17 repositories, 55 collection partners, 360 collections, and 690,191 items at the start of 2013.

This report is primarily composed of data from the Google Analytics website usage program. The Google Analytics tool provides a wealth of information about website usage including visitor count, traffic referral sources, in-page searches, and top visited pages. Finally, the report also includes usage statistics from MWDL’s social media sites including Blogger, Facebook, and Twitter.
