PCC Meeting on 26th May Hot on the heels of the previous meeting, the PCC met again on Thursday 26th May. After Ali read from Psalm 150 and prayed for the meeting, the following was discussed:
Simon Goddard from The Goddard Partnership updated the PCC on the Quinquennial inspection and then explained the pros and cons of having the church 'listed' and the possible funding this may release. It was agreed that the way forward on both listing and funding would be discussed further at a future PCC meeting and church members would be consulted. Bob Carkeet advised that construction of the shed base had begun and a couple of quotes will be obtained for building the new shed. Dave Alford reported that significant and gener-ous pledges have been received towards the finances towards the Youth Worker and after considerable dis-cussion, it was suggested that we look to advertising the post with the addition of Sam Scott covering the Autumn term through a temporary contract, offering a handover period whilst the appointment was in process. Ali indicated that he will be looking to shape things in a new way, moving forward. The PCC Vision Day on June 11th will offer a time to look at this and other issues more fully. Any member of the Electoral Roll can view the full minutes from this meeting once they have been agreed at the forthcoming meeting on Thursday 14th July.
